B.Ed Course: FAQs

Ques. What is the scope of a B.Ed degree in India?

Ans. The scope of B.Ed in India is vast, as it is the mandatory qualification for teaching in most government and private schools. Graduates can work as primary, trained graduate, or postgraduate teachers depending on their subject specialization. In addition to teaching, opportunities exist in educational administration, special education, and EdTech. With rising demand for quality teachers, B.Ed graduates are highly valued in schools, coaching institutes, and online platforms. Many also pursue higher studies like M.Ed, PhD, or diploma courses to enhance their career growth. Thus, B.Ed provides long-term stability, respectable income, and a fulfilling career.

Ques. Can I get a government job after completing B.Ed?

Ans. Yes, B.Ed opens up many government job opportunities in central and state schools. After completing B.Ed, candidates can apply for CTET, STET, KVS, NVS, DSSSB, and Army School PGT/TGT exams. Clearing these exams ensures eligibility for permanent government teaching jobs with attractive salaries and job security. In addition, B.Ed graduates can also join state universities and colleges after higher qualifications like M.Ed or PhD. With government schools increasingly focusing on quality education, the demand for B.Ed graduates continues to rise. This makes B.Ed one of the best degrees for those aspiring to stable government careers in education.

Ques. What are the career options available apart from teaching after B.Ed?

Ans. While teaching is the most common path after B.Ed, graduates can explore several other career opportunities. They can work as curriculum developers, content creators, educational consultants, trainers, counselors, or EdTech professionals. Specialization in areas like psychology, child development, or technology-integrated learning also opens doors in NGOs and training centers. Many B.Ed holders join private coaching institutions or become online tutors through e-learning platforms. With experience, one can transition into administrative roles such as academic coordinator or school principal. Therefore, B.Ed is not limited to teaching—it also enables careers in the broader education ecosystem.

Ques. What is the average salary after completing B.Ed?

Ans. The salary after B.Ed depends on the job profile, experience, and institution. On average, freshers earn between INR 2.5 – 4 LPA as primary teachers, while trained graduate teachers (TGTs) earn around INR 3 – 6 LPA. Postgraduate teachers (PGTs) can earn INR 4 – 8 LPA, and special educators earn INR 3 – 5 LPA. With experience, salaries increase significantly, especially in reputed private schools and government institutions. Educational consultants, curriculum developers, and EdTech professionals often earn higher packages, ranging from INR 5 – 10 LPA. Thus, B.Ed offers both stable and lucrative career prospects over time.

Ques. Is B.Ed a good choice for pursuing a teaching career abroad?

Ans. Yes, B.Ed can open teaching opportunities abroad, though additional certifications are often required. Countries like Canada, the UK, Australia, and Gulf nations recognize B.Ed but may demand exams or licenses. Certifications like TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA are highly recommended for teaching English internationally. International schools in India and abroad also prefer B.Ed graduates due to their structured training in pedagogy and child psychology. Moreover, B.Ed combined with postgraduate degrees increases chances of securing high-paying academic roles abroad. Therefore, B.Ed serves as a strong foundation for those aiming at global teaching careers.

Ques. What exams should I prepare for after B.Ed to become a government teacher?

Ans. After completing B.Ed, students must appear for teacher eligibility and recruitment exams to qualify for government teaching jobs. The most important are CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) and State TETs, which make candidates eligible for teaching in government schools. For central-level jobs, KVS (Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan), NVS (Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti), and DSSSB are crucial recruitment exams. Army Public Schools also conduct AWES PGT/TGT/PRT exams. For higher education, pursuing NET/JRF after postgraduation and B.Ed is beneficial. Preparing for these exams ensures access to stable, well-paid, and respected teaching careers in government institutions.

Ques. Can B.Ed graduates work in EdTech companies?

Ans. Yes, with the rise of digital education, EdTech companies actively hire B.Ed graduates for their expertise in pedagogy. They can work as curriculum designers, instructional content developers, trainers, and online educators. Many platforms prefer B.Ed graduates because they bring practical classroom knowledge, lesson planning skills, and subject expertise. They may also contribute to designing interactive learning modules, video lessons, and educational apps. Salaries in EdTech roles are often higher compared to traditional teaching, ranging from INR 5 – 9 LPA depending on role and experience. Thus, B.Ed graduates have excellent opportunities in the booming EdTech sector.

Ques. Is it necessary to do M.Ed after B.Ed?

Ans. While M.Ed is not compulsory after B.Ed, it is highly beneficial for those aspiring to progress in academics and research. B.Ed prepares graduates for school-level teaching, while M.Ed opens doors for lecturer, professor, researcher, and educational administrator roles. It also helps in career advancement, salary growth, and eligibility for higher-level teaching positions. Those aiming for leadership roles in schools, colleges, or universities should definitely consider pursuing M.Ed. Faculty in school of education are 5-6 and Our Head of Department. B.Ed 2024-26 batch has 26 students. My fav faculty is Dr. Sakshi Sharma as she's the one who would listen to your problem and give best advice and Deepak sir also He's a very cool and nice teacher and always tries to support us. One thing that happens bad here is our HOD changes every 2-3 months for no reason and our communication gap do increases with them. The clg has midsem and endsem as well for every semseter. The course is moderate and you need to study at your own for better understanding.

Internships Opportunities

School Of Education B.Ed approaches different school for internships and all schols are very nice but for some students it may be far from there home causing them inconvenience. B.Ed Course has 3 Internships Sem 1 and 2 has 1 internship each for 15 days semester 3 has internship for 3 to 4 months and after that you can apply in diff school for jobs.

The faculty to student ratio is 1:40 not so ideal but, the overall staff is very approachable teachers support and guides student althrough the curicullum. Mr.Shailendra sir and Miss. Sashi chahal ma'am respond timely to all of our doubts patiently. Sir helps us in getting our assignments done and helps us in collecting the resources and Sashi ma'am provided us extended timelines for assisgnemnt submission. There is no such faculty member to be disliked or who is not student supportive. In my course Bachelor of Education the College conduct yearly examinations. The exams are not so though if you have studied well and focused on your assignment. Some student do get failed if they have not attended practical exmainiation and final examination but they get the chance to give re-exam next year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Registration fees for Bachelor of Education is Rs.5000 Tuition fees for the two year programm is Rs.48000. So the complete fees for the program stood at Rs.53000. There is no development fees or any other kind of hidden charges. Students belonging to SC/ST category are eligible to get scholarship provided by Uttar pradesh governemnt for student belonging to the Uttar pradesh.

There was total 100 students in the B.Ed course. We have sufficient staff to teach us, help us and they always provide all the information to us. My favourite teacher was Mrs. Kumkum Agarwal because she was the most helping teacher in the college. And today I'm still in touch with her. She always provides me the best guidance. The exams were conducted annually and the course curriculum was relevant.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have paid 50,000 in the first year and 20,000 in the second year. The registration fees, admission fees, examination fees were also charged differently in different years. The students from SC category got free admission and some students got their half fees as promised by the management.

Course Curriculum Overview

It was very close to my house that's the only reason I took admission in this college 1st year of my college was fine but after the Covid and lockdown the situation of college got really worst People did not get placements and the ones who did they had to sit at home for more than 6 months About the curriculum and teaching - this college needs to change their staff and hire people who can actually teach something to students We were giving open book exams after Covid and that's definitely not very good way for preparing for exams where students have music plugged in their ear and just copying everything

Campus Life

There are lot of annual cultural festivals in the college there is no specific month where they happen but usually by the end of the academic year college fest is held and in the beginning the freshers parties are going on then college cultural department have also opened their own music studio Library facilities are good Lot of extra curricular activities in sports also happen and There are clubs for different departments too

The faculty members in the college are highly qualified and experienced. they have more than 10 years of experience and they are postgraduated with doctoral degree. There are 55 students and 10 teachers. The faculties are really approachable and they provide a very friendly learning environment and the teaching learning process is very smooth and very good. The faculty that I like most peace Sona mam who is the teacher of philosophy and I like her because of her simplicity and the way of teaching and she had as a mother and I get a motherly feeling with her. And I don't dislike any of the faculties and I also like our principal who guide us and motivate us throughout the teaching learning process. This is that too your course and there are 4 exams during the 6 months. 1,2 and 4 semesters are written exams and third semester is practical exams with viva voice. The curriculum is rich with the subject areas that we needed to study in order to become a good teacher. Ques. Can I prepare in 1 month for a B.Ed entrance exam at DU?

● Top Answer By Inayat on 10 Oct 22

Ans. The requirements for B.Ed admission to DU are as follows: Written Exam: If you work smartly and analyze the pattern of questions asked in previous examinations, devote a focused time period to preparation, followed by sufficient practice tests, you can certainly clear in one month.  If you are well-versed in your subject matter, there is very little required for you to do. Hard work comes after good fortune. So, first and foremost, your planning should be smart, and then, you must work and prepare well beyond the planned strategy. Each of us has our own set of self-beliefs and abilities. Thus, you do not have to compare yourself with any other person. Just believe in yourself and go ahead.  Interview:  During the interview, a panel of teachers/interviewers/professors will fire off all sorts of questions at you, including subject questions, psychology questions, general knowledge questions, confidence check questions, and, most importantly, your honesty, which is one of the most important aspects of being a good teacher. A good strategy, a lot of planning, focused work, confidence as well as a strong belief in yourself, are required.Read more

Ans. Apart from IGNOU, no other university offers decent corresponding B.Ed degrees. It is better to join a regular B.Ed course in your nearest possible university or college. Regular B.Ed courses will teach you how to give micro lessons in a school.  Attend classes frequently, if you can’t be present every day. Courses such as B.Ed are best to do in regular mode. Ques. Is Burdwan University good for a B.Ed?

● Top Answer By Poushali Bhattacharya on 28 Sept 21

Ans. Burdwan University, at present, has the largest number of B.Ed affiliated colleges in the state of West Bengal. However, all the B.Ed universities fall under the category of “The West Bengal University of Teachers' Training, Education and Administration”. This procedure was started with CU, KU, etc. So, it does not necessarily matter from where you pursue your B.Ed degree. The only important factor to ensure is whether or not the university you have enrolled in has come under the NCTE website (Eastern Zone) during and after your course period. It is because the courses often lose their course validity period which is exactly why you should be aware of your steps.  Rest assured, Burdwan University is one of the most scoring universities for pursuing a B.Ed. Read more
