Bangalore University offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Engineering & Technology, Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Computer Applications, and other diverse disciplines. Candidates are enrolled based on merit, as well as entrance scores. KCET Application Fee 2025 is INR 500 for General Merit (GM), 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B candidates from Karnataka. For SC/ST/Category 1 candidates of Karnataka, the application fee is INR 250. Candidates from outside Karnataka, but within India, pay INR 750. For candidates residing outside India, the fee is INR 5,000.

Bangalore University Scholarships 2025

Bangalore University grants scholarships based on various criteria including merit, merit-cum-means, and to reserved categories. A student can avail of only one scholarship or financial benefit at a time. Students must not that those availing a free (Non-paying) University hostel are not eligible for any other free ship, scholarship, either from the University or Government.

Government of India Post-Metric Scholarships: Karnataka students belonging to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes whose parent’s annual income is less than or equal to INR 2.5 Lacs.
Minorities Scholarship: The candidates belonging to minorities (i.e., Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Anglo-Indians, Jains, etc.,) whose Parents’ Annual Income is less than INR 44,500 are eligible to apply for Encouragement Fund/ Fees reimbursement from Minorities Welfare Department (MWD) as per the norms of MWD.
Special Scholarships: Special Scholarships for Children of Government Employees/University Employees who die in harness, administered by the Director of Collegiate Education or the University as the case may be.
Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship: Single Girl Child who happens to be the only child or girl who is a twin daughter in the family is eligible to apply only through online mode.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship: The scholarship is for meritorious students (1st to 5th Ranks) who come under the Below Poverty Line as defined by the Government of Karnataka. The scholarship amounts to INR 500 each per month for 10 months for each year, to each Department of Bangalore University.

Hostels: Bangalore University has residential facilities for Postgraduate students and PhD Scholars of both genders.
Auditorium & Seminar Halls: The university has numerous auditorium facilities, seminar halls, and senate halls.
Guest House: BU has a guest house for parents and other visitors with a total of 24 rooms, including 16 ordinary rooms and 8 AC rooms, with all basic amenities.
Health Centre: The University Health Center is catering to the basic medical needs of the staff and students of the University, and is managed by two senior physicians along with supporting staff. The Health Centre is equipped with E.C.G. and blood glucose determining facility. Provision is also made for the visit of two specialist doctors, twice a week. Ques. What is an honest review of Bangalore University?

Ans. As per our research, students and alumni say that they would prefer studying at other universities solely for results and paper checking. Although the teaching and faculty is at par with other universities, results are rarely announced on time. There’s no proper calendar, exams can be conducted anytime, not good.Events such as seminars are very rare, no guest speakers, no frequent outside exposure. Most student reviews online say that in terms of evaluation and result it is the worst university. One may find hell lots of mistakes in the marks card. Most of the management has also reported to be corrupt. It is the worst for post graduation. Many students have failed due to the above-mentioned reasons and it has affected their careers as well.

Ques. Why are the ratings for Bangalore University so poor?

Ans. Students and alumni say that the ratings for Bangalore University should be more than poor, in fact, worse than what they are. This university does not have any proper timings for anything. They conduct exams when it is suitable for them. Bangalore has 70% of the population which comes from North India to study here to get good jobs and great careers ahead in life. They are inconsiderate towards students who have come from outside Karnataka. The faculty says nothing can be done. Bangalore university has no good rules and no policy. It is all just a waste of time.

Ques. How is Bangalore University, in terms of student friendliness?

Ans. Alumni report that if you are a student of any state outside Karnataka, you have to adjust a little with language and food. But if you find some friends from your state then it's alright. However there is a partiality between the students of Karnataka and other states. Surprisingly, students from Karnataka always get good marks in exams as well as in practical or internal tests compared to their knowledge. The relationship between professor and student also depends as some of the professors did not help the other state students properly. However, some of them are very good in nature and there has been no partiality at all. Alumni advise candidates that if they need some time for a government job and you need an environment to prepare, then choose Bangalore University. It will provide everything but if you are more focused on academic interest then go for any other institutions.

Likes

Our college is good, atmosphere is also very well, first year when i can join the college that time i feel like want to improve
students like friendly, and some time will sitting in campus and sharing good and bad things happily spent time in campus good experience
The faculties are very good, and frirndly nature with the students, some times they will take us to oitside and explained sime needed things

Dislikes

The boys are behavior like monkeys, and they don't known to how to respect theire colleagues, some time they used bad words to the girls'.
More than students are not attend the class because they will spent time in lawn and their partners
College life is golden life but some time i feel like a wasting my time to spending with my friend's most of the time i missed my classes also

Students view on course curriculum

I loved commerce because my favorite subject is accountancy. In the first year we do have totall six subject first one is kannada, english, in the part two section Financial accounting here this we have theory -1 and internal assessment Human resources management, theory -1. And internal assessment Business statistics Environmental studies like so many interesting subject one of the my favorite subject is Business Ecnomics. Exam time our class teachers are taking extra classes and teach well and also we are going to tuition some times friends are sitting in one side and start combained studies this studies is reunied every year, and also will chi chatting.

Fees structure of the course

We Will paying yearly once And also we paid tuition fees, caution fees, registration fees admission fees development fees, lab fees and other compulsory we paid but compare to private college government college was better bcoz poor, and middle class people were studing this colleges they supposed nod be paid more amount to the college in government college less fees compare to the Private And my friend are different categories they will not pay fees if it is they paid only less fees scholarship amount is 25000 and different merite got different amount.

Students view on campus life

College life is a golden life its never come back again some time will fighting and some times will do fun and extra activities, so over all i like the my college because golden worlds and golden life is not come back again mt friends, my college, my campus, our addas, clasd room, lawn wow it is so pretty our friends are decided to after will do get to gather party and recreating our old memories we all are waiting for the right time to combained so please studend study time study fun time u can fun others extra activities also never come back again

Students view on faculties and examination

My favorite teacher is Usha Rani ma'am, she is teaching kannada subject, i am so lucky to have that teacher, she is good teaching in Kannada so excited to sitting in kannada period. And one more teacher is their actually she is a guest lecturer and very cute she is teaching english. And also i liked each and every teacher's and i respect them all. And only one teacher is their he is named called nagaraj, all students are called bhus bhus nagaraj he is very bad because one incident is happen in the college, one day i am able to attend the his class and chichatting with my friend's in the coffee day when that teacher is entered to that coffee shop, all my friends are escaped but only one person is not notice that teacher, that's me only so i noted, next day he entered the class room, he just point out me and he says you are not a VIP of this college and he speak more about me that is hurt very much my friends are laughing when they see me so that bad experience in that college i never have forgot that moment. Exam time i am very serious because i never failed to the sems and some tension is also there, every year we have six or seven subject sem wise yearly two sems is their, three years we totally have six sems, so we are very glad to had, now four years of the college.

Competitive advantage of this college over other similar college

Because our government college is very good in this surrounding and well maitained why because my college is best our faculties are good atmosphere also very good very less fees structure to middle class and poor peoples nowadays education is a business so thos comparative feild we are not able to pay for more money to the colleges so best of my college look like private college but is is completly government collge my college my proud, i tried two colleges but my friend are joined this college and they told to me best colleges in this area please come and join this college and i go for this college and admit their it was really good and me and friends are same college and have more fun as usually studies, teaching method is really good

Night Life

Almost we in my college their is mo hostel service and pg so in class hours we surrounding and after class also we are surronding one of the main place to i am like is cafeterias and near park seriously it is chitchatting place to us. Some love stories and some frinendship is built here, and some times breaks up and fighting also uuufff such a lots of memories college timing is morning 8.30 to 3.30 lunch break including, and our last place to meet in my college only that us our class room we all mesmerized when see my class room wow whatie nice boundle of memories we are taking away from college

Scholarship provided by the college.

Bangalore University offers various scholarships to its students depending on various factors. Given below are the details of the scholarships that students pursuing different courses at the university can avail:

Scholarship name	Eligibility
Government of India Post-Metric Scholarships	Karnataka students belonging to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes whose parent’s annual income is less than or equal to INR 2.5 Lacs.
Minorities Scholarship	The candidates belonging to minorities (i.e., Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Anglo-Indians, Jains, etc.,) whose Parents’ Annual Income is less than INR 44,500 are eligible to apply for Encouragement Fund/ Fees reimbursement from Minorities Welfare Department (MWD) as per the norms of MWD.
Special Scholarships	Special Scholarships for Children of Government Employees/University Employees who die in harness, administered by the Director of Collegiate Education or the University as the case may be.
Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship	Single Girl Child who happens to be the only child or girl who is a twin daughter in the family is eligible to apply only through online mode.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship	The scholarship is for meritorious students (1st to 5th Ranks) who come under the Below Poverty Line as defined by the Government of Karnataka. The scholarship amounts to INR 500 each per month for 10 months for each year, to each Department of Bangalore University.

Note:

A student can avail of only one scholarship or financial benefit at a time.
Students availing a free (Non-paying) University hostel are not eligible for any other free ship, scholarship, either from the University or Government.

Likes

Very good area where students get stuff they need.

Dislikes

Campus is tooo small for a student to even have lunch
Strict and actively don't support in athletics
Sometimes, dealing with admin-related processes like society budget approval or fest dates approval can be slow and confusing.

Admission:

I actually choosed this college because of travelling been eased purpose. And moreover I really don't like this campus yet I had to get an addmission here , I had applied for Christ and St. Joseph's .

We loved our college campus we enjoyed playing in our college ground.
The quality of the infrastructure was good, mainly the library was very good and excellent I and my friends liked our college library

Dislikes

Our college management not allowed us to our computer lab they allowed us to computer lab for only few days

I had applied for this college only for my bachelor degree and I got admission in this college only for the first attempt. The admission process is first we need to register in the registration form and need to pay the admission fees.

Likes

The college dance, fashion and football team is so great.
The way they organize the ethnic day and freshers.

Dislikes

Science Department is too strict with the dress code.
Their cultural intra college fest is actually dry.
We dont have a proper malayalam association for organizing onam.

Admission:

So, I applied for CUET, but before my CUET exam, I got into this college, and I applied to Mount Carmel, and I got my admission confirmed. I cracked the interview and all. I didn't choose that college because that offers environmental science and chemistry, whereas, like, I don't want chemistry. And for the admission process in my college the eligibility is 12th pass, and so, it's mostly an interview, and there is no exams. And, once you go through, like, two levels of interview, you will get that admission.

A very good place to experience and explore.

Likes

You will get to explore other country by international trips and also the passport will be provided by the college by conducting Visa interviews.
They provide you a lot of events which I appreciate but they also take entry fees by the JNC students to attend their own college fear.
The infrastructure is good and the campus is also good but the library is more nicer.

Dislikes

Your not informed about the event on time or earlier.

Admission:

I chose this college with the reference from my parents and friends. I didn't apply to any other college and i chose this because one thing it's a girls college. As a co-ed student I wanted to experience a girls college vibe. There's no writing exams to get admission into this college the first thing. I applied for this college only by filling the admission form and then i got a call by the college office staff and then when i came to college one of the teacher suggested me the course and I paid for that course. I got c BCom Tm because my percentage in 12th was 76. So they told me to take B.com TM. This is how I got into the college.

There is focus on overall development as the teachers pussh us to participate in various events either as participants or as volunteers
There are multiple clubs and houses such as House of Commerce and Management, Economics Club. You can also participate in the events organized by them.

Admission:

We could do the admission offline or online. In online admission we get an email from the college with letter of acceptance. I specifically wanted a college with was Autonomous and the syllabus of this college aligned with my interests

Bangalore University offers good academics. Scoring the pass mark is easy. But you need to put in the effort to score higher marks.

Courses such as Microbiology, Life Science, Biotechnology, Genetics, etc. are comparably easier to score good marks. The evaluation process is a little difficult for courses such as Physics, Biochemistry, Political Science, etc. Just solving the previous years' questions will not help you score good marks in these subjects. You need to complete the syllabus as well.
