Karnataka BEd Admission 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying to Karnataka BEd Admission 2025 need to complete the following eligibility criteria:
- Candidates should have a 10+2+3/4 (SLCC+ 2 year PUC + 3 or 4 year degree)
- For a government seat, the candidate must be from Karnataka.
- Candidates with a 3-year diploma or a 2-year ITI or 2-year Diploma in Vocational Education. Only passing one language and one subject conducted by IOS can be considered equivalent to PUC conducted by the Karnataka Board.
- At least 50% marks in bachelor and/or master in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanities, Bachelor in Engineering or Technology with specialisation in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or equivalent qualification.
- SC/ST/PwD will get a 5% reduction in required marks.

What are the special groups?
Defence Force
- Their husband/wife/son/unmarried daughter currently serving in Karnataka, OR
- Husband/wife/son/unmarried daughter currently serving the Defence Force and the state of origin declared at the time of joining is Karnataka, OR
- Husband/wife/son/unmarried daughter who has served in Karnataka for one year and has been sent on UT of J&K or North-Eastern parts and whose family has been permitted by the Defense authority to live in Karnataka.
- Candidates applying for this reservation must submit a soldier certificate at the time of enrollment.
Ex-Servicemen
- Ex-Servicemen means a person who has served in any rank as a soldier or non-soldier in the Indian Defence Forces such as the Army, Air Force and Navy and who has declared the native village in Karnataka when joining the service and currently draws pension such as retirement, OR
- Discharged from service as unfit for military service on medical grounds or due to circumstances beyond his control and on medical and disability pension, OR
- Those discharged from service as a result of non-voluntary retrenchment.
- Those relieved of duty after completing a specific time, and, are receiving a gratuity. However, this excludes those dismissed due to misconduct or incapacity.
- Pensioners with continuous service
- Pensioners with physical disability from military service
- Winners of gallantry awards: People who have received awards for bravery in military service. However, those who served in certain auxiliary forces (like Defense Security Corps, Lok Asyad Sena, etc.) are excluded, unless they were honorably discharged before July 1, 1987, and served at least 5 years.
Frontier Kannadiga
- Candidates who speak Kannada, Kodava, or Tulu as their mother tongue and live in areas where the language is disputed, such as South Solapur, Akkalakot (Maharashtra), or Jat, Gadhinglaj, and Kasaragod (Kerala).
- They need to submit the following documents, Language Certificate (Mother Tongue Certificate), Residence Certificate, and Government Order which governs the enrollment rules for such candidates.
Overseas Kannadigas
It refers to candidates who have
- Lived outside outside Karnataka but within India for at least 5 years as of 1st July of the year they are applying.
- Kannada, Kodava, or Tulu as their mother tongue.
- Passed the required eligibility test from a university, examination board, or institution outside Karnataka.
- They need to submit the following documents, Mother Tongue Certificate, Residence Certificate, and Kannada Medium Certificate.
N.C.C. Cadets
It refers to candidates who have participated in certain N.C.C. (National Cadet Corps) activities while studying from Class 8 to 12 in Karnataka. To be eligible, candidates must have at least an NCC 'B' Certificate.

Selection Priority for Reserved Seats
Candidates who have
- Participated in the Republic Day Camp and won a gold, silver, or bronze medal and were considered the best cadet in India.
- Attended the camps mentioned above and won a gold, silver, or bronze medal, or were recognized as the best cadet in India.
- Attended these camps in Karnataka, and have an NCC 'B' Certificate.
All other N.C.C. candidates with a 'B' Certificate will be selected based on merit for general and reserved category seats.
N.S.S. Volunteers
Those who have served at least 2 years under NSS and have obtained a certificate from the authorities.
Athletes
Candidates who have participated in state or national-level sports events during their studies, from class 8 to the completion of their graduation are eligible for this reservation. Who can be called a Karnataka candidate?
Students who can be called Karnataka candidates
- Should have completed 1st class to 2nd PUC in a Government Educational Institution or an Educational Institution recognized by the government in Karnataka. Or should have completed 7 years of education up to class 12 or equivalent. And,
- Must have passed SLCC/Class 10 or Secondary PUC/Class 12 Examination in Karnataka itself.
- SLCC or PUC students who have directly registered for the exam or studied in NIOS (and passed), do not have to submit certificates of 7 years of study, instead submit residence certificates proving 7 years of stay in Karnataka. Such candidate's mark sheet must be marked ‘Private Candidate’

The Karnataka BEd Admission 2025 process is a fully online application. The steps to apply are:
- Submit an online application using the official website.
- Upload the necessary documents and select a nodal centre for future offline document verification.
- Select the colleges in order of preference. The final seat allotment will be based on this preference list.

Karnataka BEd Admission 2025: Counselling/Seat Allotment Process
The counselling process for Karnataka BEd Admission 2025 begins after the merit list is released. The number of rounds of counselling that are held depends on the number of seats available, and candidates applying.
The candidates are allotted seats based on the order of preference submitted by the candidate. After the 1st round of seat allotment, candidates are free to choose to enrol themselves in the allotted college or proceed to the 2nd round without seeking admission. Similarly, candidates are free to not accept the allotted college and proceed to the next round even for the following rounds.
Enrollment
- Candidates who wish to enrol into the college allotted to them, can log in using their USER ID and use the accept option to proceed to the payment option, generate a challan and pay the fee at any SBI Branch.
- Candidates should submit the admission fee payment receipt from SBI Bank to DNC (District Nodal Centres).
- After this, an admission slip will be issued to the candidate at the DAC (District Administration Centre)
- Candidates who have received the admission slip need to get enrolled in the college within the specified date.
- In case the candidate fails to enrol within the stipulated time, their admission will be revoked.
- In case the candidate does not want to get admission into the college allotted to them they can reject the allocation and proceed to the next round.
- Candidates will be allowed an option to change the college selection list during this period.
