LSR Delhi Courses and Fees FAQs

Ques. Are there any extra charges for practical subjects at LSR?

Ans. Most courses at Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR) use the same standard fee structure, no matter what subject you pick. Even for practical heavy courses like Psychology or Statistics, there is no separate “per-subject lab fee” listed for every student — only occasional extra “lab or improvement fees” which are small and mostly for optional facilities.

Ques. Does LSR take donations or management quota fees?

Ans. No, LSR is a constituent college under the University of Delhi (DU), so it follows the normal DU admission and fee rules only. There is no official thing like “management quota,” “captation fee,” or mandatory “donations” for regular admissions in LSR. If someone asks you for extra donation money, better treat it as unofficial or maybe even fraud/misinformation.

Here’s what Andri Siya has to say about the college.

“Lady Shri Ram College offers a supportive, empowering environment with excellent faculty, strong placements, and rich academic exposure. The political science curriculum is well-structured, with active internships and vibrant campus life. However, infrastructure, AC facilities, and inter-college interactions could be improved.” Read More

LSR Delhi Admission 2026

LSR Delhi's most popular courses include BA and B.Com. LSR Delhi Admissions are done based on the CUET UG Entrance Exam, along with CSAS Counselling. The eligibility criteria are that students must have passed 10+2 in any stream.

  • Register on DU CSAS Portal

Students have to make an account on the DU admission portal. Use a working email because DU send all updates there. Fill your personal details carefully, even small mistakes can delay the whole admission process.

  • Pay the Registration Fee

After filling out the form, you need to pay the online fees. Many students forgot this step, and their form stays incomplete. So, better double-check your payment status to avoid problems later.

  • Give CUET-UG Exam

LSR only requires the CUET score for admission. Choose CUET subjects wisely according to the course you want in LSR.

Example: For Psychology or Economics, you should pick the related CUET subject; otherwise, you will not become eligible.

  • Check CUET Result and LSR Cut-off

After the results come, DU releases cut-offs for every college. LSR cut-offs are mostly high, so students should try for strong CUET marks. Keep checking the DU website regularly because rounds open and close very quickly.

  • Select LSR + Course

If your score matches the cut-off, log in to the DU portal and choose LSR with your course. You must do this in the correct round; otherwise, you may miss the seat, and then you will regret it later.

  • Upload All Documents

Upload clear scan copies of Class 10 certificate, Class 12 markshit, ID proof, and category certificate, if any. Upload in the required size only because sometimes the portal rejects a big file or shows an error.

  • LSR Verifies Your Documents

LSR faculty, check your documents online. If something is wrong, you might get a message to re-upload. So keep checking your dashboard every day, many students miss updates and face issues.

  • Pay the Admission Fee

After LSR approve your admission, pay the college fees online quickly. Seat is confirmed only after fee payment, not before that.

  • Physical Verification (After Admission)

Later, the college will call you to check the original document. You must bring all certificates and ID proof. This step finalises your admission completely.

LSR Delhi Admission FAQ

Ques. Can I change my course after taking admission in LSR through CSAS?”

Ans. Yes, but only within the CSAS rounds. DU lets you upgrade your course or college if your CUET score matches a higher preference in later rounds. But once you “freeze” a seat or the rounds close, changing becomes almost impossible. So choose carefully in the beginning.

Ques. “Do I need to visit LSR physically during the admission rounds?”

Ans. Not during the online process. CSAS admission is fully digital, filling forms, uploading docs, verification, payment, and everything happens online. You only need to visit the campus after your admission is confirmed for final physical document checking. So don’t worry if you live far away during the rounds.

LSR Delhi Cutoff FAQs

Ques. “If my CUET score is slightly below the LSR cutoff, should I still apply?”

Ans. Yes, definitely apply. LSR cutoffs sometimes drop by a few points in later rounds, especially Round 2 or 3. Many students get in even after missing Round 1 cutoffs. Just keep your choices unlocked and keep checking updates, DU rounds change very fast.

Ques. “Does LSR give any relaxation in the cutoff for girls or outside Delhi students?”

Ans. No, LSR doesn’t give extra relaxation for girls because it’s already a women’s college. Also, DU does not give a special advantage to outside-Delhi students for CUET-based admissions. Only reserved categories like SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD get the official relaxation as per DU rules.

LSR Delhi Placement FAQs

Ques. Do first-year students at LSR get internship opportunities or only final-year students?

Ans. Yes, even first-year students can apply for internships. LSR’s Placement Cell shares internship openings throughout the year, especially from startups, NGOs, media houses, and consulting companies. Final-year students get more chances, but first and second years also get plenty of early exposure.

Ques. Are placements only good for Commerce and Economics students at LSR?

Ans. No, placements are strong across many departments. While Econ and Commerce students do get top consulting roles, English, Psychology, Political Science, and even History students also get jobs in research, HR, content writing, policy work, consulting, and NGOs. LSR’s brand name helps in all streams.

LSR Delhi Ranking FAQs

Ques. I want to apply to LSR. Does ranking really matter for my course selection?

Ans. Honestly, when I was checking LSR, the rankings confused me a lot. But what I realised is that rankings matter only to understand the overall reputation. For choosing a course, I looked more at faculty, placements, and student reviews. LSR is strong across Arts, Commerce, and Science, so rankings help, but they shouldn’t be the only thing deciding my choice.

Ques. I’m worried, will LSR be too competitive for someone like me?

Ans. I had the same fear when I thought about LSR because everyone says the crowd is super smart. But after reading student experiences, I felt it’s competitive in a healthy way. People focus on academics, but also help each other out. If I stay consistent and manage my time well, I think I can survive and even enjoy the environment.

LSR Delhi Campus & Facilities FAQs

Ques. I want to know, can I bring my own laptop and use it in classrooms or labs at LSR?

Ans. Yes, you can bring your own laptop. Most classrooms have Wi-Fi and projectors, and computer labs let you connect your devices. Sometimes the network is slow, but I still find it helpful for assignments and group work. It’s better than relying only on college computers.

Ques. “I’m thinking about staying in the LSR hostel—are the rooms shared or single?

Ans. At the LSR hostel, most rooms are shared with one or two other girls. There are basic furnishings, Wi-Fi, and a mess. I feel it’s safe because the college has strict rules. Single rooms are rare, so you mostly share space with roommates.

Student view on course curriculum and syllabus

  • The course curriculum for history honours is quite comprehensive and full fledged. I feel that the depth knowledge of every topics and subtopics is what influenced me to choose this course. As the code of history does gives u the knowledge of past but it also gives u the perspective of present scholars as well.
  • History curriculum is designed in such a way that ut give clarity of various things. However there's always a scope of improvement and here I would suggest to extend the time period to cover the curriculum as its quite burdensome to complete the syllabus of 3 core papers along side 4 other papers in juts 4 months. The exams are held smeestwise. Once in 5 months. However students must be given at least 6 months to cover the curriculum.

Internship opportunity provided by the college

  • There are various internship opportunities given, intact we have a separate society for providing internship to interested students. Various know and big companies also provide internship in our college and selection process is free from unfairness and diplomacy. Every department has its own internship head for the smooth conduction of internship and placement processes.

Yearly fees structure of the college

  • The fee Is 18000 per year, but I get a freeship of 12000. So from 18000 that I pay as my tuition fee 12000 is returned. The freeship is based on merit as well as category and economic condition and need of the students. Apart from tuition fee, lots of other charges are applicable but it lines under personal expense of a student like accommodation and footings etc. The institution is not providing any of it right now.

Annual fest and various activity in the campus

  • The campus life at LSR is amazing. We have an annual 3 day fest Tarang every year , apart from it w have annual diwali mela during the time of arrival of diwali. We have Nexus and kala which are a Nss fest. Apart from that we have several other departmental fests happening throughout the year. We have veerangana as annual fest of NCC. We have DBR annual sports fest.
  • We have various engaging societies such as classical dance, music, choreography, enacts, English debating society, MUN, quiz society, western dance society, drama society. We have several NSS societies which ar social services ngos, etc.

Admission process and eligibility criteria

  • The admission process included giving CURT exam , and the eligibility for the same was 50% above marks scored in class 12th, with any considered institution. The application form is available on Internet any website. Application fee depend upon the category, and is approx 150-200 for general category . The last date for application is 26th March.
  • I belong from general category so I did not availed any reservation benefit, however there are respective reservation schemes applicable to the particular categories. This exam is conducted once in a year, however it is possible that it could be held twice in a year but there is no confirmation on the same. The difficulty level of exam at my time was moderate. I had economics, business studies, physical studies and English as my exam subjects . The area for improvement in admission process which I would suggest is the time taken from application form filling till college allotment is to much which should be reduced as it wastes lots of stud.

Admission:

I applied to Delhi University, banaras hindu university and vanasthali vidyapeeth but my first preference was du only that too the top colleges like lsr , hindu college, miranda house, kmc, ramjas. I wasn't rejected anywhere . I had decent marks so I cleared the cut offs of all the colleges (that year admission was based on 12th percentage) .Among these I chose lsr becz of its first ranking in political science course. Lsr is one of the best colleges for humanities and commerce courses and for political science it is number one. And it's brand value , high placements also made me choose it. Now since the introduction of new education policy, admission is completely based on common University entrance test(CUET) . Cutoffs are high for lsr . It's usually more than 700 for all the courses. The admission process is all smooth and entirely online.

Admission:

This college was at the top in my preference list and I got it in the first round itself that's why I didn't have any chance to look at other options. The admission process is simple you simply need to appear for the CUET examination which is held once in a year. You can appear after your 12th. Students from all the stream can opt for journalism as it is multi-disciplinary. The exams are hheld for over a week in different slots. Once the result is out you need to apply on DU's portal making a list of all the college and courses that you are targeting in the order of your preference. After that wait for the results to be announced. There are 3 rounds usually. The cutoffs are high for all the courses in LSR you need to score 98+ percentile belonging to general category while the cutoff for reserved category is a little low.

LSR definitely as why would a girl even think of applying elsewhere after topping her state. All state toppers are here and that's the beauty of LSR. However topping charts in 12th is not enough as students also have to be top in CUET to get admission at LSR.

LSR accepts admissions based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) Scores. LSR Statistics was on the top of my Preference List because of the college's brand name and also the course's growing importance in the world of AI and tech. It seemes best to fit my personality and I trust LSR to groom me into the best version of myself. Additionally, LSR is in South Delhi's most posche area which makes it safer and closer to my house. Away from the noise of North Campus but still gives you the experience of the BEST COLLEGE LIFE. I chose LSR and it was the best choice ever.

My 1st preference was HISTORY honours. In LSR and I was able to get into my desired course and college due to my good cuet marks, which were 788/800 inthe general category. i only applied to du and lsr was my 1st preference from the starting for a few reasons- I have always heard great reviews about the college form some school seniors and teachers aswell as online, and my father initially introduce my to lsr back in middle school and I personally liked its environment compared to other du colleges and it was a girls college which for me was more comfortable as I have been in a girls school all my school life. as I mentioned I applied only for DU especially lsr and I got admitted to it, making it my top choice and the reason why I have explained in detail above. I didn't apply to other colleges, therefore no rejections. so for admission in lsr one needs to give the CUET entrance exam after they clear their 12th exams. the current criteria for ba hons history in du is 3 papers one given in their boards + 1 language exam. after the exam one needs to fill in their preference list on the csas portal and rank all the courses they want to be eligible for from the courses which is provided to the student on there portal.then based on you marks you get allotted one of the preferences and you can challenge for updates in the further lists.

I chose lsr because it's known for its strong philosophy department and has a really good academic and student culture. I had also applied to other du colleges like miranda house, hindu, and gargi. while some of them had good departments too, lsr stood out for its overall vibe, exposure, and the kind of opportunities available through societies and events.

Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi, offers admission to its various UG & PG courses through scores in national-level entrance examinations, i.e., CUET UG & CUET PG, followed by the DU CSAS counselling process. CUET UG is conducted in March, and CUET PG is conducted in May/June by NTA every year. The registration process for admission to the college starts after the declaration of the CUET result.

Candidates who have selected Delhi University while filling out the CUET application can register themselves on the DU CSAS portal and choose [College + Course] preferences. The entire selection process is done via the DU CSAS portal for the UG & PG courses in multiple rounds. Candidates can check the seat allotment result on the CSAS dashboard. They can confirm their seat by paying the admission fee after seat allotment.

Following the allotment, students must accept the seat (freeze if satisfied), complete the document verification at LSR, and pay the admission fee to confirm the seat.
