There are approximately 300 seats available in hostel accommodation. There are different fees for single occupancy or double occupancy rooms. Fees are subject to an annual increase under UGC guidelines. Single occupancy rooms are allotted only to some final year students, on the basis of merit.

One could find a table, a chair, a bed and mattress, and an almirah in the rooms provided by PG accommodation. Also, it is very difficult to find single-person rooms and one has to accommodate at least two to four people in a room. Further, the quality of food isn't very good and one has to just make her way out of the food that is provided. The menu isn't much variable, one gets to eat whatever is available at a cheaper rate in the market. The registration process of the hostel isn't very tough and one has to just clear the Residence Hall's cut-off to get accommodation. It's highly affordable in comparison with the PG accommodations. The hostel's food is also very nice, as generally recommended by the hostellers. I rented a room in Amar colony which is just at a distance of 800 meters from the college.
I stayed in a rented room in GK1 and then at Amar Colony. the landlords at GK1 were quite greedy and they harrassed me since I was a novice in the city. they charged hefty amounts of money in the form of rent and even after vacating their premises, they didn't return my money to me. so, I would like to advice all the freshers to not rent that N block house.
No, but hostel rooms are sharing with 2 people in a room. There's no wifi but rest everything is available. Beds and all. PGs around college are a little expensive because south delhi is a little expensive area in general. My PG costed 12k per month, including food but excluding electricity charges. That would be additional 1k at max.
Yes I opted for hostel which has a very limited accomodation, but I was lucky enough to get it. In the first 2 years, its twin sharing, with decent food services and accomodation and in the third year, its a single room. There are PGs in the college vicinity, but are expensive. the expense can go upto Rs 20k a month.
Yes, I live in the Residence Hall of Lady shri Ram college. It has double seator rooms for 1st and 2nd years and single seators for final years. The admission to hostel is solely on basis of merit and reservation criterion. And total number of seats is about 280-300. Several PG's are available around LSR varying from Rs 8000 to more than 25000 per month depending upon several facilities (distance to college, veg/non veg/ no. Of meals, single/double/triple/quadruped rooms, AC/Non AC etc)
Hostel is really good. There isn't any AC. But the food is also really good. Its difficult to get a hostel though, you only get if you are an outstation student, plus it is decided on the marks you get in your class 12th,if you clear the hostel cut off, there is an interview.
The hostel is located in splendid premises and the food is said to be very good as well. However, the hostel has VERY limited vacancies. Approximately, only 3 people per course get the hostel. So that is very inconvenient. Also, the hostel rooms neither ACs nor collars.
Yes, I was residing in a hostel. Initially, in the first year, we were randomly assigned a roommate to share the room with. In the second year, we were allowed to choose our own roommate and in the third year, we were allotted a single room only on the basis of the marks we score. We used to have dorm parties and a lot of fun. The mess food was good; we used to get sweet dish too. I paid a round figure of 50,000 rupees a year. Personally, I really don’t have any idea about PGs but lot of PGs and flats were available near the college in Lajpat Nagar, New Friends Colony.
The hostel at Lsr is pretty good. The seats are provided on merit basis. The students in their 1st and 2nd years usually are given a two seater room and the students in their 3rd year are provided single rooms. The students need to maintain a certain percentage to be able to keep their seat. Since the seats are provided on merit basis, another student who applies for the hostel in different semesters will be allotted the seat of the student who is in the same course and has a lower score.
