Course Curriculum Overview

4

So my course is political science hons, and there are three DSC (DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC CORE ) in it , the dsc 1 is understanding political theory, dsc 2 is ideas and institution in Indian political thought and dsc 3 is colonialism and nationalism in india for semester 1. And in the theory exams , so to say the semester exams , the exams will beconducted for all these three cores

Internships Opportunities

5

The internship opportunities here in LSR are up to the mark as the VAPP ( voluntary agency placement program) and placement cell provide adequate internship opportunities to the students most preferably to the second and third year students. The companies that provide internship opportunities to students are McKinsey, Deloitte, Zomato,Godrej etc. Moreover, many fellowships are also provided to the students in LSR .

Placement Experience

4

So there is a placement cell here in LSR that serves as a mediator between recruiters and students and provide adequate placement opportunities for students from various departments. Also companies like Blackstone, accenture, nomura come for placements and the highest package that has been offered to a student was INR 45 LPA!

Fees and Financial Aid

For my course in lady Shri Ram College for Women, BA political science hons, I have paid 22,840 rs for one full academic year. Also , the fees for college varies ,depending upon which course you opted for In LSR .

Campus Life

4

So there are two specia fests that are organised in a year in LSR which are TARANG and NOOR , TARANG is basically an annual fest of our college and NOOR is a diwali fest , held every year. The library here is well air conditioned , occupying thousands of books of every department, along with good facility of sitting arrangement. Here , we also have NSS , NCC and NSO , as well as several other societies and NGOs to which students can be a part of and gain necessary practical exposure .

Admission

Apart from lady shri ram College for Women in my preference list , there were other colleges as well like miranda house , the hindu college etc . But as LSR was my first and top most preference, I got it in the first round and I am really happy for that.

Faculty

4

Each and every faculty in LSR is very academic qualified like most of the professors are JNU graduates so the quality of teaching is up to the mark . As I am in political science department, the faculty here is great and very helpful. They teach us so well.

Interview Experience

1

No , I didn't face any interview or group discussion, I just had to give the CUET exam and reach the cut off score of LSR to get into this college. The CUET exam was also moderate, neither too difficult not too easy

Night Life

3

There are two cafeterias in LSR, one is the regular canteen and one is of Nescafe, both the cafeterias are equally good and affordable. About the hostel facilities, I would like to add that only first year ug girl students can only get hostel. The famous hangout places near the college premises would be the park that is just at the back gate of LSR. And then there is the famous Amar colony market , where shopping can be done . So that night life of my college is quite good .

The course that I'm doing is very relevant it teaches me about every marketing term that is still applicable the teaching methods adopted for core papers is purely through marketing case studies of new age brands however for SEC VAC GE the other lower credit papers the faculty is bad as well as they don't give context before teaching and assume that their students also have the same background like humanities etc my course for my core papers is veryy good

From semester 5th students become eligible for placements. In fact they are still going on right now. Major companies that i know off which usually visit our college are Bain, DeShaw, Delloite etc. So yea majorly consultancy firms. The highest package as of now in our batch is roughly around 18LPA it could go higher maybe in the near future as the placements are still active. The percentage of students as per my knowledge is around 50% while the placements are still undergoing.

The paper has a direct influence on my future competitive examination and job.. The teaching method and course curriculum should be improved. There are unnecessary materials that has to be bought by the students which are not even helpful The timetable is not so friendly while you have a class at 8:30 then spend the whole day and take the second class at 3:30..
