Campus placements and internships in IIt kgp are managed by CDC (Career devolopment center) of IIT kgp, students are eligible for on campus internship from 3rd year while for placements from 4th year, All the big companies, quant companies give offers to students at IIT KGP, around 80+% ug students are placed on campus and many go for higher education which means almost all students are moving forward in their career, I plan to innovate in field of AI and I aim to incorporate AI in fields of finance and automation in managements of various stuff. I'd like to work on my own and be able to hire people to help scale my ideas but if it doesn't work out, I don't mind working in some MnC in field of AI or backend.

The placement scenario is quite good for circuital branches like CSE, electrical, electronics, mathematics. While other branches see lesser placements however overall the placements are good. You need to maintain good cgpa and develop good skils to get a good placement

4 yr btech students are eligible for cdc internship from the starting of their 3rd yr(5th sem) and for placement 7th sem. 5 yr dual degree students are eligible for cdc internship from the starting of 4th yr(7th sem) and for placement 9th sem. So many different profile companies came for placements like amazon, google, ibm, apple, l&t, wipro, infosys, texas intrument, etc. Highest package was 3cr and average is about 20-25 lakhs. Students are prepared for placements right from the third semester. Indusrrial training is provided to us and engineering industries like L&T, Bhel, IRS and HAL among others which are in full swing are among the colleges that hires IIT KGP students with an average package of no less than 15-18 lakhs yearly.

The curriculum is well developed and the major areas of learning are adequately addressed. It has prepared students for practice as well as for further education. I wanted to point at such aspects of teaching design that need to be developed : offerings of practical projects and a greater focus on interactive teaching methods. Exams are scheduledd but may prove to need extra assistane for comprehension of some of the contents.

From the 2nd last semester students become eligible for campus placement . Comapines like google , apple and so many visited. more than 90% students get placement. I will do job after getting a degree.

I plan to go for data profile. And if possible get enough funds from that job to pursue higher studies like mba from institutes abroad

The placements in IITKP are very good as a lot of companies visitors due to placements the Btech students are available to set for placements on the 4th year meanwhile the dual degree students are available to sit for placement in their 5th year. In my course the highest packaged in general lies around 1.5 cr per annum and the lowest package lies around 10 to 20 lpa. There are most commonly five profiles which students choose during placements the software development is the one I am choosing for and the companies offer on an average around 20LPA on a good student with good knowledge in the field of SD. The placement percentage vary from department to department in my department it generally lies around 90%. The lists of the companies can be found in the official website I believe because there are hundreds and hundreds of companies which I cannot name. Comprising of all the departments the average placement stats are around 75% of students who get placed, its decent in terms of an IIT.

Till now, the basics are being taught, I have talked to seniors of my department and they say that our course is good and curriculum is updated, it will be helpful if they included more computered learning for chemicals such as using computers to synthesize specific material or to emulate how said chemical will perform in certain situations. Our midsems started just 1 month after we came here, I think there should be more time given for the first exam as the students need to adjust as well.
