Course Curriculum Overview
- I chose chemical engineering because unlike popular opinion chemical engineering is mostly physics and mathematics rather than chemistry and chemistry wasn't my strong point. The curriculum intrigued me and the subjects were interesting and real life application based which led me to choose this course as my path of study - Chemical engineering opens doors to careers in: - Energy and environment - Pharmaceuticals and biotechnology - Materials science and nanotechnology - Food processing and consumer goods - Research and development Further academic pursuits: - Master's and Ph.D. programs in chemical engineering or related fields - Interdisciplinary fields like bioengineering, environmental engineering, and materials science - Specializations like process systems engineering, computational modeling, and catalysis. -some changes which could improve the course are: Curriculum: - Update course content to reflect industry trends and research advancements - Add interdisciplinary courses and emerging areas like process systems engineering - Incorporate hands-on and project-based learning Teaching Methods: - Adopt interactive approaches like flipped classrooms and gamification - Utilize digital resources and industry-academia collaboration - Foster research-oriented learning and faculty training on modern methodologies - the timing for exams is they are a bit too frequent. Instead of taking examinations on such short notices it would be better if the semester length was increased rather than giving 4 months of holidays
