INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY KHARAGPUR : A EXPERIANCE OF FIRST YEAR STUDENT.

The course curriculum at IIT KGP is highly structured, compehenssive, and designed to build strong fundamentals in engineering and scientific thinking. One of the reasons I chose IIT KGP was that my rank of JEE Adv. I got, in which best college with best branch I am getting is it. The curriculum is updated regularly to ensure relevance with modern technologies and industry standards. Exams are held twice every semester mid sem and end sem along with classtest and lab tests and viva in labs.During college you always feels that exams comes very quickly because your whole time is utillised in activities and sports and socities will onsume your time a lot therefore time is college slips like butter.

since, I am First yeat student I haven't information about internship opportunities available with my college, but I know alittl bir which i can describe. Internship at IIT KGP is easy to get by particapating in projects and building your own skills generally college provide internships option but many student prefer internship off campus because of huge opportunities of internships off campus. I am not aware of companies and roles offered under internships witjh stipend.

Placement process in IIT KGP is well designed and functioned every year placements are done.Generally from seventh semester placement process is started for student and every student is eligible in campus placements as per requirements of company and according to their demand students are selected for final process of interview. Multiple company visit the campus annually and some companies visits campus are Microsoft,Google,Apple,Amazon,Infosys,Tata,Mahindra,Reliance and many hundreds of company more. No. of offers made depends on requirement of company. percentage of students selected for placement vary every year but appr. 70% studenst get placemets and rest apply for off campus placements as per their interest. avg. package of IIT KGP is 19,00,000. highest package is 3,65,00,000.

YEAR-WISE FEES 1.Tution fee : 2,00,000. 2.One Time Payment At Time Of Admission : 6,000(Refundable) +6,000(Non-Refundable). 3.Semester Fee : (1,000)*2 (for 2 Semesters). 4.Hostel And Mess Fess : 1,21,000. NOTE 1 A.For SC/ST/PwD category (OR) Student with Family income less than 1 lakh have tution fee : 0. B.Any student with Family Income less than 5 lakhs have tution fee : 66,666. SCHOLARSHIPS 1.Private Scholarships.(As per merit and on basis of family income are availbale). 2.Govt. Scholarship.(Few Govt. scholarships are also available but mostly they are state wise). 3.College Scholarship.(College also provide Scholarship of amount 12,000 per year upto course). NOTE College Scholarshiop is based on Family income.

My experinace with campus life at IIT KGP has been extremely enriching and vibrant.The campus atmosphere is energetic, diverse and full of opportunities to grow academically, personally, and socially. The thing I like most is in college you surely learn how to communicate and learns skills of time management. IIT KGP hosts some of the biggest festivals in India. Spring Fest, the cultural festival held in early new year.Kshitij, the annual Tech fest held around JAn - Feb. THE central linbrary is amoung the best in the country, offering a massive collection of books,jornals, reserach publications, digital resources,and online academic databases. It provides access to national and international publications, making it an excellent place for self- learning and research activities. Classrooms are equipped with modern teaching technology. Sports and extracurricular activities are a very imporyant part of campus life. IIT KGP offers world class sports facilities including atehletics tracks ,swimming pools and multiple corts for different spirtsnoutdoor and indoor both are included. There are nu merous student run clubs and socities that cover a wide range of interstes in Tech and cultral activities.

The hostel facilities at IIT KGP are well- organized and designed to support student life comforatbly. Each student is provided with basic furniture including a bed,study table,chair,cupboard and a ceiling fan or AC in few hostels. Rooms are well-ventilleted and spacious in few hostels while some have.... High speed LAN and wi fi connectivity is offered tpo each student The mess food quality is decent and healthy, with a well-planned menu according to institute but reality is quite different but quality is ok, only problem is lack of different menu there is only paneer and potato in meal mostly and brekfast is quite good with variety. Snacks is also provided in evening. The hostel registration process is straightforward, usually completed during admission through the institute portal and document verification on arrival. Hostel fees are afforadle compared to private accomadation.

Other colleges I applied for is IIT Delhi because it is nearer to my home and is well reputed college and have a great field in Tech.I opt this college because I am interested in Tech field. I finally chose IIT KGP beacuse it is providing me better branch than IIT Delhi and I got interested in this college beacuse my teacher in myh senior schoo is also from IIT KGP they taught me a lot of stories of there college time and I talked to some seniors of college for admissionb regarding prespective so they advised for IIT KGP.Therefore I chose IIT KGP over IIT Delhi. Admission processs of IIT KGP is quite student - friendly and easier because it is fully online application process via JOSAA platform after passing JEE Mains and JEE Adv. exams and there are few documentation for admission but they are quite easy to issue. cutoff for IIT KGP is not fixed every yera cutoff floats depends on paper level.

The faculty to student ratio is very good and, and most professors are approchable and supportive. One faculty I admire most is Kamalakashy Sir. His eaching style is extremely clear and student friendly.His classrooms sessions are interactive, and make students mindset to think logically and approach problem analytically, which really helps in building a strong academic foundation. While every professor has a different teaching style, some course fell a bit fast-pased and some professors are strict in every part of course but they are only strict to make student sincere. There are two exams per semester as end sem and mid sem and two class-test and weitage of each are 50%,30%,20% respectively. Mostly all students get passed and no one fails except few(4-5) who never attend class and are not serious in academics.

Nightlife at IITKGP is a unique and enjoyable experience. While it is not atypically city-stlye nightlife with clubs and pubs, the campus has its own vibrant night culture where students hang out, study together, and relax after a long day of classes. The campus feels safe, and students often stroll around late night. Major facililities like the central library, acdemic building, and gyms genrally close by 9:00 pm. But many hostels gym and librarya nd canteens remains open till late night like2 :00 to 3:00 am. Some famous hangouts in IIT GKP are Gymkhana, ADDA, CCD, Helipad, Tikka, Hexagon are some frequently used space for night outs by students group of friends or there department.
