Likes

Teh beauty of IIT Kharagpur can never be described in words as even though it's in a remote location but it is among the most beautiful campuses one will see.
For students who need some time in isolation can go to Nalanda Complex or the old building.
There's a tech market inside our campus and we can get any thing be it mouse or keyboard or pendrive, we get everything inside the campus itself.

Dislikes

It's literally inside a village and we have not a single good market close to the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

Academics here are fit firing and I don't think one can ask for anymore than that. Academics here work out so well that no trouble whatsoever with a academics as even though toughest papers are set, all students still not just pass but pass with flying colours.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 350000 per year

Placement Experience

Students are prepared for placements right from the third semester. Indusrrial training is provided to us and engineering industries like L&T, Bhel, IRS and HAL among others which are in full swing are among the colleges that hires IIT KGP students with an average package of no less than 15-18 lakhs yearly.

Fees and Financial Aid

IIT Kho which is the third highest ranked IITs charges 3 and a half lakhs a year. The fees ain't that heavy and all the IITs have the same fees be it IIT Delhi or IIT Bombay or the others. For all SC students the IIT Kharagpur has Central Sector Scholarship Scheme through which all SC students get 30% scholarship.

Campus Life

To make memories we mostly go to night canteen as it is the heartthrob of our campus. Hall Days, Techno Fest Kshitij and Spring fest are among some of the fests that IIT KGP hosts. For sports we have cricket grounds, hockey grounds, swimming pool and what not.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels here are quite a few and 2 mess. I stay in a three seater room which accounts for 60k every year. Twice in a week we are given non vegetarian food and rest all days we have to manage with vegetarian food.

Hostel Fee: INR 60000 per year

Admission

IIT KGP accepts top 1000 students only from JEE Maine so it's a no brainer that I was not rejected from anywhere. It was not just a childhood but the one for which I prepared for JEE Mains like thousands and lakhs of students every year. I felt relieved when I finally saw my name in IIT KGP's list.

Faculty

Faculties of IIT KGP are the best in country and that's no open secret. Faculties standard is going up with every semester that we move on. All in all, faculties here a perfect package of experience and knowledge as they have both of them in abundance.

Night Life

IIT Kharagpur is in a village but many business people know the potential of business it can draw. Hence top cafes such as Kafferine Cafe which is opposite to our campus is flooded with the students. Cafe Coffee Day outlet is also there and last but not the least it's the food studio as it serves food in minutes.

Should I Choose IEM.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility for placement is from 3rd year,with tier 1 companies visiting like Google, Amazon along with mass requiters like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro etc.Last year heights placement package was 72LPA offered to 15 students and average was 2-3 LPA.

Okay college and decent placement

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is same as all low 3 tier colleges which is nearly 4-5 lpa average salary given by mass recuitor companies .The companies are infosys , ltimindtree , accenture , ibm , capgemini , cognigent , etc .The placement rate is nearly 60 to 70 percent.

Heritage Institute of Technology: A Detailed Observation

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from third year that is after 5th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and IBM are amongst the mass hirers. Almosy 80 percent of the students get placed every year and the top 10 percent of the students receive high paying job offers. The average package is around 4.86 LPA and in 2023, the highest package was 16 LPA and in 2022, the highest package was 44 LPA. Talking about my future plans, I wish to pursue my masters abroad after completing my undergraduate course here.

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).

Other colleges I applied for is IIT Delhi because it is nearer to my home and is well reputed college and have a great field in Tech.I opt this college because I am interested in Tech field. I finally chose IIT KGP beacuse it is providing me better branch than IIT Delhi and I got interested in this college beacuse my teacher in myh senior schoo is also from IIT KGP they taught me a lot of stories of there college time and I talked to some seniors of college for admissionb regarding prespective so they advised for IIT KGP.Therefore I chose IIT KGP over IIT Delhi.
