IIT Kharagpur Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The placements in my college are one of the best in the country. The average salary placed in the year 2023 in 223500INR. Students get eligible for the selection processes and placements in the 7th semester. No. of companies that came to the campus was around 300 and no.of offers made was more than 1500. The details are not made public to the student body but according to AWAAZ, the newsletter from the campus, it was 1.68 Cr from a student from ECE department. Percentage of student placed is around 83.3% from all the departments combined.My plans are still an ongoing thought process.

The first placement drive is held in the seventh semester, where various companies come to the college and interview students. A total of 1353 offers were made int the 2023-24 session. from each department 70 to 80 percent students get placed. I will sit for placements and prepare to get a job.

At IITs students are free to find placements on their own and if not then durng the final year, companies like L&T, Pum Lloyd, Tata Motors, and Mahindra Auto among others come and take students in numbers. Students plaement percntage is 100% an some students even have dual offers and hence students here are spolit for choies as placements are thsi good. Avrage for Mechanical students is aroud 20lakhs.

The placement comittee provides good amount of placements with good packages. Although more placement is needed as student intake increases every year. Apart from placements, the institute takes students into PhD courses.

For Mtech last semester itself placement starts,you can also apply off campus before that too. Many companies visit here like Indian Register of shipping, L&T etc..average package is around 10-12 lakh LPA . highest 25LPA Lowest 6LPA 100% PLACEMENT for previous batches. I like to do a career in industries.

Placement of college is really good. Furthermore, it also provides internship opportunities before placement. The CDC at IIT Kharagpur works at it's best to provide us with best placement opportunities. Highest package in IIT Kharagpur last year was 1.2 Cr , while the average package is 21 lpa. Percentage of placement here is 61%.

From 7th semester (4-year course) and 9th semester (dual degree) students become eligible for placements Career development Center (CDC), conducts a strong drive of placements at our campus. Numerous companies varying from large scale like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley..etc to startups visit our campus during placements. Many roles like software development, data science, finance, consulting, supply chain, product management are offered to students irrespective of their department.

Since branch changed system is abolished at iit kgp, we are taught our department related subjects from first semester itself, although one can opt for a double major after 1st year. The professors here are all experienced in their fields hence they teach quite well.

Students get eligible for placements from the 5th semester or final year ( depending on their degree). There are various companies visiting every year like Google , Microsoft , Amazon , BCG , Apple , Graviton , Zepto , Samsung , ITC , Accenture , Tata Steel and many more . The highest packages given are more than 100 lacs while the average package is around 15 lacs . Every company offers atleast 1,2 profiles like SDE , Analytics , Finance , Consultancy ,etc . Around 2400 students sit for placements every year and more than 1700 are placed . I plan to get a job in the placements next year and study further

As far as I know , students get eligible for placements roughly around semester 5 . Almost all the big companies visits iit kgp campus and no. Of offers made are obviously greater than the number of students . The highest package is around 2.78 crore pa and the average is around 30.53 lpa . The placement percentage would lie roughly between 80-90% . My plan is not fixed yet after getting degree
