- The environment is very peaceful. Faculty and other staff members are very helpful.
- There are many societies in campus which allows you to have good connection with your batchmates as well as seniors.
- The girl to boys ratio in my batch is 1:5 . But still, seniors are very supportive and provide equal opportunity to everyone.
Dislikes
- Academic curriculum is tough and managing your academics and extra curricular activities at the same time, sometimes become very hectic.
- Since curriculum is tough, you get really less time for doing other activities, which you want to do.
- Overall environment is good and there is a healthy competition between batchmates. But, sometimes you don't get satisfied with your own work and this lead to mental breakdown and depression for many Student.
Course Curriculum Overview
My course is Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Hence, this course allows you to have more deep knowledge in concepts of chemistry. Course curriculum is a bit tough but can be managed by continuing hard work.
Placement Experience
Placement of college is really good. Furthermore, it also provides internship opportunities before placement. The CDC at IIT Kharagpur works at it's best to provide us with best placement opportunities. Highest package in IIT Kharagpur last year was 1.2 Cr , while the average package is 21 lpa. Percentage of placement here is 61%.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fee, is around 2.5 lakhs including hostel and mess fees. There are a number of scholarship provided by institution for economically weak or needy students. Those students want to opt scholarship can directly fill the form if they are merit for it. Fee structure remain same and does not increase.
Campus Life
Overall campus life is very good. Campus environment is really peaceful. Society culture in IIT kgp allows you to have a good connection with your batchmates as well as seniors. Furthermore, seniors are very helpful and supportive. Different clubs and societies allow you to follow your passion in different areas along with your academic curriculum.
Admission
Admission to IIT for undergraduate students are done by jee advanced ranks. I had cracked JEE ADVANCED 2023 exam and hence, I got admission to IIT Kharagpur. I wanted to have deep study in chemistry that's why I chose BSc course in chemistry over here. Well, I had also filled many choices of different IITs during josaa councelling but according to my rank, I got IIT kgp.
Faculty
In my course, all the faculties are really good and supportive. They teach really well in class. Moreover, they also provide us extra materials for subject so that, we can excel in exam and gain good knowledge as well. Faculties are approachable. Like, if you write an email to any faculty regarding any load or stress, they will definitely reply you back and tell you time to meet. Furthermore, we can ask any doubt to them and they solve it really well.
