The fees for the first semester is 1.5 lacs which includes some one time charges , after that every alternate semester (Spring-1.2lacs and Autumn - 1.4 lacs alternatley). The overall fees depends on the hostel because every hostel has some different charges according to their hall budget decided every year and mess addon charges are also added . Tution fees is 1 lac rupees and hostel fees is 15 thousand on average . There is no tution fees for SC/ST candidates and they only have to pay hostel fees which is around 15 thousand and other charges of gymkhana , internet , hostel maintenance , overhead charges which consitute overall 30-35k rupees . There are various scholarships for students including merit cum means scholarship for economically weak and backward classes . The process is simple and every year all students are informed of openings , amount of scholarship varies from 50000 to 80,000 depending on the conditions .

The tuition fee( for family income> 5 lakhs) accounts to 1 lakh + Total Refundable Fee of 6000 including Institute Caution Money, Library Caution Money, and Hostel Caution Money; followed by a ' Total Onetime Fee' of INR 5700 including Alumni Subscription, Medical Examination, Student Welfare fund, Modernization Fee, Statutory Fee and Hostel Admission Fee. The Hall Establishment Charge, Hostel Overhead Charge, Hall Budget, mess charges Each semester equals to 20130,970,1000,14500 respectively Accounting to a GRAND TOTAL of 1,56,750 per Semester. Tution Fee is Free for SC/ST/PwD and for UR/EWS/OB-NCL Family income limit< Rs 1 lakh p.a. For Family income ranging between 1 and 5 lakhs, Tution Fees = 33335 Rupees. I will be paying 155000 INR as the total fees for the year 2024-25 session. Similar amounts can be expected to be paid for the forthcoming years as well. There exists many compoenents of fees which are listed below: SEMESTER WISE FEES ARE LISTED BELOW: Tution Fees: 100000 (family income more than 5 lakhs per annum) 33000 (family uncome between 1 and 5 lakhs per annum) No tution fees ( family income less than 1 lakh per annum) OR (people belonging to SC/ST Category) TIP: THERE IS NO FEES EXEMPTION DIRECTLY ON CATEGORY BASIS FOR EWS AAND OBC-NCL STUDENTS) Caution Money: 6000 INR Registration Fees: 400 INR Lab FEES: 800 INR Talking about my batchmates fees as I mentioned earlier it depends upon the category and family income limits. In IITKGP the famous scholarship is MCM Scholarship. IN that we get a full tution fees exemption of 1 lakh. And a Yearly allowance of 12000 INR.

The fee structure of the insdian institute of technology kharagpur is quite decent and very reasonable as it provides a lot of facilities inside the campus for free and inclusive infrastruture and a very skilled and competetive environment within the campus . The tution fee is around 1lakh rupees for 1 semester for general people and it is around 66,666 rupees for obc-ncl people or people having their family income less than 8lakh rupees and for people coming under the section of less than 5 lakh rupees as annual earning the academic fees is around 33,333 rupees and for people having their family income less than 1 lakh or people belonging to ST/ST caste then their academic fees is not applicable and their fees is considered as null.

Glimpse of IIT Kharagpur

The total fee is 13.5 lacs. But if you belong to lower income category (< 5 lacs), you will get fee waiver; 2/3 of tuition fee i.e., 1 lac per semester will be reduced. Also there are so many scholarship opportunities provided by different banks, MNCs, MGOs and institute. So you don't need to worry about the fees just keep researching for it. In the first year you just need to join societies of your interest and develop skills, with time you get so many employment and internship opportunities.

Hostel infrastructure is so poor don't have lifts , no prper ventilation in some hostels and majority hostels are very old. Course curriculum is not good Beccause the courses that they provide don't make us job ready we have to learn all things by

Fees include 1 lakh tution fees , 12000 of various subscrition provided by institute and around 40000 hostel and mess charges. In one year institute demands 3 lakh money and around 1 lakh is my other personal expenses. Institute provide various scholarships based on financial background and academic performance. Also we have various loan options at lower interest rates. Merit cum mean scholarship gives monthly 1000 and chanderlekha scholarship gives 50000 annualy. Campus offers TA job for MTech students with stipends.

Fee of my course agriculture and food engineering is approx 151000. And my college providing me scholarship also. They waived off my 100000 rupees. And if you are from economical weak section your fee will also waived off.

The course syllabi and the guidance from the faculty is immense.

The fee structure for BTech is around Rs 140000 per semester including mess and hostel fees which round up to around 35000 per semester. The remaining fees which is the tuition fees is around Rs 100000 per semester.
