Which is better, an IIT KGP CSE dual degree or an IIT Roorkee CSE B.Tech?

Without any second thoughts, choose IIT Roorkee CSE B. Tech over IIT KGP CSE dual degree because dual degrees are usually less preferred by companies coming for placements. It’s better to do MTech after BTech than to opt for a dual degree. The main reason is that in Masters you are open to changing your branch in case your interest goes to another field. But a dual degree means you will be studying the same field with no option of changing in between. Another major disadvantage of a dual degree is that you are not eligible to change your branch to a 4-year program irrespective of your CGPA You will see your batchmates leaving a year before you and getting offers and settling well before you. IIT KGP no doubt is older and better than IIT Roorkee in every aspect. But as far as the program is concerned, a dual degree is not worth spending so many years at all.

Which is better IIT Guwahati CSE or IIT Delhi EE or IIT KGP CSE 5yrs?

In my opinion, an IIT KGP CSE dual degree is a better option than IIT Guwahati CSE. Here’s why You get an additional degree in just one or two years You don’t have to sit for another entrance exam like GATE Companies that open profiles for BTech also open the same profiles for Dual Degree students. IIT Guwahati is also a good option for CSE. However, one should opt for IIT Delhi EE only if You are confident that one will be able to change branch within a year. This is because you will end up studying CS courses with external coaching. To secure a job, the best options are CSE or MBA. For MBA, your branch does not really matter, only your institute does.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fees structure comprises of tuition fees which is 100,000 per semester and around 40-45K for Hostel, Mess and other facilities for Undergraduate students. There are various scholarships available ehich apply on the Tuition fees. No scholarships can be availed on the Hostel and Mess Fees. There is a 100% fees waiver for the SC and ST students. Also, depending on the family income, you can get a fees waiver of 33% or 66%. There are also various kinds of scholarships available based on Academic merit too.

The academic load due to exams and class test which are held every other day

Fees are taken twice every year at the begining of every semester. The tution fees is 1,00,000 rupeees per sem along with that addition fees of 40,000 to 50,000 for hostel and mess charges. All SC/ST get 100% on tution fees. GEN-EWS OBC gets 50% off on scholaraships. There is Merit Cum Scholarship provided to students by the institute.

The fee structure is fine for all. However, there are different fee structures for different reservations. also provide scholarship opportunities, they also provide help for different internships and jobs.

There are huge number of scholarships that are offered by my college. These are for helping the economically poor students so that they can bear their expenses during their stay at college and also to help decrease the burden from their families for his educational expenses.

They are numerous scholarship provided to students apart from student loans for which they will be well informed during orientation program of iit Kharagpur. To name a few there merit cum mean scholarship and i spire scholarship for master of science students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

No, in the first year we had a common curriculum and all students studying the same course. Half we in the Physics semester and a half in the chemistry semester for the first semester and later they were swapped. No additional electives could be taken in the first year but we can take them from the second year onwards.
