I like the teachers like dr.sheena she is one of the best teacher here .
Placements and internship opportunities are good. research support is also very strong. bangalore is nearby hence a lot of companies visit for campus placements
Fees are somewhat high but a lot of scholarship opportunities are there for students, especially college fee is free for those whose annual income is less than one lakh and third for those less than five lakhs

Dislikes

There was a lack of transparency while choosing college hostel.
Hostel food is not good, actually veg mess food is not good at all
There are not lot of thing which i dislike its just two which i mentioned above.

NITK,SURATHKAL review

My college location is very good ,it has its own beach where you can visit whenever you want.
Here placement is also very good.Here average package is 17 lakh.you will for sure will be placed if you work hard
here infrastruture is on another level and the buildings that are being build are crazy .

Dislikes

Food taste is not that good in taste even my professors agrees with that but its fresh for sure.
It is very far away from my hometown .If i go by train it almost takes 3 days and if you take flight it will cost you a lot.
there is some professor you will give you marks on the basis of your background.even in some case of recruitment in clubs there is some members who are biased.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester students are eligible for campus internships. Many companies visit here every here and offer jobs such as google.amazon,meta,realiance,ola.almost every student in my college get placed. highest package was offered by google that was for 54 lakh. and average packacge here is 17 lakh. almost 95% students get placed. I am clear about my passion right now but there is more chance i will go for tech jobs

INTERNSHIPS AT NITK

The campus is beautiful and lush green. It is a big campus and it feels very good to be there. The staff is also cooperative towards us. The boys to girls ratio is 80;20in NITK.
There are people from almost every part of the country, so the social interaction is very good. The college also provides a lot of internship opportunities and in campus placements also to a large number of students.
There are many clubs which helps in our personal development. The faculties are well experienced and very helpful towards ur in our studies

Dislikes

There are a lot of snakes in the campus and it is a bit dangerous for us.
The mess staff are sometimes rude which is not a good sign.

Placement Experience:

Yes. Campus placements happen in our college.The number of students who are placed in campus is high. Students are eligible for placements from 7th semester but the internships start much earlier to that. Last year 190 companies visited NITK for campus placements with leading companies in the world like Microsoft, Amazon ,oracle, Uber, samsung Adobe etc. 87% of the students got in campus placements lst year. For civil department 54.75 lakhs per annum was the highest package and 18 lakhs was the average package. There were students who got 1cr plus package also those students were form CSE and IT Department.

Honest review

Likes

Like the campus is of 300 acres, with playground and a personal beach of its own.
Then the professors who are well learned.
Also the alumni network with good seniors and club in the campus which are a great way of learning.

Dislikes

The food in every mess is below average, especially at nights.
We need to share a small room with 3 students in first year then with 2 in second year
The professors only read ppt and we need to study by ourselves

Course Curriculum Overview:

Like the curriculum to be honest is the same from the best 25 years, so much of the subjects which you study won't help you at all, only few like cad, thermodynamics would be useful and rest skills you will have to study on your own and exams are easy like you can score above 8 cgpa just by studying 1 week before the exams.

NITK surathkal: A Comprehensive Review

Here I like the campus, the buildings are good looking.
The private beach belong to this college is like wow.
I like the playground, gym room, swimming pool etc.

Dislikes

The weather in this area is what I hate mostly.
Friends are good but sometimes because of language barriers you will get neglected and miss some opportunities.
If you don't know how to speak english then it will effect you in placement that's what we from northern region face problems

Placement Experience:

Placement season is going on, and it's pretty good here. But I am preparing for higher studies in mtech in mechanical engineering. So I am little away from this. More than 170 companies visited till now, and still 6 months there. According to last year data 93 % students get placed.

One of the best colleges in south india

Likes

National institute of technology Karnataka is the only college in India which has a private beach and it's a very good place to hangout with friends
Pleasant weather here only summer and rainy season is here no winter is there
Big campus and new classroom makes the experience far better

Dislikes

Girls is to boys ratio is less like for every batch of 80 students there are roughly 20 girls.
Relevance of course curriculum. Its too much hectic
Electricity cut is there and there's no generators for hostels

Placement Experience:

Placement are not that good not that bad for this year as the recession hit like for example this year civil engineering placement percentage for whole batch was 47% which is way too less. I don't know about the employability plans after completing the course.

THE LIFE OF NITK

Likes

There will be events for every week and it is very good
There is a beach in our college which is nice to explore
There is a good placement in our college

Dislikes

Infrastructure is not soo good as it is a old college
The faculty staff are so strict and some are good
As we'll be having events every week we don't have time to study

Placement Experience:

For 6th semester or 7 th semester we'll be eligible for campus placements Our college provide very good placement as it is the top 2 NIT and Top engineering college in Karnataka The highest package was 55LPA and Average package was 18LPA

NITK: The college for the best

Likes

Good infrastructure and maintenance, the hostels are kept well and the mess is also clean and hygenic
There is newly made sports complex, swimming pool and many other clubs(both technical and non technical) for students to improve their skills and learn something new
The campus is pretty safe, with block timings and campus timings, there are regular checks around the campus, ensuring no imposter enters the college

Dislikes

The evaluation is continuous, which makes the student hard to focus on extra curricular activities.
In semesters, the college is working even on saturdays, to avoid the stay here when there is water scarcity. Accelerating the semester makes it hard to catch up
The weather is very hot and humid. You need an umbrella every day, either of a rain or because of the sun

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements by the start of the 7th semester, and the internships by the 5th semester. Since Mangalore has many MNCs, most of the campus drives start with those companies. We have an average package of 18LPA and it varies according to each branch of engineering. Mostly all the computer science-related branches have 23LPA as their average and the core branches have 14LPA. Almost 95 per cent of the students get placed. The highest package has even crossed 50LPA.

Likes

The Events organised in the campus either cultural or technical.
The ratio of the boys to girls like 4:1 and out of 8800 students nearly about 1600 girls are there...
Prime location of the college nearby beach. Very good facilities of daily utilities are available in the campus only...

Dislikes

The syllabus is not tough but lengthy, the classes and works aur too hectic here you will able to get enough to explore new things, see new domains work on your interests...
Very small semesters are there nearly about 4 months odd sem and 25 days vacation after it in even sem it is even shorter than the odd one just of 3-3.5 months and rest are holidays nearly about 3.5 months vacation.. Such irregularity in conduction
The old pattern of labs conduction, record prep. is going and all are still following the old rough protocols for it... by the college that should be renewed time by time either lab program or syllabus.

Placement Experience:

From 4 year placement is available for 6sem end and 7sem starting... Civil core related placements are mostly towards govt. services oriented and less towards private sector...but for the other branches circital and others the placement is running low right now because of the heavy recession is going right now... You are able to get the degree but even after getting nice knowledge and being skilled you are not able to placed due to circumstances...

Likes

Infrastructure is one of the best. There are many libraries and other good buildings.
There are night canteens and food courts and 10s of other shops inside the campus.
Top tier faculties always ready to help us or clear our doubts.

Dislikes

Mess food is decent but not so great. Can improve taste.
Boys to girls ratio is not so good. It’s around 3:1 to 4:1
Block timings restriction for 1st years at start is 7pm.

I think from 7th semester students will be eligible for campus placements and from 5th semester will be eligible for internships. I think the average package was around 18 lakhs . More than 90% of students who took part in placements got placed. It offers many courses compared to other colleges.

Our college has its Personal Beach which I definitely like
Hostel washroom and washbasin gets cleaned on daily basis.
College fests (Engineer and Incident) are amazing and exciting especially for freshers.

Dislikes

Infrastructure needs a little work because most of areas have open sewers and it's smells a lot which attracts snakes especially in rainy season.
They should provide washing machine facility in hostels for students because now a days it is most common in every college hostel.
Some professor simple read presentation in class instead of actually teaching.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement are decent for my college , every year we can see the graph rising and especially for the students of computer science department and artificial intelligence department. Students are eligible for campus placement from 7th semester. Every year more than 70 company visits for campus placement and make exciting offer like 30-40. Highest package is 72 lac (On Campus) by some finanace company but average package is 11-12 lac and median is 8-9 lac. 70 percent of students gets placed while others opt for higher studies (MTECH , MBA , PHD etc) while some fraction still gets unplaced. My plan after degree is to go for MBA after giving cat examination in 2027.

NIT Surathkal is one of the premium engineering colleges in India. It has an amazing faculty pool with top-notch infrastructure. Many big companies visit the campus for placements. The campus is huge with all basic amenities like hostels, health care centers, sports facilities, etc. Students are provided with 24/7 internet facility and also basic facilities like water and electricity.

The campus life is very dynamic with many technical and cultural events taking place on campus. Your peers are mainly people who couldn't make it to IITs but are very talented. Moreover, you get to experience the breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea.

NIT Surathkal organizes one of the best Cultural Fest Incidents every year. Additionally, many startups have been founded and co-founded by NITKians which has improved the startup culture to a great extent. Ultimately, college is more about what you learn and experience!
