Course Curriculum Overview

4

To be honest I choose this course because I got this in my josaa counselling and not because I wanted it. Chemical Engineering is an intresting course, it gives us knowledge about fluid , chemical reactions , how the chemical industry work , how to prepare products in bulk , about power plant etc so I can say it prepare us well enough for real-world applications and further academic pursuits like research field. The area in which course curriculum need to improve is by changing the the subject to teach in every semister means some subject like transport phenomena should be taught in 4th year but they are teaching in 2nd year. The frequency and timing of exams are decent , most probably they happen on given time and it's difficult for those who has not prepared but easy to moderate who has studied and understood the concept.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship is offered from 3rd year onwards and it is both paid and unpaid , company like TCS , Accenture , Tata , Reliance , Nvidia etc offers internship and provide a decent stipend. Project are good and with the help of Professor and seniors we can do it easily.

Placement Experience

4

Campus placement are decent for my college , every year we can see the graph rising and especially for the students of computer science department and artificial intelligence department. Students are eligible for campus placement from 7th semester. Every year more than 70 company visits for campus placement and make exciting offer like 30-40. Highest package is 72 lac (On Campus) by some finanace company but average package is 11-12 lac and median is 8-9 lac. 70 percent of students gets placed while others opt for higher studies (MTECH , MBA , PHD etc) while some fraction still gets unplaced. My plan after degree is to go for MBA after giving cat examination in 2027.

Fees and Financial Aid

Per sem fee : 62500 + 10000 + 40000 = 112500 where 62500/- is tution fee 10000/- are other fee ( lab , development , registration etc) 40000/- is mess and hostel fee For sc/st : tution fee is 0/- For ews/obc : tution fee is 2/3 of original (if family income is between 1 to 5 lac) else tution fee is 0 (if family income is less than 1 lac)

Campus Life

4

2 college fests happen every year, "Engineer" in month of October and "Incident" in month of March. You will get every variety , joner of book in library ( from educational to historical to spiritual to storybook etc). Classroom are decent with a whiteboard , a projector , a podium , fans ( No AC facility ) , water cooler , clean washroom. Sports activities : Inter NIT , cricket , football , yoga , basketball , Kabaddi , chess etc Extracurricular activities : NSS , NCC , MLC Courses ( photography skills , communication skills etc ) , electives etc. Student run social groups and clubs are Rotaract group and club , student Portal is iris portal which help students to to make it student life easier.

Hostel Facilities

4

Sharing room facility are there for 1st year and 2nd year students while singing room facility are for 3rd year and 4th year students. Facility provided in room is a bed , fan , mirror , table , chair , lan facility , cupboard for single student. Mess food quality is good , it has variety ( veg , non-veg ) , menu has variety , we get icecream on every Monday , Wednesday , Friday afternoon and something we have mega-dinner. All registration process and fee payment for hostel and mess are from online Portal ( IRIS Portal ) and it is quite affordable ( Rs 40000/- ) For renting a room we have to go to Surathkal or Mukka ( which is nearest to college ) otherwise if you are looking room a little far then you should go for Mangalore city .

Admission

I didn't choose this college , I got it in josaa counselling , I wanted IIT Gauwhati . I was not eligible to take admission in IIT GAUWHATI because of less marks in my jee advanced examination , I was not qualified because of 2 marks in 2023. Admission process is simple. Student from India comes in NIT Karnataka after clearing jee mains examination. Eligibility criteria is that you should have more than 75 percent in both 10th and 12th board examination. Mostly for my college the cutoff is under 30000 rank in jee mains at which student can easily take admission through josaa counselling. Overall admission experience is good.

Faculty

4

Most of the Faculty members are friendly and they listen to students and help them in their problems and doubts regarding subject , hostel , internship etc but there are some professor who don't even care , they simply come to class to read presentation and take attendance and leave , also they set difficult paper and do very hard checking. The faculty which I like is Prof. Nagaraja from physics department because he is chill , cool and very friendly. The faculty which I dislike is Prof. Ashraf Ali because of the above reasons. There are 4 examination in semester :- quiz 1 , mid-sem , quiz 2 ,end-sem. All of them are easy to moderate level of students are prepared but it will be difficult for them who is not prepared. In every semester 2 to 3 students fail in atleast 1 subject . The course curriculum is relevant to students as well as faculty.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell is very active in our college. Every year more than 30+ companies come to our college for recruitment . Our seniors from 7th semester get placed in many companies and before getting placed in the company our college offers internships to every student. Around 80 % of the students get placed in companies and work efficiently. The average package for civil engineering is 2.5 lakh per annum.

Placement Experience:

RIT's placement scenario is very good, even for the most unpopular branches such as Civil Engineering. Starting from the 7th semester, students are allowed to participate in campus recruitment, and companies come to the campus for the entire final year. The major recruiting companies are L&T Construction, Shapoorji Pallonji, Brigade Group, Sobha Developers, Atkins, PWD, and Infosys for the non-core sector. Civil students on an average get ?5–6 LPA as salary, and the highest offer is usually in the range of ?12–15 LPA, depending on the company and the position. Almost 70–80% of Civil students are placed, while some of them go for higher studies or government examination.Site engineer, design engineer, planning engineer, survey engineer, and trainee engineer are the core positions that are offered. Also, non-traditional roles in IT and consulting can be taken up by those who are not interested in core engineering profiles.I will first acquire some work experience in the industry after completing my degree and then will pursue a master's degree in structural engineering to gain further specialization.

Students become elegible for placements from 7th sem onwards but we are encouraged to do internship before final itself. Most of the companies that come here aren't t1 or even t2. Highest probably would be 12L only if the student is exceptional but most would secure a package 4-6. And the percentage of students getting placed is <50%
