There many professors who are talented and equally good and God at teaching skills but some of the professors are just teaching for the name --> zero understanding no output ... We can't even complain against him because if knew the students who complained about them he is going to ruin the marks of different subjects that comes under his department... (I am not mentioning the name of faculty just for the safety reasons...) The exam patterns are also kind of woogy as we are having really short sems and the exams are just spreaded throughout the sem in not much gaps... Weightage Quiz 1- 10% Mid sem - 30% Quiz 2 - 10 % Assignment 1- 5% Assignment 2- 5% End Sem - 40% I think there will be only two exams should be there... As sem is short 3.5-4 month one mid sem in theid of the sem and the other end sem after 1.5-2 month gap (at the end of the sem) it will give more time to explore or study about any topic deeply...

The faculty members in our college are highly qualified. We have multiple labs in our college which helps us to visualise our topics of interest. The faculty is very approachable, if we have any doubt and even message or email the professor we will definitely get a reply. The exams are pretty easy.. most people pass them, except a few, they are also given another chance to rewrite.. but if we don't pass the 75% attendance criteria we do not get to write the retest

Faculty to student ratio at NIT-K Surathkal is about 1:60 for theory classes and nearly 1:10 for practical classes . NITK Surathkal offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Engineering, Science, and Management. The institute has 14 departments and 11 support centers As I'm new here, i don't have very hard feelings or connection for any professor so I can't say if i like or dislike anyone But the professors here are most likely same as elsewhere. In one semester, there is one-two quiz, one midsem and end sem exam for each subject. Marking scheme varies for quiz. Midsem is of 50 Marks, and end-sem of 100 marks. And mostly based on course related books only.

Most faculty are very nice and approachable, they can be very helpful when required wnd they are ready to solve doubts that come their way. However some faculty can be problematic especially from the mechanical department like professor merwin herbert

The faculty in this campus are honestly not bad. All of them are phd holders in their respective departments. They are very knowledgeable and easy to approach and talk to if you have any enquiries. The dean of academics is one of the best professors in this campus. He teaches mechanics for civil, meta and mining students and if you have him then your fundamentals in that subject will be crystal clear. There are two main exams which is mid sem and end sem. They consist of 25% and 50% of ur grade. End sem is generally made harder. Then there are two quizzes one is before mid sems and one is before end sems. The weightage for these quizzes varies based on subject and prof. Then assignments also can be given which is added to you total marks.

Few faculty are very student friendly and few are very strict it depends and varies from dept to dept. The faculties me n my friends liked were Prabhu sir,Sri Hari sir,NSV Sheth sir. Exams were conducted in the following way Quiz -1 ,mid sem, quiz -2,end sem. Sometimes instead of quiz assignment may be given it depends on faculty. The level of toughness of exams varies. It is mostly moderate - tough.

The faculty to student ration is less than expected, somewhere 1:40, but faculties here are good, approachable. Ece branch faculty members are so good, u can approach them at any time and discuss ur issues. Maths department faculties can be more better, its like hitting your head to a wall while talking to them. We have 2 quizes, 1 mid semester exam and 1 end semester exam, but some professors put randomly surprise quizzes, to get some normal 8+ cg, u don't have to study that much, its easy to get, but 9+ cgpa is little more than easy. So listening all the classes and studying like good enough of time will give you good enough cgpa

If you consider a particular branch te no of students will be around 60 and no of professors can be around 20 .around 1/3 rd cn be expected ratio to the faculty and stuent. Most ,of the faculties are friendy in nature and help whenever a student have soubts in any of the course. Most of the profs create a proper ambiance in between student and himsef/herself.

Nearly every single faculty member here is from an IIT or an equally prestiguous institute. They have immense knowledge in their field. Mechanical professors are strict in the 75 percent attendance mandate but otherwise guide us in major and minor problem statements. Exams are very hard and even the quizzes can be mind boggling. Course curriculum gets updated based on requirement. Failures in each course are quite a few since exams are set of a high standard.
