- The ratio of the boys to girls like 4:1 and out of 8800 students nearly about 1600 girls are there...

- The syllabus is not tough but lengthy, the classes and works aur too hectic here you will able to get enough to explore new things, see new domains work on your interests...
- Very small semesters are there nearly about 4 months odd sem and 25 days vacation after it in even sem it is even shorter than the odd one just of 3-3.5 months and rest are holidays nearly about 3.5 months vacation.. Such irregularity in conduction
Hostel Facilities:
Hostel facilities are also good, but the mess food need to be improved as we students are paying 30000/- for 3.5 -4 month sem for the mess and not getting value for money thing then that's not an good impression regarding the mess facilities...all basic facilities are provided in the room.

Hostel Facilities:
For first year, room is triple sharing, with 3 beds, 3 shelves, 2 fans, 3 wardrobe, 3 study tables, 3 lan ports. Meal quality and taste is decent and cleanliness is maintained . Registration process for hostel happens during the time of physical reporting and requires the documents stated in the brochure.

- First thing I would like to address is beach . NIT K have its own private beach .where you can rejuvenate yourself if u are looking for peace wit the hectic day.
- Seondly , I would like to address on the Placements .NITK have diverse placeement scenario in various domains such as in core and Tech roles

- Things I dislike is weather. Since there is a beach over here ,You can expect high humidity with respect to your home towns and residence
Hostel Facilities:
Till 2nd year three room sharing is being accomodated .Later on, In 3rd and 4th year Single rooms are being alloted . Single rooms are too good and Newly built hostelsa are also too good.Hostel registration will e done onn NITK's portal named IRIS .Where, you need to pay fees and pay acccording to the institute decidedd amount , Which will be around 8k per sem . Whereas, Mess food is delicious some time, You caant expect better food in Autonomous Government colleges. Mess food fees will be around 25K Per sem. where You will be getting Breakfast, lunch, Snacks andd dinner. where Usual Breakfasts are being provided such as Idli ,Dosa , Vada and more .In Lunch Rice , curry, Curd ,Dal ,Pickle, Roti and Sambaris being provided and similarily in Night . But Sun, Wed and Fri you will ve getting special (Chicken in Diner ,Icecream in afternoon and Badam Milk during snacks)

Hostel Facilities:
The hostel rooms have a bed , a cupboard and a study desk for each student . The rooms are thrilled sharing for the first year , double sharing for second year and single rooms for the 3rd and 4th year. The meals in the mess are not so great for the first years but it gets better over the next years. There are food courts and night canteens available around the campus and a delivery app to deliver food right to ur hostel Students also have an option to stay outside campus as day scholars

- Nice, lush green campus, excellent atmosphere during rainy season which prevails for over 6 months a year.
- Situated at a very good location from where you can explore various tourist and famous places present in souyh India.
Dislikes
- Bicycles get rust very easily because it is situated in a coastal area.
- Administration and management is very poor. Even small cases take months or sometimes years to be resolved.
Hostel Facilities:
Hostel facility is above average but washrooms suck. We get shared accomodation till second year and after that single occupancy is provided. Hostel plus mess rent is around 32K per semester. Mess food quality is decent enough, just don't opt for Mega mess at any cost.

- Our mess food is not good as expected. But you can have food in food court or In night canteen Though.
- You should have laptop, because if you enter CCC no one would be there. So it would be boring to enter computer rooms.
Hostel Facilities:
Our hostel facility are quite good but may be doesn't met my expectations. We will have fan, cupboard, one bed, desk. You should have current heater if you want to bath in hot water. We have two type of mess, veg mess and non veg mess. Veg mess is normal, you would get some soya Gobi and many sweets and fruits. In non veg mess except Tuesday everyday have atleast one non veg meal either it will be chicken or egg. It's absolutely affordable for room because it's just 9 k for whole year but you should decide about mess it's 30 k per sem.

- Fees is also very high. They take fees of one semester as 6 month but semester is completed in 3-4 months . And they not refund the left money.

In first year double sharing room with personal cupboard and study table and chair. And in 2nd year u can choose for sharing or not. Meal quality is average Hostel registration is also fone at the time of admission I have no idea about pg and room .

So in last year they have built 2 new hostels for the boys and one for girls which is so much comfortable and morden as compared to other .. also other hostels are quite good you will get water cooler in each and every floors and they also provide hot water in washroom. So in mess you will get two types of mess one for vegitarian another is for non vegitarian mess . So I have opted non vegetarian mess in that mess they are providing chicken on alternative days also they are providing paneer and eggs . In every month's last week they offer grand dinner which is good part of mess they are given 4 types of chiken and sweets , icecream. Registration process for hostel and mess will be online you can register through the site which you will get through mail . It is the simplest prodecure

My room is very good but no ac room so little bit heat I can feel. Others like water and all is good. Mess food is not good. Registration for hostel is very smooth via nitk iris app we can do and everyone easily get room. In MTech 1st students get double sharing room and 2nd will get single sharing room. Nearby nitk some good apartments are there we can rent

How is hostel life at NIT Surathkal?
Hostel life in NIT Surathkal will be a roller coaster of emotions and will leave a lasting impression on you. It will teach you more about your personality than anything. You become more flexible and responsible.
- The hostel has basic amenities one could ask for from water and power supply to Internet connections.
- The sports complex is located in the center of the campus and has many sports facilities.
- There aren’t many restrictions in timing for boys but girls have strict curfews ranging from 10 to 11 30 based on their year.
- There aren’t any separate DASA hostels.
- The bathrooms are shared and are cleaned at least once a week.
- The staff sweeps your room at least once in 3–4 days.

How are the girls hostels at NIT Surathkal?
My friend studies in NIT Surathkal and the 295-acre campus is exquisite. My friend resides in the hostel there and he has shared his experience with me.
To begin with, there are 5 girls’ hostel blocks named as follows- GH1, GH2, GH3, GH4, and GH5. The recent addition to the already existing 4 blocks, is the GH5, and it is the best one of the lot but is available to only some final year students after qualifying for the lucky draw.
Here are some more particulars:
- In the first and second year, you will have to share a room with 2 or even 3 students. As you move to the 3rd and subsequently 4th year, you will be able to get a single occupancy hostel room. The hostels’ buildings are further divided on the basis of the course you select in the first year.
- There are time restrictions though for girls, as follows- 7:30 for first-year students and 9:30 for the subsequent years.
- As for facilities available in the hostels; there is a night canteen, a mess with ice cream serving twice a week, and a shopping complex with grocery and fruit shops.
- In the room, there are chairs, a table, a steel bed, and an almirah.
All these hostels have WiFi or LAN available, but the connectivity is good only in the newly constructed GH5.
What should I carry to NIT Surathkal hostel for the first time?
Here is a list of items that you may want to consider bringing with you to your hostel at NIT Surathkal:

Hostel life is a major part of your college life and the allocation of rooms is important because it decides the kind of people you will be spending time with.
NIT Surathkal
- First-year students of NIT Surathkal are allotted 1st and 2nd hostel blocks with double occupancy rooms.
- In the second year, students get to choose a single roommate but the allotment of rooms or wings is random. If you prefer to stay in a single room in the second year you can opt for the 5th block.
- From the third year till the end of their graduation students will be allotted a single occupancy room in one of the mega towers and they get to choose their wing mates.
NIT Warangal
- In NIT Warangal, first-year boys are allotted rooms in 1.8k, the ultra mega hostel.
- The room allotment is usually random but if you want someone specific in your room, you may request the person allocating rooms.
- For the years you’ll have to book your room online on your portal.

Which has better hostel facilities, NIT Surathkal or NIT Warangal?
One of my relatives has resided in NIT Warangal hostels. Based on his experience, I can give the following information:
- NIT Warangal has Asia's biggest hostel and it is given to B.Tech, M.Tech, and BCA freshers. There are both single and double rooms.
- On the ground floor, there is a snacks corner, Amul shop, and coffee and tea shops as well. This is a hangout place for all the students.
- There is another big hostel which is given to 3rd and 4th-year students with single and double rooms.
- For girls, the hostels are not as good as the boys’ hostels.
- In the first year, you will be accommodated with 4 people in one room due to space issues.
- You will also be restricted from moving out of the hostel at any time during 1st year.
- For the second-year students, an old hostel is provided where the washrooms desperately need renovation and the rooms are not in good condition.
- For 3rd and 4th year, you might get good rooms which will be spacious and comfortable. Although new hostels are being developed, the facilities might change in the coming years.
When talking about NIT Surathkal, the hostel facilities are fine. In the 1st and the 2nd year, you will have sharing rooms. From the 3rd year onwards you will get single accommodations. Internet connectivity in the hostels is not very good. The girls are provided washing machines. There is a night canteen on the hostel premises. For boys, there are no in and out timings.
Which NITs have a lift in academic and hostel building among NIT Surathkal, NIT Hamirpur, and NIT Nagpur?
My cousin recently enrolled in NIT Hamirpur and definitely loves the state-of-the-art facilities. It provides and its modern infrastructure. It has excellent facilities in its 320 acres area which includes a computer centre, a library with over 100,000 books, an auditorium, a guest house, sports grounds, solar heaters, hostels, gym, and of course- lifts.
NIT Hamirpur has a lift facility in the departments which offer UG programs. Some more lifts have been added in some of the newly built hostels which are for students in the second year and beyond, much Iike NIT Nagpur has a lift in the new academic block and the new hostel.
Another point here, the New Hostels are for girls and boys in the first year, only.
