According to the NTA, the JEE Main 2026 session 1 correction window will open from December 1-2, 2025. This is your last chance to fix critical errors before the exam, making it a very important period for every candidate.
Candidates will be able to edit/modify certain details of the JEE Main 2026 application form. This year, the NTA authority will allow applicants to edit their identity details (for those registered with an identity other than Aadhar) and state code of eligibility.

What You Can Correct in Your JEE Main 2026 Application?
JEE Main 2026 correction window is very short (2 days), so be quick while correcting the application form. NTA allows changes to a variety of fields, but with specific restrictions to some fields.
- Any one of the names can be corrected among the candidate’s/father's/mother’s name, while the date of birth and gender can be edited.
- You are allowed to change the category, or you can re-upload the category certificate, but you are not allowed to do both.
- You can change your academic details (Class 10th and 12th) and state code of eligibility. You are also allowed to change your preferred exam centre.

Ques. Is DOB changeable if it doesn’t match my Aadhar?
Ans. Yes, full DOB can be changed, but it must match the birth certificate or 10th Mark sheet.
Ques. Can I add the B.Arch paper now, if I forgot initially?
And. Yes, you can add additional paper along with the initial one. But you have to pay an additional fee.
Ques. How many exam cities can I change to? What if my preferred ones are unavailable?
Ans. You can choose up to 4 cities based on your address and state eligibility. NTA assigns from available slots. Your preference doesn’t guarantee an exact pick.

What You Cannot Change in Your JEE Main 2026 Application?
There are certain fields you can’t edit or modify during the JEE Main 2026 correction window, such as mobile number, email address, address (permanent and present), emergency contact details, and photograph of the candidate.

Ques. My email ID is outdated. Can I update it during corrections?
Ans. No, not directly. But if it's really the case, you can email or reach out to NTA at jeemain@nta.ac.in with proof.
Ques. What happens if my category change decreases the fee? Do I get a refund?
Ans. There will be no refunds in the case of a decrease in category changes. But you have to pay the additional fee if your category change increases the fee.
Ques. Uploaded the wrong format of photo and signature. Can it be changed?
Ans. You can re-upload the signature during the correction window. But a photograph can’t be changed even during the correction window.
Extra Fees Explained: When Will You Have to Pay More?
Changing particular fields or adding some details may result in an additional fee that students have to pay. Changes will be applicable only after the successful payment of the additional fee.
- If you are moving from a lower fee category to a higher fee category, or if you add any extra paper, you must pay the additional fee.
- Remember that already paid fees will not be reimbursed in any case.
