REVIEW OF SPMCW, DU

CUET Admission and College Selection

I did apply to other colleges of delhi university however i got selected for this college as I got the score as per the required cut off of this college. I wasnt really rejected from other colleges as i only applied for DU , and i did'nt find the need for upgrading this college as i was satisfied with this one. For taking admission in this college, you must pass +2 from a recognized board and give CUET exam only in the Subjects which you had in your +2 . For my college cut off is not really high and once you get selected you need to verify your documents and pay the fees to confirm your admission. My overall admission process was easy as document verification and payment of fees took place online .

Yearly fees structure of the college

So I paid rs 8120 in my 1st and 2nd year and rs 8635 in my 3rd year. I paid rs 3935 as college fund, rs 3985 as student fund and an auditorum fees of rs 200. No other fees or charges were included other than this. The other courses are also affordable with fees being 10k for bcom and 8k for BA hons courses. There is a financial aid scheme provided by Delhi University for which students have to meet several criteria .

College fest and various activities

We usually have a fest during Diwali and Holi which is called Srijan. The fests here are low budget i must say as much efforts arent put. This time a celebrity was called in March during the fest. The books and journals are ample as it is a double storey library and students can easily access it using their library cards. You will not find unavailability of book related to curriculum for sure. There are computer labs and labs of several departments in are college but other than that you will not find any technological provisions on campus. NCC , NSS and extra curricular activities are present in college and interested students can actively take part in it. Interested students are always welcomed and appreciated . There is an on campus Gymnasium or gym also for the students.
Campus
Campus
Campus

Faculty Expertise and Examination Structure

There are more than 100 faculties and enough faculties in each department. I would not like to talk about whom i liked and whom i didnt. There are exams after every semester. Exams are moderate to diffucult depending upon your course. Mostly students are able to pass the exams. The course curriculum is up to date and keeps updating as per new education policy.

Economics and Political Science Curriculum

I was interested in economics thats why i'm pursuing economics and political science. I was alloted this college in counselling thats why i'm studying here. The curriculum does not prepare us for the real world applications at all. We study just so that we can manage to pass the exams. Course curriculum should be more job-oriented instead of just learning the matter and writing it in exams. Exams are held after every 6 months as a semester is of approx 6 months. Exams are moderate and difficulty level depends on your course. But exams are quite lengthy.

I applied at colleges such as LSR and Gargi purely because they were also girls colleges and are above ranked than my college.
