Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 157 Reviews

The college currently does not provide any hostel facilities. Students typically opt for nearby paying guest accommodations (PGs), which are abundant but can be expensive, with monthly rents around 10,000 INR for a shared room. These PGs usually offer amenities like separate sharing bedrooms, study tables, air conditioning, and common living spaces.

They follow strict rules, such as a curfew before 10 p.m., and provide freshly cooked meals three times a day. There are plans to introduce hostel facilities in the future. In the meantime, students from outside the city rely on PGs, which are conveniently located within walking distance of the campus.

The college canteen offers a variety of tasty and affordable food, accommodating up to 200 students at a time.

.Talking about the fest and functions, my college needs a little improvement in this . There are rarely any fest takes place and the one that happens is not at all exciting. . The condition of the library in the college is also very worst. There are lack of benches and desk as many students prefer to study in library the could not because the library fills with the 1/1th population of the college. But the classroom has enough seats for the students to sit and study and mostly classrooms are neat . . Apart from fest, there are many clubs that are run by the student heads like dance club, music, drama, art and many more which helps students to enhance their talents by giving them a platform.

My overall journey to the has been great. There are many events such as dancing, singing, poster-making, other competitions and webinars are being conducted time to time. The societies of the college like, eco club, dance society, singing society, other departments are very active in engaging with other colleges and activities. There are some students who run social groups, but they are being supervised by the teachers as well. They do not run without the teacher's permission. Some students share their personal experiences and college life on social media.

I like it, it is very fun. I studied in a convent school and getting into a girls college and studying there is a very different and way beyond comprehension experience. It makes a comfort place for you to express things, do whatever you like without the fear of being judged and it is overall very nice.
