Our DSE options were great. Literary Theory was provided to us at BA level which was very beneficial for preparing for CUET. Partition literature, 19th C European realism were some of the others. We had to submit one assignment (20marks) per semester and sit for a 3hour long semester examination (80marks). for the first four months, you're given the liberty to distribute your workload and will not be tested. However if you pile up everything then, the final month before sem exams will be traumatic, but that is what most of us did anyway.

The faculty members, at least the ones that had been teaching for a long while were and are amazing and they have been very understanding with valid reasons for setbacks/delays in assignments or tests as well. As for term exams, there has been a belief circling about the unfair checking of papers wherein colleges which are ranked higher undergo stricter checking while colleges which are ranked lower undergo more lenient checking. I hope there is a committee that can look into this issue and ensure fair checking for all irrespective of college ranking or course

I chose this course because of my interest in literature. The faculty of English literature is well-trained and helpful. They are always there to help their students out with topics. The semester exams are not that tough they are all about what is taught in the class.
English Lit is something which can't be explained. The love for books and the genre of love, romanticism, and tragedy is inevitable. That's why I chose English Literature Honours. The faculty is super amazing with the strength of more than 20 and students in first-year students are around 120. The teaching method is quite comprehending, teachers use smart classes for better delivery of lectures. Exams were not tough but lengthy for sure. They were not difficult. Exams were conducted online and on time as they have to be.
I chose BA English Honours as I want to become a journalist and thought that English Honours will enhance my knowledge base. The faculty-student ratio at Miranda is 1:45. The faculty is exceedingly knowledgeable and has excellent teaching methods. Exams are held semester-wise at Delhi University. A few colleges at DU(doesn't happen at MH though) even hold mid-semester exams. The difficulty level is high and marking is very tough.
Students are really competitive here. You need to up your game to be on top and beat the best. The course is not that difficult but you need to focus on your studies and not take the course lightly. The teachers are really enlightening here. They know how to behave and cooperate with their students. They are best at teaching in fact.
My course is B.A. English Hons. wherein you're taught several aspects of English language itself, there is literature which is quite interesting, the course also offers you to study about the different era od of English literature, it's forms and how it originated. The faculty members include Ms. Jyoti Nair and Mr. Omprakash Sharma two of the finest professors of Miranda House college who emphasize on a student's holistic learning through various projects based on heavy research. Miss Nair has a unique method of teaching as she takes on a student's perspective for each of her lessons and pushes them to widen their mental horizon. She's a JNU pass out with a PHD in English Literature. Prof. Sharma on the other hand uses traditional methods of teaching where he discusses important facts and give us all readings to study further. His surprise tests are exceptionally lengthy thus preparing one for the term exams well.
I choose this course because I am particularly interested in English. I love writing and reading. We have around 50 students in our class. Our teachers are all loving and hardworking. Mid sem internal test are conducted on weekly basis. Our exams were not very difficult to pass but was not easy to score good marks
