What Students Say
Likes
- I personally lovey campus and it's aesthetics. It's very clean and well maintained.
- The teaching method, atleast in my department is good. Our teachers are super chill :)
- It's a women's college, and I honestly feel so safe in the campus. Miranda is utopia.
Dislikes
- Air conditioners not working/ not installed in most classes
- Very less hostel seats, defeats the purpose of DU being cheap since pg/flats are very expensive to afford
Course Curriculum Overview
For me personally, I don't really like the curriculum of english in DU. it's very old and outdated and sometimes very boring to study. exams were okayish, the questions are more or less repeated from the pyqs.
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid around 16 thousand for the whole year, which in my opinion is very cheap for students coming from middle class background. DU provides good education at low cost, which is one of the main reasons for its popularity.
Campus Life
There's our annual college fest called Tempest, other than that there are a lot of active societies in college and they also hold a lot of events. honestly, campus life in mh is great. it's a very happening college.
Admission
For me personally, MIRANDA was my top choice and I'm grateful i got in. It's way better faculty wise, and I really liked the appeal of studying in a women's college after being in a coed school my entire life. Cut offs are definitely high but if you work hard enough, it's easy.
Faculty
The English department is good, the faculty is amiable and approachable. I believe our faculty is honestly very chill and many departments envy us for that :) Political science and Econ dept is a little uptight from what I've heard, but it's honestly a very subjective thing. Some people like strict teachers, who stuck to their job , meanwhile, some don't.
Interview Experience
None, only had to appear for a written MCQ exam called CUET. DU doesn't do any interviews or GD. had to prepare for cuet along with my board exams, the syllabus is almost similar for cbse board students, however, slightly different for isc
Night Life
Miranda hostels don't have any restrictions, however, the students who aren't staying in hostel aren't allowed inside the campus. The canteen shuts down in the evening. Around the campus area, there's active patrolling so it's pretty safe.
