- Honestly, there is not much to dislike about Miranda. It's the most beautiful place you can ever be in.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have been a lover of English as long as I can imagine. Being in Miranda only brings me closer to my beloved, as each one of my professors only seem to strengthen my affection of the language and for the literature it offers. It teaches you in abundance about how the world used to work and how it works today. One who studies english shall never ever fail to navigate their way through life. Considering the examination, if you have it in you to look at things beyond their exterior, you'll ace this subject. Though, I must state that being a subject course, it takes a little more than "one to two days before exam studies" to score a CGPA higher than 8.
Internships Opportunities
We were offered internships by our college, we were also given letters of recommendations by it too. The college also provides internships and jobs through its placement cell, which is a society run by students themselves.
Fees and Financial Aid
Students are expected to pay the fees on a yearly basis and being a government institution, the fees of English honours in Miranda is about 12-13000, which is to be paid in one installment at the beginning of every year. I think it's the most convenient sum. Talking about scholarships, the college offers multiple scholarships from time to time. It also offers scholarships to students from certain parts of India for their admission.
Campus Life
I am an active member of the Western dance society of Miranda, i also have a CGPA of 7.9 this semester. So my basic advice here is, IF YOU WANT TO, YOU CAN. If you want to do both you can easily do both, you just need to be driven enough. The society culture is wonderful in DU, you will get to interact with extremely talented students from all over the university. And the fests? The fest season is the absolute best!
Admission
The admission process is pretty convenient as most of it is done online so you don't really have to travel. You will need to give the CUET exam for the entrance and then enroll at DU's CSAS portal. Reservation benefits are available but I don't know to what extent they work as I, myself had scored good enough to get into Miranda without it. Exams happen on a semester basis, which makes it quite easy, honestly.
Faculty
One of the best things about Miranda would be, it's faculty. Treating teaching not as a profession but as a passion, the teachers here tend to take up the job of being a mentor very seriously. The relationship between faculty and students is mostly healthy as they do not happen to be prone to favoritism and hardly judge any student based on small things.
