Course Curriculum Overview

5

Relevance in present times of political science and my career prospects public policy helped me to select this course. Moreover, it has subjects like political theory, constitution, pubad which are used in competitive like UPSC , policy making etc defing career prospects. Improvement in teaching through daily small homework and better interaction, some videos and teaching from reading in class. Frequency of exam to be twice as helps to learn better in main exam

Internships Opportunities

3

Not much , never heard about, only internship suggested by Placement cell are known to me. There are courses offered but no idea about any internships moreover once with stipend . I am not much involved in these

Placement Experience

3

I think from sixth semester , highest package has been of 650000 but l am unaware of placements, they are not that much but we have a good functional placement cell working providing us with great internship options!

Fees and Financial Aid

For first year the fees was around 32k but in second year it reduced to 29k. I am not aware about caution fees and others. There is fee compensation in form of scholarship for sc ,st ,obc and ews. Fees of my batchmates varies but is higher than other colleges

Campus Life

5

Annual fest like Manjari and political science fest Metamorphosis are fun with great stalls and dj. The library of DRC is lovely, you get books of all courses, of IKS and other genre. The societies are multiple and provide you good opportunities and personality development. Infrastructure is getting better with new building construction.

Admission

Admission process is solely based in DU criteria, after CUET, on CSAS portel fill in ur preference about college and course and you will get them based on cut off and your marks, l got 760 but cut off for Hindu college was 794 way too far. DRC had cutoff similar to mine and l got it , initially felt bad for being in women college but good faculty and less politics is great advantage. My college has a negative aspects being small also it charges double the fees compared to other colleges

Faculty

4

There are around 15 teachers for whole political science department which consists around 500 students and the relationship is very good with friendly teachers available at all times for us. Taking names won't appear good but the best teachers even helped us at last minute prep while the bad faculty was so because of average teaching techniques and constant cancellation of classes. Tests are there for internal assessment, easy with linemt checking while DU exams everyone knows are predictable and easy

Night Life

4

Not lived in drc hostel but curfew time is 7 pm l live away from campus so l do not know much about nightlife but saw once with college in beautiful tricolor lights and lighted cafe, juice counters , food stall of paratha bhaiya and many other shops , traffic road but safe as lighted police around nearby. Hangout place being Kamla Nagar and Kamla nehru ridge.

Other Applied Colleges

Course Curriculum Overview:

It DU, so i think for many students it comes down to if you are able to make it to cutt off list. So my decision was based on it. I cleared the cutt off list for english hons so i took it. I wanted to make my way for govt job, so it was all about getting a degree regardless of what subject i was getting. I think curriculum just make you educated enough to get to know but its the college life that make you come face to face with the real world. exams every 6 months i.e every semester i think its good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really like Human Geography which let me to opt for this paper. Besides theory papers, we also have practical papers every semester through which we conduct surveys, interviews, research which helps us in preparing for the real world applications as well as further academic pursuits if we want to go in the field of Remote sensing or GIS. I feel that for papers including research or management, we should be showcasing how we can mitigate them or adapt in such scenarios and also make drafts for writing a research for further pursuits. However, as the time is limited it is quite understandable as to why its not conducted. We have two exams in a year and they are quite relevant and easy

DTU is one of thos universities which has the biggest substrata when it comes to placements. Nearly 500 companies so far have visited DTU and half of them are a regular partner now. Our course which was induced just 8 years back in DTU has placed students and average package has been around 5 to 6 Lakhs per annum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good and may be seen as average in aspect of my college . I selected my course as I saw myself holding potential in the field of language , English was my strong interest. The curriculum prepares a basic and needed knowledge for everyone accordingly and yes , it may be seen as an important aspect in higher education, experiences from professors and teachers is shared by live demonstrations and examples in order to achieve a good understanding. The improvement in the curriculum may be that of a much regular based classes as there is a frequent cut in classes and sometimes some teachers may slack during the day cancelling classes and stuff . The frequency of exams and timings are arranged and not much complicated related to my course and difficulty may be considered moderate .
