Course Curriculum Overview

4

was interested in Psychology, which motivated me to choose this course.Philosophy enhances conceptual clarity and argumentation skills, while Psychology provides insight into mental processes and behaviour, which is useful in counselling.

Internships Opportunities

2

Research Projects: Many internships involve research and surveys on mental health issues, student behavior, or workplace well-being. Students learn data collection, analysis, and report writing.Workshops & Awareness Campaigns: Students organize events or workshops, improving their organizational and communication skills.

Placement Experience

4

Students in my college generally become eligible for campus placements in any sem. After completing my degree, my plan is to become a professional counselor. Specifically, I aim to:Gain practical experience through internships in schools, NGOs, or corporate wellness programs.

Fees and Financial Aid

I pay ?35000 per year . I think development fees was ?3000 .The basic registration fee paid at the time of admissions registration online was ?100.Caution fee was 2000 i think. Examination fee was 14000 for this sem

Campus Life

3

My experience with campus life is good. Manjari is our annual fest and regular seminars are held in various topics like AI, awareness programs etc. college library is well-equipped, offering a wide range of books, journals, and e-resources. The facilities and technology are not that good classrooms are so small to fit in. Chairs are uncomfortable.

Hostel Facilities

3

I stay in a rented accommodation it provides a comfortable living environment with easy access to the college area. Basic facilities such as electricity, fans, lighting, and Wi-Fi are provided. Some hostels / PGs also provide air conditioning or heating depending on the season. Meals are not that good. Quality of food provided in pgs are not good.

Admission

I applied to several colleges in Delhi University, including Lady Shri Ram College (LSR), Miranda House, and Hindu College. Among these, I received confirmed admission from my current college. Yes, I did not get admission in LSR and Miranda House. The primary reason was that the cutoffs.

Faculty

4

Relationship between faculty and students is professional and respectful. Most teachers are approachable, supportive. Philosophy faculty is nice and approachable. I have 6 theory exam and 2 practical exam. Philosophy exams are easy where as psychology exams are little tough. Philosophy and Psychology both are highly relevant and complementary.

Interview Experience

4

For my college, the primary criterion for admission is the CUET (Common University Entrance Test) score. Admissions are largely merit-based, determined by the marks obtained in the CUET exam.Eligibility is generally based on 10+2 marks, with minimum aggregate requirements for specific courses. CUET Cutoff: The college releases cutoffs for each course, and candidates meeting the cutoff are eligible to fill the admission form online. Students must submit required documents (marksheets, ID proof, photographs) and complete fee payment to confirm admission.

Night Life

4

Students often hang out in college cafeterias for coffee, snacks, and casual conversations. For evening walks, group meetups, or small informal sports, parks and open areas in the neighborhood are often used. Students often visit local cafes, tea shops, or dessert outlets to relax.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
