Room is quite spacious and well furnished. Most of them are 2 seaters with some 4 seaters too. Laundry service is available at free of cost each week. We get 4 meals each day. The quality is okayish, i mean nothing replaces home food. But it is quite affordable and nice nevertheless. The environment is cozy overall. To register for the hostel, just fill out the application form from college website.

Hostel Facilities:

As i got late admission in college and much later in hostel, I had to stay in PG for a month then when the final list of hostel came, i shifted to university common hostel. Firstly about PG. Since campus area in Delhi is a congested place, the availability of place is very less. I rented a AC room with double occupancy at a price of ?12000/person per month in Kamla Nagar which was near my college. Initially it was difficult to adjust in such a small space with no windows or anything with dorect sunlight. Since it was market area so there was no access to park or greenery as well. Food seemed nice Initially but quality deteriorated overtime. We were served 3 meals. Security was also not much, jsut one gaurd bhaiyya for the whole building. When hostle list came i wanted to shift there, pg owner didn't even refund my security amount when i already gave the notice, rent as well. So that was a loss. PG people are not really great here. Coming to hostel time, one of the main reason my college life was this memorable was my hostel. It had all the space including- greenery, open ness, study room, tv room, mess and a whole hostel campus to take a walk or just run when frustrated. In hostel 4 meals were provided, special dinner in a month, cultural nights occasional, one reason why i didn't felt the need to go out at night. Yes there were issues like water ( which is prevalent in whole Delhi and hence in hostel too) next one main issue there was summers, we are not given coolers or AC or even allowed if one wants to get their own. Apart from that it was great experience.

Hostel Facilities:

The hostel is pretty affordable as compared to other colleges. The food is not that good honestly but you get used to it. We also have a pantry on each floor so you can also cook. The rooms are double or quadruple occupancy (2/4 seater) with common washrooms. We do not have ac/coolers in the rooms neither can you bring your own. Wifi depends upon your room location but works well in common rooms and study room. The seats are allotted on a merit basis.

Hostel Facilities:

Hostel rooms are excellent. The new block has big rooms, well ventilated windows with mosquito nets attached. Two big cupboards, two desks with storage. One mirror with four drawers below it. We never had any storage issue. however the top floor gets very hot during summer as we donot have coolers. There is often the problem of rats and dead pigeons. Sometimes water runs out in the toilet. We have two toilet blocks per floor. each block has 5 toilets and 5 bathrooms. there are geysers and 6 washbasins as well. it is not overcrowded. We also have two common rooms and one study room that has AC. We have one pantry per floor with the three necessary facilities- fridge, hotplate and microwave. they are shared among the residents.

Hostel Facilities:

The hostel provides all the facilities like laundry, almirah, study table, drinking water, a common area of tv, open gym as. The meal is of average quality though. But not too bad ( cannot be considered fully good too). The hostel has a grand mess that can accommodate 200 hostelers easily. Hostel registration is open after taking admission in college after the cut-off process. Only meritorious students are given seats. The higher the percentage, the greater the chances of getting a hostel. But the hostel is not provided for Delhi people or people from NCR. The hostel is affordable as compared to PG in Delhi. It provides all facilities without any hole in the pocket. The fee is nearly 30-50000 per year

Hostel Facilities:

As much as I've seen heard and researched, the hostel life at Miranda is just like movies. It's good. It's just that, very few can live it. The seats are very few and it's merit-based. For instance, for B.El.Ed only 3 beds are available i,e., one room. You have to score high enough in your DUET exam to get a hostel at Miranda. There are other hostels as well on the DU campus. And there's always the option of PGs and flats(which are better if you want to live the Delhi life.) You can find all about the hostels of Miranda House at https://www.mirandahouse.ac.in/residence/thehostel.php You can register for hostels once you've taken the admission. You have to submit your domicile, admission receipt, and 10th and 12th mark sheet to warden@mirandahouse.in Please note, you can't avail of hostel facilities if you're from Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and places nearby.

What are the good PG hostels near Miranda house?

Anita RoyB.A. Philosophy & Economics, Miranda House, University of Delhi (2021)

If you're a student looking for a place to stay near Miranda House, you'll have several options to choose from. However, not all of them may be of good quality, so it's important to be selective when making your decision. Here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Good quality PGs near Miranda House are limited: While there are several PG options near Miranda House, not all of them may offer good quality facilities or services. It's important to research and check out reviews before finalizing a place to stay.
  • Coho can be a good option: If you're looking for a PG that offers good facilities and services, Coho could be a good choice. They have well-furnished AC rooms, provide good quality food, and have wifi facilities which are important for students. They also have CCTV cameras and security guards in place to ensure the safety of their students. Coho is student-friendly: According to some students who have stayed with Coho, the management is kind and responsive to their needs. They also organize fun events for their residents, which can be a great way to meet new people and have fun. Visit Coho flats before making a decision: While Coho may seem like a good option on paper, it's always a good idea to visit their flats and see the facilities for yourself before making a final decision. This will give you a better idea of what to expect and whether it's a good fit for your needs.

If you're looking for a PG near Miranda House, it's important to be selective and choose a place that offers good quality facilities and services. Coho could be a good option to consider, but it's always a good idea to visit the flats and do your research before making a final decision.

Which one should I prefer PG or hostel in Miranda House?

Aarti Aroracompleted B.A. Honours in Geography from Miranda House,University of Delhi in 2020

Sadly, Miranda House does not offer hostels to everyone save a selected few. They are provided on the basis of merit. So if the chance to stay in a hostel comes your way, make the most of it.

  • The cost of living in the hostels is lower than that of living in PGs.
  • The services the hostels provide are good.
  • You will just be a few minutes away from your classes.
  • The hostels are also close to the metro station and the market.
  • However, if you don’t get a hostel, then there are a lot of PGs nearby such as Coho, Zocalo, Nestaway, etc.
  • The PG rooms are well furnished with ACs.
  • There are attached bathrooms with the facility of geysers.
  • Cooks will prepare meals for you and there are also security guards in the premises 24/7 for safety.
  • CCTV cameras are installed too.

Some PGs like Stanza Living organize events which help in the enhancement of career for making college life more interesting.
