For CSE, SRM is the better option. The academics, campus life, and facilities offered are good. Major recruiting companies such as Amazon, Honda, Cognizant, etc. recruit through the campus drive. B.Tech in CSE: Should I choose Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT, Pune), or SRM (Main Campus)?

Let’s start with the most important thing, the rankings of both the universities. According to NIRF rankings, MIT was ranked #138th for B.Tech courses and SRM was ranked #36th for engineering. Approved by AICTE, both the universities provide equally qualified faculty. Admissions MIT World Peace University Pune: The candidate must have gained 50% marks in PCM with Physics, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects. Scores of JEE Main 2020/ MHT-CET 2020 score. The university conducts an entrance exam namely PERA CET. The total 1st-year fees is Rs 3.1 Lakhs. SRM: The candidate must have gained 50% marks in PCM or PCB subject in 10+2 examination. Scores of SRMJEE (UG) 2020 (this entrance exam is only available to Indian residents, NRI, holders of PIO or OCI card which is issued by the Indian Government). The total 1st-year fee is 2.6 Lakhs. Placements MIT World Peace University Pune: Amazon, Infosys, Flipkart, Oracle, IBM, Wipro, Microsoft, Reliance, Aditya Birla Group, Tech Mahindra, etc. are some of the frequently visited companies in MIT. The highest package offered was INR 37.26 LPA and the average package offered to the students was INR 3.2 LPA in the on-campus selections. SRM: Infosys, IBM, Dell, Bank of America, Just dial, Oracle, LAVA mobiles, Nokia, Axis Bank, Yes Bank, etc. are some of the top recruits in SRM university. The highest package offered was INR 41.6 LPA in the on-campus selections while the average package offered to the students was INR 10 LPA. Almost 120+ companies visited the campus. Campus MIT World Peace University Pune: Some of the on-campus facilities available in the university are cricket, volleyball and football grounds, modern style gymnasium, table tennis, carom, wrestling facilities, hostel, canteen, medical services, bank facility, meditation center, etc. There are many sports tournaments, cultural activities and extracurricular activities organized on-campus. SRM: Some of the on-campus facilities available in the university are 4 volleyball courts, 5 basketball courts, 2 football fields, 1 hockey field, 400-meter track, 5 tennis courts, 1 cricket field, multipurpose indoor stadium with AC, 2 badminton courts, AC hall for chess, library, canteen, hostel, etc. Many engaging activities are organized by the University on-campus for their students. Now looking at all the facilities provided by the university for CSE, he/she can choose whatever full-fills their requirements.

Should I get a Bachelor's of Technology in computer science from MSIT GGSIPU or SRM Chennai? Why?

Choose MSIT if you want to prioritize degree value over cost. Otherwise, go with SRM. MSIT CSE placements are excellent, but if you live in a politically neutral environment with large campuses, consider SRM, Chennai. Technical societies, such as IEEE, are very active, and if you are fortunate enough to be a part of them, it is better for you in terms of placement and 'knowledge building. If you are serious about expanding your knowledge, there are a few amazing teachers as well as seniors who can assist and guide you. It is entirely up to you to make the most of the available opportunities.

As per our research, students say that it really isn't as bad as people say. It is a great college, in terms of facilities. You can easily score a good CGPA if you put even a little effort, and you can have fun too while maintaining a good CGPA. They have everything they need around them in terms of food, restaurants, and places to have fun. Travelling to the city is quite easy, once you get here and get familiar with the city. The teachers don't really teach and things are outdated, but that's the scene in every college and you will have to study on your own. There are also a few teachers who are really great and if you maintain good relations with them, you can work on area projects and do wonders. The placements here are good too provided you put in the effort. You can't expect a 12LPA+ job without putting in the effort. Yes, the medians and means are low because a huge chunk of people are mass recruited, doesn't mean you can't get a good job. It all depends on how you study. The mess is decent, depends on yourself. Hostels if you get the one you want; it's fun and great with minor problems like ac not working once in a while, but if you complain they fix it within an hour or two tops. If you find some likeminded friends you can have all the fun you want as well as do well in academics.People unnecessarily hate SRM. It is not as bad as people say it is.

Fees and Financial Aid:

i usually pay 2.5 tuition fees, and 15k for book and 25k for career development. they also ask for 10k extra for registration in the first year. this is how it is for management students. there aint much of a reservation quota in srm ramapuram tho. if you score well in srmjeee theres a good chance you get at least 50- even a lakh compensated by the clg each year (if you maintain a good cgpa). most of the seats are management seats only. only a very few seats are given for merit students covering almost more than 90% of the fee.

Not Perfect, But a Worth Campus It for the Right Student

I joined B.Tech CSE (Core) at SRM Sonepat in 2024. The fee per year is 2.5 lakhs, so in four years, it totals 10 lakhs. At the start, I also paid 10,000 as a joining fee and 5,000 as a safety deposit. Each year, there are extra costs like test and service fees, about 5,000 per year. So, the full cost of the course is nearly 10.7 lakhs. For now, the fee stays the same each year. Some of my batchmates who came through quota or had high ranks pay less due to fee cuts. The campus gives fee aid from 10% to 100% based on marks in JEE main, SRMJEE, or Class 12th Percentage. You can also try for state or main fee aid if you meet the rules.

The fees of SRM is on the very expensive side, especially for CSE branch.

For CSE core and CSE with specialisation in AI-ML branches at SRM Kattankulathur, the yearly tuition fee is Rs.475000, for four years, making a total of Rs.1900000. For other CSE specialisations (like cybersecurity, datascience, etc), the yearly tuition fee is Rs.375000. For non CSE branches such as ECE, EEE, Biotech, the fee is Rs.275000 per year. These fees remain the same for all four years of the B.Tech program and do not increase annually. There are no extra fees apart from the semester exam fees. Components like caution fee, registration fee, development fee, and lab charges are already included in the yearly tuition fees. Scholarship Details: Students can apply for scholarships based on their SRMJEEE rank(under 1000) or JEE Mains rank(under 10000). Depending on their rank, a scholarship of upto 75% off on tuition fee for the first year can be availed. However to retain the scholarship in subsequent years, students must maintain a 9.5+ CGPA each year.

The year wise fees for big data analytics happens to be 400000 rs per year at my time but now it has increased for the upcoming students of following batch The college also provides scholarships like merit based ,founder based,alumni based etc for different criterias and they offer a good amount of relief The college takes serious actions on topics like scholarships and timely actions are taken moreover I got a scholarship of rupees 90000 overall for scoring a perfect 10 cgpa in first year .

B.Tech life in SRM

The total cost of studying B.tech in SRM was around 2 lakhs per year plus there is an additional 10k and 15k as the collect as book and cdc fee. If you write SRMJEEE and score a good ranking you will get scholarship which will some percentage of discount on the tuition fee. As of every academic year the fee has been increased I was on 2021 batch.

Great Expensive College

The year wise tution fees is 4,25,000 inr for 1 year which totals for 1700000 inr for the complete course opted by me of Btech. computer science w/s Cyber Security. Some branches like Btech Cse w/s AIML and Btech CSE Core has a fees of 4.75lakh inr per year. Also there are cost such as exam fees averages to 3500 inr per semester and for hostel of least facilities like not attached washroom 4 sharing costs 125000 inr for a year and hostel fees increase a little every year for almost 2000 inr.

SRM University is scintillating!!

SRMIST is arguably or without a debate one of the best private college for doing engineering. CSE fees is little higher than that of other branches as our labs and other facilities are much better than the others. So, I am happy with the fees as it's 260k a year and it's not too high considering the level of education and facilities that are provided.

SRMIST Chennai is an amazing college which is one of the pioneer institute of SRM University one has to pay 2.6 Lakhs every year. It's slightly higher than some or rather most colleges but if one compares it with private colleges or universities it is in line with them. Hence fees can't be termed high but it's not affordable for all as well.
