Course Curriculum Overview
i had biology in my first sem and had no idea why. there were some subjects like this but instead we couldve had something related to the syllabus. it couldve been more hands on experiences and lless theory. and in the case of specialization courses, they dont start with the specialization subjects at least until 3rd to 4th sem and its almost the same as core cse. its better to take up cse core and choose the subjects as electives instead. core cse ppl are rewarded more marks in exams smh. ppl even get 10 sgpa at times. we have two CLA exams per sem and it's really effective. wont stress you much either. for maths you might have one extra exam though.
Internships Opportunities
they wont be giving od for internships that you get outside of your college, but if you get it via college then you can get an od or anything. like i said earlier haveloc will also have internship opportunities. if youre skilled then yes you can get in, but you will definitely be gettin the opportunities. mostly it is around 20-30k per month internships but some of them are unpaid.
Placement Experience
placements are kinda good but if you dont have any skills then yeah it might not be so good for you. theyll tell you to log into an app called haveloc and youll be applying to the jobs in that app. all the big or small companies will be posting their vacancies in that app and if you are eligible you will be able to apply. you have a good chance. and the placement training also starts towards the end of 2nd year so it would not be a big problem. ppl have got even 40-60 lpa offers and there are also 2lpa offers one side for ppl with less skills. communication skills play a very big role.
Fees and Financial Aid
i usually pay 2.5 tuition fees, and 15k for book and 25k for career development. they also ask for 10k extra for registration in the first year. this is how it is for management students. there aint much of a reservation quota in srm ramapuram tho. if you score well in srmjeee theres a good chance you get at least 50- even a lakh compensated by the clg each year (if you maintain a good cgpa). most of the seats are management seats only. only a very few seats are given for merit students covering almost more than 90% of the fee.
Campus Life
Texus is the annual fest and it's really nice. you'll have a few other symposiums also which you can def join and ditch your classes. you have multiple clubs for multiple aspects and you willl always be encouraged to participate in club events, youll get od too. there are so many tech and non tech clubs. you can also host a club of your own if you have a good idea. there are so many books in the library but only related to the subjects. apart from that, you'll have projectors in almost all the classes. that's all tbh.
Admission
so i decided i wanted this college right after i completed 11th std boards. it wasn't as far as the other colleges. it wasnt strict but not too liberal either. you have the best timetable each sem (almost) and you will def get marks if you study just a bit. has one event or the another going on (most of the events are held by easwari but youll have access to most of them) .canteen food is also nice and you have almost nothing to worry about. just study every now and then, work on wtv skills you want to and youre set
Faculty
most of the faculties are really skilled but the subjects with less credits, those teachers mostly suck at teaching but regardless youd get all the materials you need to study on your own. and it wont take much time to do it yourself. so it really doesnt matter. but for the main subjects, the faculty are really good ngl. exams sometimes can be hard but most of the time youll get all the important questions a week before the exam. prepare that and youll be good to go. you'll get good marks for sure if you study like 50% of the syllabus and manage to fill up sheets. you can get above 8 or even 9. but if you just skim through the syllabus and smh fill up pages, then you can pass. but make sure you SMH fill up the pages.
Night Life
there arent a lot of gyms but you have monk gym in porur. theres a porur ecopark nearby as well. and pls dont join the college hostel go for a cheaper pg nearby instead. but you have so many food places like the andhra mess nearby is good. you also have tibet momos and seoul. so almost all the cuisines are covered. you have a billiards place nearby that just charges 50rs per person (for a hour)
