Likes
- The faculty is very good. There are professors who are IIT PHDs and who have worked abroad.
- The hostel mess food is very good. They have both north indian and south indian options in mess.
- The campus is very big and beautiful. There are many places to eat inside campus such as subway, dominoes, etc.
Dislikes
- The clubs here are very selective and very hard to join while contributing almost nothing to placements.
- Hostel in timings are too early and you have to get a pass to stay late outside of hostel.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is much more relevant than other colleges. There are coding related subjects starting in 1st semester itself unlike other colleges. There is more focus on practical knowledge than theoretical knowledge.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are mostly off campus but companies like Adobe and Pine labs do visit for internships. There are many projects from 3rd year which may lead to internships. The faculty is very good and help with internships.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements from 3rd year. There are many students who get good packages in 3rd year itself. 2025 batch highest package was 60lpa. Average package was 10lpa. Microsoft, Oracle, Accenture, Amazon and many other companies visit SRM.
Fees and Financial Aid
485000 for first year and then 475000 for 3 years. Tuition fees is 475000, registration fees 10000. Merit based scholarship is available. For ranks under 200 100% scholarship. For the scholarship to continue after 1st year minimum cgpa is 9.
Campus Life
There are 2 fests in SRM, the first one is Aaruush which is techincal fest and 2nd is Milan which is cultural fest. Aaruush is held in september and milan is held in january. Books are easily accessible from library.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are very clean. There are vending machines in every hostel but they are not stocked properly. The mess food is very good. They give ice cream, chinese, pani puri, etc. Hostel registration is very easy you just have to select hostel and room.
Admission
I applied to KIIT, Chandigarh University, UPES, IIITH and VIT. I couldn't get into IIITH because I couldn't clear the UGEEE cutoff. I got into all the others but since SRM had a better nirf rank I joined SRM.
Faculty
Thw faculty to student ratio is good. The faculty to student relationship is good. It is very easy to contact your professors. Each class has its own faculty advisor and academic advisor. There are too many exams but they start out easy.
Night Life
There are free gyms available but the machines are not good and they are very crowded. The library is also crowded and it is hard to find a place to sit. Cafeterias are also crowded. Hostels are good.
