The highest score in NEET UG 2026 is 715 out of 720, jointly secured by Aryan Gupta (Punjab) and Panshul Bansal (Haryana). As per the official result, no candidate scored a perfect 720/720.

NEET UG 2026 Tie-Breaking Criteria

If two or more candidates obtain the same marks, NTA prepares the merit list using the following tie-breaking rules:

  • Step 1: Candidate with higher Biology marks (Botany + Zoology) gets the higher rank.
  • Step 2: If the tie remains, the candidate with higher Chemistry marks is ranked higher.
  • Step 3: If still tied, the candidate with higher Physics marks receives the better rank.
  • Step 4: If the tie continues, the candidate with fewer incorrect answers across all subjects is given the higher rank.
  • Step 5: In the rare event that all the above criteria are identical, NTA resolves the tie through a supervised computerized random selection process.
