The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially announced the seat matrix for the NEET 2024 counselling process. In Round 2 counselling, MCC has added 614 new seats for MBBS/BDS. Of these new seats, 600 seats have been added to colleges in Telangana and 7 seats each in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra medical/dental colleges. Round 2 choice-filling is open from September 6 to September 10, 2024. MCC will declare the NEET 2024 counselling round 2 seat allotment result on September 13, 2024.
A total of 26,582 seats are available across various institutions. ESIC Medical College and PGIMER Bengaluru and Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Center has informed the counselling committee about the removal of seats. A total of 7 MBBS seats in ESIC-MC and PGIMER Bengaluru and all BSc Nursing seats from the latter have been removed.
The NTA has released the NEET Results 2024 on June 4, 2024 along with NEET 2024 Cutoff. Candidates who have appeared for NEET 2024 can check the scores through the official website of NTA NEET at – exams.nta.ac.in/NEET.
NEET Seat Matrix 2024 – Released
- The number of medical seats at the UG level increased from 51,348 in 2014 to 1,08,990 for the fiscal, a 112% growth in UG seats.
- There has been a 127% increase in the postgraduate seats. There are 70,645 PG seats compared to 31,185 in 20213-14.
- The admission to AIIMS and JIPMER is conducted through NEET. The NEET 2024 seat matrix will also include 2196 MBBS seats in 21 AIIMS colleges.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) allocates 15% of Government medical and Dental seats to AIQ candidates. However, the seats allocated to states will be determined by the state authorities. The reservation is applicable to both 15% AIQ seats and 85% under state quotas.

I'm interested in knowing the number of MBBS & BDS seats available state-wise and college-wise?
The mop-up round is last round of counselling which is conducted for seats which are left vacant also in mop up round, the qualified or waitlisted candidates can have a chance to get a seat for their desired colleges.
NEET Seat Matrix 2022 will be released soon by MCC on the official website. There are a total of 8787 seats available in deemed universities for MBBS this year.
