NEET 2024 Exam Day Guidelines have been issued by the NTA.

As per the NEET Exam Day Guidelines, you must carry your NEET 2024 admit card, passport-size photo and a valid photo ID proof to the exam center.

Highlights

  • NEET 2024 exam time is from 2 pm to 5:20 pm. The exam center will open at 12 pm and no one will be allowed entry after 1:30 pm.
  • NEET Dress Code 2024 allows men to wear trousers and light short-sleeved clothes and women to wear salwar or trousers with light half-sleeved tops.
  • NTA does NOT allow any item like textual material, Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Pens, etc in the NEET 2024 exam hall.
  • Any communication device like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Pager, etc. is also prohibited as per the NTA instructions for NEET 2024.

Eatables such as packed or open food and water bottles are also not allowed in the NEET 2024 exam hall. However, there is a relaxation in this guideline for diabetic candidates. They are allowed to carry sugar tablets, and fruits (banana, apple, orange) to the exam hall. They cannot carry packaged food.

As per the reports, out of the 23,81,833 candidates registered for NEET 2024, around 22 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the exam. Therefore, it is imperative to follow the NEET 2024 Exam Day Guidelines for the smooth conduction of the exam.

Admit Card

NEET 2024 Exam Day Guidelines: Admit Card

NEET Admit Card 2024 is out on the official website. Here are some exam guidelines regarding the NEET 2024 admit card as issued by the NTA:

  • You have to download the NEET admit card from the NTA website (exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/) and only appear for the examination on the allotted date and time as mentioned in your admit card. You will not be allowed otherwise.
  • If you cannot download your admit card from the website, you can reach out to the NEET Help Line between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm or mail NTA at neet@nta.ac.in.
  • If you find any discrepancy in the NEET admit card (particulars of the candidate, photographs, or signatures), you can immediately contact the Help Line between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.
  • It is mandatory to carry your NEET admit card, along with a passport-size photo, and a valid photo ID proof to the exam center.

NEET 2024 exam center will open two hours before the exam i.e., 12 pm. No one will be allowed entry after 1:30 pm. You will have to go through proper security checks so ensure to reach to reach the center well before time.

Dress Code

Candidates taking the NEET 2024 have to follow the dress code as announced by the NTA. This will ensure sanctity and fairness in the exam. NEET Dress Code 2024 for males and females is given below:

The NEET 2024 Dress Code for males is given below:

Clothing Light colored clothes
Sleeves Half sleeves are recommended, Long sleeves are not allowed.
Footwear Shoes are allowed in the exam hall. You can wear sandals with low heels or footwear without thick soles.
Accessories No ornaments, including bracelets, rings, wristwatches, belts, caps, goggles etc. are allowed.
Customary Attire You have to mention your religious attire in the application form under the Customary Dress section. Report an hour early i.e.,12:30 pm for screening in that case.

NEET Dress Code 2024 for Females

The NEET 2024 Dress Code for females is given below:

Clothing Light colored clothes
Accessories No accessory is allowed.
Embroidery Avoid too much embroidery, flowers, brooches, or buttons.
Sleeve Length Long-sleeved shirts or tops are not permitted. Go for Half-sleeved clothes.
Bottoms Wear trousers without big pockets. Leggings, Palazzo, and Jeans are not allowed.
Footwear Avoid high heels and thick-sole shoes; choose low-heeled sandals or slippers

In case of any deviation required due to unavoidable (medical, etc.) circumstances, specific approval of NTA must be taken before the Admit Cards are issued.

Is leggings allowed in NEET exam?

No. The NTA strictly prohibits leggings/ jeggings/ jeans in NEET exam. You can go for a salwar or trousers and pair it with a light-colored short-sleeved top or T-shirt.

You must carry only the following things to the NEET 2024 exam center.

  • Printout of the NEET 2024 Admit Card with a passport-size photo (same as the one in the application form) affixed to it.
  • One passport-size photo for the Attendance Sheet.
  • Valid Original ID proof.
  • PwBD Certificate (if applicable)
  • One postcard size (4” X6”) color photograph with white background should be pasted on the Proforma downloaded with the Admit Card and should be handed over to the invigilator at the exam center.

Barred Items

You will have to go through extensive and compulsory frisking before entering the exam hall. The staff will use metal detectors for security checks. NTA has issued a list of barred items to the exam center. You must not carry the following things to the exam center under any circumstance:

  • Items such as textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Pen, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Eraser, Calculator, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner, etc.
  • Electronic and communication devices like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band, etc.
  • Bags or Wallet, Goggles, Handbags, Belt, Cap, etc.
  • Ornaments or metallic items such as Watch/Wristwatch, Bracelet, Camera, etc
  • Eatables or food items opened or packed, water bottles, etc.
  • Any other thing that has the potential to harm the decorum of the exam such as communication devices like microchips, cameras, bluetooth devices, etc.

Can I wear a watch in NEET exam?

No. Any ornament or metallic item such as watch/ wristwatch, bracelet, rings, or pendant should not be worn during the NEET 2024 exam. Make sure you follow the NTA NEET guidelines to avoid any problems at the last moment.

Is water bottle allowed in NEET exam?

No. Water Bottle falls under the list of prohibited items by the NTA. You must not carry any food items (packaged or open) and water bottles to the NEET exam center.

Exam Hall Instructions

NEET 2024 Exam Day Guidelines: Exam Hall Instructions

Anyone who does not possess the NEET 2024 Admit Card will not be allowed to enter the exam hall by the center superintendent. Each candidate will be allotted a seat of their roll number. You must sit on the allotted seat ONLY.

Here are some exam hall instructions for NEET exam day guidelines you must follow:

  • Enter the exam center as per the time allotted to you in the NEET admit card only. No one will be allowed to enter after 1:30 pm.
  • Sit on your designated seats only. Do not try to avoid the camera when it approaches. Everyone should be present in the video recording.
  • You must bring all the important documents as mentioned above to the NEET exam center.
  • Do not carry any prohibited item as mentioned above to the exam hall. The prohibited items include stationery, electronic devices, calculators, and ornaments.
  • The invigilators will provide you with the test booklet 15 minutes before the exam starts. You must use the ballpoint pen as provided by the invigilators to write the exam.
  • You will be given five minutes to open the seal on the test booklets and check the number of pages.
  • Make sure that the code present on your test booklet matches with the one provided on the answer sheet in the booklet.
  • You must hand over your OMR sheet to the invigilator before exiting the exam hall Also, make sure that you do not leave the exam center before the exam is over.
  • Eating and drinking is strictly prohibited in the exam hall, except for candidates who have a genuine medical condition like diabetes.

NEET Exam Day Guidelines 2024 for Diabetic Candidates

NTA has provided some relaxation to the candidates who are diabetic for the NEET 2024 exam. As per the NEET Exam Day Guidelines for diabetic candidates:

  • Diabetic candidates can carry eatables like sugar tablets, fruits (banana, apple, orange), and a transparent water bottle to the NEET exam hall.
  • Packaged food items such as chocolates, candy, chips, etc, are not allowed.

Filling your OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) correctly is important for the correct evaluation of your answers in the NEET 2024 exam. These are the steps you need to follow to fill your NEET UG OMR sheets correctly:

  • You must sign your OMR sheet twice at the beginning and the end.
  • Give your finger impressions in the attendance sheet as asked.
  • You will receive the test booklet 15 minutes before the exam. Use this time to open the seal and check the number of pages.
  • To answer the questions on the OMR sheet, use only the ballpoint pen provided in the exam hall.
  • You must fill in the details on both sides of the OMR sheet. Candidates should carefully fill in details such as roll number, DOB, etc.
  • Read the instructions provided on the cover of the test booklet carefully.

Every candidate appearing for the NEET 2024 exam must adhere to the following rules and regulations:

  • You must carry only those items which are allowed to the NEET exam center.
  • Every candidate should follow the NEET Dress Code 2024 as issued by the NTA without fail.
  • NTA has released the NEET Admit Card 2024. You can find the list of all the NEET rules and regulations. You are advised to adhere to all the rules and regulations mentioned on the NEET admit card.

Unfair means practices refer to the activity in which a candidate can use unfair means to take the exam. This would give him an unfair advantage over other candidates. As per the latest NTA NEET instructions, using any unfair means practice is prohibited. The unfair means of practice include but are not limited to the following:

  • Carrying barred items to the NEET exam center.
  • Faking identity and appearing in the NEET 2024 exam.
  • Entering or exiting the examination hall by force.
  • Affixing improper, wrong, or morphed photographs on the admit card, attendance sheet, or proforma.
