The atmosphere and its people are great.
The facilities are great, though the roads need maintenance

It is very relevant and prepares us for real world applications and further academic pursuits. The course deals with literary theory, criticism, literary history, linguistics as well as American literature and Indian writing in English.

Here the mess food is the one which I hate. Worst food ever.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is best here . The exams and their scheduling are great . After two to three chapters faculties will conduct the internal exams and it is corrected and given to us . So that we can understand our studies and we can improve it .

The course structure is very good it's quiet diversified like you study different subjects like history, sociology, political science and law in first two semesters along with french and later in third and fourth semester you other subjects add on
You will be having scope of all subjects by the end and the coordinate of this course is very well managed and quiet good person and ofcourse you go to different departments so that you will be having interactions will different people

Dislikes

Even tough the course structure is good the execution is very bad literally this particular course doesn't have a dept and the whole day end up roaming dept the very worse part is the other dept are not interested to support to continuing this course
Literally whenever students go and ask them we have this particular paper in your dept they say we are not offering it right now and in the middle of the year the NEP was introduced the curriculum got so messed up

The diversity in this course is a huge attraction but uni failed to executive this course properly and when it comes to teaching method french and law were quiet good very experienced proffesors are there and political science is somewhat ok but when comes to scholar literally they will be having some ppt and they read it out that's sit you just have to make note from what he read and what you heard that's sit Talking about exam timings french and law are good they complete their syllabus and keep exams on time. Political science dept they conducted exam for us at first as we requested later they repeated the same paper to their students which totally unfair History and sociology depts literally they allot the scholars in last 1 month of the semester and the whole teaching and exams including internals and externals were conducted and completed in one month along with assignment submissions

Better about university as of my pov

Likes

Basic facilities for students are some poor in quality
But a good infrastructure is there still some bad also

Dislikes

Food quality is very poor so i don't like the food much
Roads inside campus is very worst that is make way for accidents

The course taking reason is that i think for following my passion as to reach as a teacher a good teacher in the teaching field. I wshi i could make it by taking this course. Now iam im 2 nd year the difficulty level is more than compared to last year.

About the campus. Green campus, students friendly somehow, we are having problems with transportation,
Really have a good opportunity to interact with students from different background

Dislikes

Having no basic facilities like sanitary napkin incinerators
Roads are not well maintained, no public toilet for a sudden use

For us we are NEP batch although i took political science for my ug i have to learn other disciplines from science stream, for me its a good decision and the teachers who taught these subjects started from basics.

Overall review of Pondicherry University

Likes

Professors are highly qualified and infrastructure is good. Some of the guest faculties are also good.
University buses are available now at accurate times . Reading room facilities are available from morning 9 am to 3 am

Dislikes

Even the professors are highly qualified their interaction with students are less. Also they put internals according to their convenience without much consideration given to students as most of the students are coming from long distances
The mess is actually very poor the hygiene and food availablity in the morning when we are rushing for classes is poor.Also the mess managers are not much considering students

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is designed according to current education system but I personally don't prefer to present nep system as it has lot of subjects which are out of our subject also the faculties available are less for all these courses. But the curriculum prepares you enough for the real world application and academic pursuit only when there is enough faculties for teaching the subjects. The course curriculum was changed for us after 1 and half years as we came here for integrated pg but now we are learning for ba hons this was a disappointment for us. Course curriculum is good but the teaching staffs should be increased for our subject and also for other my friends from other department. Exams are kept according to professor convenience without much consideration to students. This give us mental stress and many other problems

Likes

The atmosphere of the university and its greenery.
The different cultural interactions with students from different regions.

Dislikes

Teachers are not helping or encouraging the students for quest of their subject study.
Mess food is not providing properly according to the students need.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The integration of ug and pg course influenced me to choose the course. Also that the other science papers were also included in curriculum. The previous curriculum of my course was an integrated course. And this influenced me to chose this course for and I enrolled the entrance exam for this. Then after one and half semester studying this course this university suddenly decided to change curriculum according to the national educational policy. This was a huge disappointment. Because according to national educational policy, this course was no longer an integrated course and the course duration is also different. And the papers also. When NEP was implemented suddenly during our second semester it became a large chaos and gave us huge struggles. Due to this we did not get our well deserved proper academic vacation.

First year curriculum included many unnecessary courses that were totally irrelevant to our major. But later courses are based on our major and helpful for application level. Teaching methods are good. Timings are good.

The university ambience is too good. Overall the campus is very beautiful especially when it's monsoon season
Some faculties are too good and teach us very well scholars also they too work really hard for us

Dislikes

There is no restrictions like for hostel and all so this is not a bad thing but it's not that safe also
University roads are not that good accidents occur due to that

Placement Experience:

From 3 Rd sem onwards we have to do internships and all and from 6 th sem onwards let try for placements but mostly placements are for pg students only a few students will get placed and most of the others will go for PhD some in this university itself After completing my ug my plan is to clear net or gate exm

In this university you will be having stressfree lifeand you can enjoy this campus which having 900 acres and night life in Pondicherry university is awesome and the department is with high quality faculties

Dislikes

University roads are worst it is not maintained nicely and hostel food is worst

This is good and if talk about academics in our dept it is superb. The syllabus is like that after this you will be good chemist. The lab is good. They planned syallbus in way that they will provide good foundation for you

I Have complited my MBA from Distance in year 2021 but i received mu mark sheet and certificate with wrone name. Insted of my name they have put my father's name. So even after sending mails of like 26 times and sending DD of Rs 1100/- they have not done anything and there is no reply in mail and no one oiks up the call. I am so frustrated and loosing hope. I really dont know when this will be corrected..
