Pondicherry University provides separate accommodation for girls and boys with all the necessary facilities like mess food facility, security, regular water and electricity supply, etc. PU campus has 22 hostels which includes 14 hostels for Boys, 7 hostels for Girls and 1 hostel for Foreign Students.

Hostel Facilities:

I stay in the college hostel itself. It is newly built and much better when compared to other hostels in the university. The hostel rooms are well arranged and comfortable. Each room has a bed frame, a cupboard, a table, a chair, and charging ports. The rooms are neat and have enough space for daily use. The washrooms are clean and well maintained. Safe drinking water is provided through a water purifier. Lift facility is also available, which is very helpful. Overall cleanliness of the hostel is good and hygienic. The quality of food is medium. Chicken and egg are served twice a week. Regular South Indian food is provided for meals. Rasam, pappad, pickle, and curd are available every day. For breakfast, dosa, idli, poori, and bread are given. Chapathi is served for both lunch and dinner. After completing the admission process, we can apply for hostel stay. We need to fill out a form and make the payment. After that, the hostel staff allots the room. Different room options are available such as dormitory, three share rooms, and two share rooms. Overall, the hostel provides good facilities and a comfortable living environment.

Hostel Facilities:

A three share room , with three cots and table 2 fans and shelves. Free wifi with limited connectivity.Hostel toilets are not that clean. The meal quality is of average, cleanliness is the main issue and also the quantity is very limited and less. The availability of good rented rooms and pg is less around the university

Hostel is very nice especially bathroom.very neat.hostel one room have only 2 students to live. Two bedroom and 1 bathroom and a small kitchen to cook small things to student. We have 1 room only 300 rupees in 1 student. If i rented a room for a pg student i always recommended the college hostel always????.very neat and comfortable rooms are there

Hostel Facilities:

Hostel and room are really good, mostly it is double or triple shearing for PG students, and single shearing for PhD schoolers, hostels are well mentained and clean. In point of hostel mess the food is ok ok... not that great, but eatable, at really affordable cost, per day at 74 rupees only.But the nurition value of the mess food is really poor.

The hostel facilities are reported good from outside. But inside it is very difficult especially during monsoon season.

Hostel Facilities:

Rooms are usually three-sharing. Every room will have three cot, one table and two chair. Every room is having two fan and two white light and also dim yellow lights. Then two large wardrobes having door and also two without door. And we have space for keeping shoes. Etc... hostels are allotted for those who resides more than 20km from the university

Hostel Facilities:

Hostel are very clean. The cleaners will come 4 days per week. They will clean every corner of the hostel. The allocated rooms are our respomsibility. We have to keep it clean. The mess food is good. But sometimes we dont like the menu and the taste of that food. We can take any pg near to our university. PG and rental homes also available near to our university.

At present, Pondicherry University has twenty two hostels in the campus, of which, fourteen are for boys and eight are for girls. Out of the fourteen boys’ hostels, ten are for PG courses and four for Research Scholars. Out of eight girls’ hostels, seven are for PG students and one is for Research Scholars. The Karaikal Campus has two hostels one for Boys and one for girls. One boys hostel and one girls hostel is available at Port Blair Campus also. Foreign Students’ Hostels The University has Air Conditioned & non-Air Conditioned hostel rooms available for the foreign students. 40 rooms are available in C.V.Raman Hostel for boys and 49 rooms are available in Madame Curie for girls. The fee structure for the foreign students are different from that of the general hostel students. Foreign Students are expected to pay hostel fees at the time of hostel admission

There are five hostels for women at Pondicherry University. Some are old and some are new. The quality, facilities, standards, décor, etc depends on whether you are getting the new hostels or the old ones. The old ones are being repaired, however, and new hostels for women will be constructed soon. The condition and facilities vary depending on the location of the rooms in a particular hostel.

You will get rooms that will accommodate two or three students including you. You will get utilities like a table, cupboard, bed, fans, etc. Apart from these, you will also get unlimited wifi connection, an area for washing and drying clothes, and drinking water facilities. You can address your grievances to the administrative staff and the office of the warden.

Rooms are shared by two people, and have a cupboard for each person. The warden visit the hostel like once in a blue moon. Registration process for hostel was very easy and all , I don't even remember doing it. The meal quality was not upto the standard. Sometimes it's good , sometimes it's crap. We get non-veg biryani every Sunday and that's a relief and also chicken curry every Thursday. The meals are atleast not same everyday that's a relief.
