Campus Life in an island

It was the most suitable place in India to study the course I chose(Msc Marine Biology). Faculties were experienced and understanding.
Hostel was less than 100 mts away from campus. And had all the necessary lab equipments enough for the students.
Campus Life was one of a kind. As there were only few students overall, everyone knew eachother let that be phd student 2nd year, 1 st year, everyone knew each other. Never had such a college experience before.

Dislikes

Remote location. You have spend money on flights each time you have to take vacation.
Faculties were sometimes felt biased. The evaluation of the papers are done in the same campus itself, so sometimes this bias was seen in marksheets.
Only few students in the overall campus. Not much culture or community activities it's mostly quiet all the time.

I got admission for dhsgu in madhya pradesh, and also in Calicut and kannur university. But these were all for different courses, i really wanted to study Marine Biology and this campus was the only option inhad for it. No I never got any rejection from any other universities it was solely my choice. And admission process was through nationwide cuet entrance exam and Merit based , after exam results i applied and got admission from the first allotment itself.

The overall campus (well maintained,clean, availability of basic facilities,gym, shopping complex, open air theatre,2 stadiums, indoor court ,large no of hostels,free bus service, good classrooms)
Seminars or lectures by skilled professors,less academic stress,quality education,24×7 reading/study room,Main and department libraries, canteen and tea time facilities, good mentorship
Strong security checks, good environment with lots of trees, good air quality, Interaction is possible with students from various parts of India

Need improvement in academics,last time rush to finish syllabus, Marking system , limited study resources
Same and average mess food ,some hostels are old and need maintenance
No cultural fests, less department or university programmes and competitions,No study leave for exam

Firstly I got admission to sacred heart college,Thevara, kerala.I studied one month there.Then I got admission in Pondicherry University,so I went to pondicherry for more exposure and opportunities.I also applied to university of hyderabad for alternative domain,but rejected.Cuet ug is the eligibility test for central universities like pondicherry. Admission process is quiet simple and smooth.They will publish rank list,then verification process and fee payment.

Admission in this college is very easy. Not much of a competition. In fact there is no proper admission in this college. Students refuse to join here. Likes

The campus greenary and vastness . 800 acres of campus near to a beach
No curfew in hostels and also friends can meet anytime inside the campus, can have group discussions etc
There are many clubs , small communities and groups (based on religion, politics etc))

Dislikes

Less hygeine in mess and hostel also department bathrooms are in pathetic condition
There is a safety concern for girls, security system is not that strong
Less accessibility to things as the university is located in outskirts Pondicherry. We don't have many of the online delivery apps access like swiggy blinkit and all

I applied to Jamia Millia Islamia for biotechnology which I didn't got due to my low score in entrance exam and I also tried to get into lovely professional University which I cancelled due to the high fees. Then my next option was Pondicherry University, the prime reason I came here is because of the course. Clearing CUET examination is required for the admission. Physics chemistry and biology are the required subjects for the entrance exam. The cutoff marks are generally not that high and also there are a majority of students who get into through spot admission.

All about Pondicherry University

Likes

The university campus is worth studying for indulging in nature and a peaceful environment.
The facilities are great here, they have library, reading halls, canteen, engineering wing, placement wing, nss, ncc and much more.
You can have great exposure to different kind culture and traditions and it accommodate various students from various regions

Dislikes

Still it needs regular maintenance and need for more buildings
Some professors and scholars are not fit to be reached here and still they opt this place
One major drawback is the location of the University as it is present in the outskirts of the Pondicherry

Admission:

I only tried to get in the Pondicherry University as it's near my home and the course is good enough for me. To join the Pondicherry University you have to write entrance exam based on the course you are selecting. There are CUET, NCET, GATE, CENTAC, if still there are spots left they call for spot admission.

As I have aimed to get addmission in st Joseph's College of engineering in Chennai in councelling. But due to some circumstances I couldn't get seat in that college. Due to parents opinion i have joined in sri manakula Vinayagar enginnering college. Comparison between st Joseph's and sri manakula Vinayagar enginnering college is cannot be done because of cost of living will be different from Chennai. Admission process is also simple as well can get addmission by approaching college office.

I like the way they teach the class overall the facility members are well trained and more supportive for the statements placements.
I also like the lab and college infrastructure the still maintain in a good way
I also like the transport facility and hostel facility which is arranged by the management for the outdoor students.

Dislikes

They didn't give the same preference or same share to the sports
I didn't like the time they allocate for the lunch the class hours is one hour and the lunch is 40 minutes
You may not be able to adjust to how fast the life at college

The qualification of faculty is very good even they teach us from scratch
Infrastructure is also decent and electricity and water never get off
They course curriculum is way more organised and they gave schedule in advance

We get very less amount of holiday specially north side people due to lack of festival
The co curricular activities are very less .and events are also not very good
The engeneering comittee is very bad if some issues happened in lecture hall we have to give 5 times letter to the dean
