Admission to the University of Hyderabad (UoH) for the academic year 2026 is strictly entrance-based. The university admits students to its various Integrated, Postgraduate (PG), and Doctoral (Ph.D.) programs through national-level entrance examinations such as CUET-UG, CUET-PG, GATE, CAT, NIMCET, and other university-specific tests, followed by counselling, document verification, and seat allotment.

Detailed Admission Procedure

Check Eligibility:
Candidates must first ensure they meet the eligibility criteria prescribed for the desired course (e.g., minimum marks in qualifying examination, subject requirements, and valid entrance test scores).
Entrance Examination:
- Undergraduate & Integrated Programs: Admission through CUET-UG conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Postgraduate Programs: Admission through CUET-PG, or in some cases, departmental entrance tests conducted by UoH.
M.Tech Programs: Admission via GATE 2025 scores.
MBA Program: Admission based on CAT 2024 scores followed by Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) conducted by the School of Management Studies, UoH.
MCA Program: Admission through NIMCET 2025 conducted by NITs.

Ques. How do I get into the University of Hyderabad for an M.A. in English?

Ans. You will be having an entrance examination in the month of May- June based on the merit in the entrance examination. You will be called for the interview after that based on the merit in the entrance examination and interview you will be called for the counselling.The seats will be given purely based on the written test and interview.

Ans. Preparing General Knowledge questions on national and University background like when university was established and Rankings, very easiest questions and typing skills and personal interview.

Ques. How good is the University of Hyderabad?

Ans. University of Hyderabad is a very nice campus, for study and sports purposes. The university is good, 24/7 Reading room available with internet access, hostel facility nice. Semester fee is also very less compared with other institutions except 2 or 3 departments.

Ques. What is the hostel fee for Indian students at Hyderabad Central University? Is there any financial assistance for backward classes?

Ans. The hostel fee for Indian students is INR 500 per year. For SC/ST/OBC students, there is an INR 750 per month financial assistance, which is paid by the Telangana govt. toward mess fee, which usually ranges around 1.6k–2.2k depending on various factors. There is no direct assistance as such for the room rent.

I like the greenary of the campus..and nature.The campus has many beautiful places and animals such as peacocks deers and many more
Coming to the faculty there are very highly talented and their teach skills are outstanding
The infrastructure is very good..and developments in many aspects are going on

Yearly fees structure of the course and scholarship

The annual fee for our course is 54000 without including hostel fee and mess fee. Both hostel and mess fee takes an amount of 40000. Scholarship is only available for students of Telangana but students from other states do not have any scholarships

Many fests are held throughout the year..But the annual fest of the campus is SUKOON held in 1st week of May A large library Indra Gandhi memorial library is set up in the university for the accessibility of books to the students

The hostel room is setup for 2 people. There are many hostels and each hostel has 300 rooms..the atmosphere in hostel is very good The mess food quality is below average..the menu varies from day to day..Non veg on every Wednesdays and Sundays

The admission into our course is through JEE MAINS and I secured 95.7 percentile in JEE. The cutoff varies from year to year for our batch the opening rank is 8000 and closing rank is 45000 in general catagory

When I joined this University that time University conducted one university addmission test and through that test I got addmission. Now to take addmission you have to give CUET exam. Eligibility criteria for CUET is 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. After results University will call for councelling and students has to attend in the councelling process.

Campus is so beautiful. Every students are very helpful.
Developed infrastructure and they teach using advanced technology, 24*7 wifi facilities in every building ,also reading room and library is always opened. Often they conduct several conference, workshop on various skills.

Admission:

I applied JNU,BHU, Pondicherry University,Center for Development Studies Kerla, GIPE. Igot confirm admission from BHU, Pondicherry University,CDS,GIPE I choose University of Hyderabad because my first preference was Financial Economics. And also it is a central university, academic fees are affordable,hostel facilities are there and availability of transport from my home state. I didn't get JNU as I couldn't clear the cutoff. Admission process: To get admission one must clear CUET PG exam . After getting selected for physical varification one must have to come Hyderabad University and will get admission.

I have applied for Pondicherry University, JNU and UoH. That was the first time when CUET PG has been conducted by NTA. I am from Andhra Pradesh and preferred Hyderabad and University never made me to feel regret about the decision. I have got a confirmed seat from JNU and Pondicherry University. After NTA release the score cards, UoH opens the admission window and whoever wish to join UoH need to apply for the same. University then release the Merit list of the applicants. Applicants need to attend for physical counselling cum document verification in order to secure the seat. The seats which will be vacant if so by admission withdrawals are filled by the next applicants in the merit list who have come for physical counselling.

It is ranked in top 10 of universities by NIRF .
Its a huge campus. There are many plants and animals .
Beautiful campus and we have a big library and we have reading rooms open 24/7 .

Dislikes

Political involvement is more . We have elections in pur campus . Sometimes there are many fights too between student union parties

I chose this because it is ranked in top 10 university by NIRF. And we have good infrastructure and study . There will be no resistrictions for aanything . We can also share ideas to improve university. Admission process is done in administrative office with respective documents . firstly we get alloted to this university by jee mains or some other exams . We also have many branches. There are phd students mtech students.

There is no discrimination in any aspect all over rhe college.
The campus is of around 2500 acres which is very pleasant and good for mind
We can explore very much in the university

Dislikes

We have to walk so much if we miss the bus.
It shoul be nice if we have our own vehicle.
There are buses for travelling which will be full sometimes.

Admission:

We can get admission into this university through JEE mains.some of other iit clgs and all are rejected because of rank.This college has more freedom which is useful to build ourselves comparing to other colleges, so i selectes this college.

Campus life at UOH is really good you can visit so many places inside the campus itself some of them name as buffalo lake, peacock lake, mushroom rock, etc.
The natural habitat and greenary of the campus I like the most.

Dislikes

These days so many development is happened inside the campus which results in deforestation which is not good.

I got this college after clearing jee mains exam and because of its vast habitat and the faculties I enrolled in this college. I putted this option during Jossa counselling and got it in my second round of counselling.

I would like to take particular example School of Social sciences which is in like history department we have total 65 members and out of them 35 hour girls and remaining our boys
Collage infrastructure is very good and government is also sanctioning benebuilding send they have been constructing new buildings

The first and foremost reason behind choosing this college , because it is affordable compared to any other college,.Moreover it is near to my home and it provides standard education .When I join the college it had institute of Eminence certificate ,so this attracted me a lot towards this institute.

For the University of Hyderabad (UoH) MCA (Master of Computer Applications) programme, no, you cannot join without any entrance exam. You must have a valid score in the entrance examination NIMCET (National Institute of Technology MCA Common Entrance Test). Admission is based on NIMCET exam scores. You also need to apply to UoH separately after clearing NIMCET. The eligibility criteria include having a Bachelor’s degree (in any discipline) with the required minimum marks.
