20 Jun, 2025 IIRF Overall Ranking 2025 has been released for the Top Government Universities. CU Kerala has been ranked 18 out of 50 univerities in India.

Central University of Kerala (CUK) was founded in 2009 at Kasaragod, Kerala. It is ranked at #151 out of 200 top universities in the overall category by NIRF ranking 2022. The university offers UG, PG, Ph.D. and Diploma courses in the field of Science, Arts, Social Work, International Relations & Politics, English & Comparative Literature, Education, Linguistics, and Legal Studies. CUK Kasaragod Admissions

To get admission, candidates need to qualify the National level Entrance exam called CUET that is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Seat allotments are done based on the ranks obtained in the exam

How to Apply?

Visit the official website of CUET
Fill in the form with necessary details and submit it
Pay the fee online/debit card/credit card
Candidates will receive an automated e-mail and SMS on their mobile number after successful payment
In case of payment through “Challan”, candidates may need to wait for 7 days to receive it
Keep a printout for the same as future reference.

Library- The University is equipped with two libraries for both the campus. The Library is a fully air-conditioned and spacious environment, with a WI-FI network and free internet access to all.
Hostel- Well-furnished hostels are there with excellent security and all necessary facilities.
Computer Lab- The lab is well equipped for the faculties, students, and researchers. The high-speed internet connectivity is over 1 Gbps which is useful for enlarging student’s overall knowledge and perspectives.

My opinion on my university

Likes

The atmosphere of the university is very calm and everywhere there is greenery.
My department is working in a democratic manner. Students have the space to request their needs and raise their concerns. It is very much helpful
People from different states helped me to improve my vocabulary.. Also department is providing free tutoring and mentoring classes to prepare for competitive exams.

Dislikes

Hostels that are built is not properly maintained. New hostels are facing many issues.
Asking cook salary from students is not a central university thing to do.
And I also don't like the delay in solving hostel inmates problem

Student view on exams

The papers of 4 semesters are sometimes interchanging and are completely removed from the semester by adding new papers which are more relevant. The examinations are done by giving proper gaps. Other matters rather than academics are not affected in internal marks.

Yearly fees structure of the college

In first semester while joining we have to pay more than 14 thousand and during the third semester another 8 thousand is need to be paid. If the student have e grants the money will refunded to them. And a 720 rs of exam is needed to be paid for each semester. But most students get e grants with a delay.And hostel fee includes 3540 each semester. More than 2000 for each month mess fee. Cook salaray should be given by the student. That is the one fee whole students doesn't like to pay as we need some benefits from studying in a central university.

College fest and various activities

There CANKAMA an art festival conducted in every year. It is a school wise competition. It almost long for 5 days. University would be at its most vibrant form at that time. Library facilities are not so good.The number of books are a bit less. Online journals are available there.Every class rooms are smartrooms.sports and other extra curricular activities are conducted. But the ground facilities to conduct sports competition is not there. And for arts festival or any other union programme. There is no a proper auditorium is available which hold every students at a time.

Student views on the faculty

All faculty members of my department are well educated and qualified. They are very much capable to deal with thier respective papers. They are good at guiding the students.They are very much helpful.

Admission process of the college

My course can be adopted by any one who have a bachelor's degree. Reservation for seats is also there. Admission is getting through attending the central university entrance test. After that university will call or mail each students to join. The exams were good.. Was not much difficult. Here the admission process is a little bit slow. Most of the students come on the same day and some fees are to be paid at different sections. That makes them to run a lot. If all the payment is made online.. These difficulties can be rectified.

I choose it because it's a central university and I wanted to explore the environmental science.but to be honest the course is not exploring anything additional just the teachings and in class only .I thought that there will be more field work and extra curricular work for environmental science but there was not any of them there was an industrial visit and field visit

CUK : An Untold Story

Likes

Campus have a very good library with most of the books students need. Free wifi facility is also provided for students. Water purifiers are water filters are there in every department. The main hall in campus is in sabarmati (chemistry block)
Campus have 3 good food courts which serves great snacks in great affordable pricing. The hygiene and cleanliness is also very much appreciable. The campus have a sunset point with a really great view of sun set.
The campus is 320 acres which is mostly utilized good.. The campus have good infrastructure and great atmosphere. Campus is also nature friendly and have transportation facilities like bicycle for travel across 320 acres.

Dislikes

The behavior of some securities in hostel and campus is not much appreciable. The campus have a curfew after 12. And especially for itep students, (girls) there is a curfew after 8:30 even when library is open till 12
The region where the campus is situated is currently facing wildlife threats like leopards and all. Students have also spotted wild boars and fox around campus. There are jungle like areas even inside the campus where students should be careful.

Admission:

To under to Central University Of Kerala for integrated teacher education program course you have to attend the examination which is national common entrance test by in ncte for preparing student of various skills to be great teacher and the cutoff mark was approximately 240 for OBC candidates and was around 200 for SC category candidates. Most of the student who is to get admission in Central University Of Kerala get there admission and the exams and overload admission experience was great. A student with 55% above in higher secondary examinations can apply for this course. There is three kind of course that comes under these itep. 1 is BSc B.Ed next one is BA B.Ed and another one is BCom B.Ed the cutoff for BSC B.Ed is always high and BCom b ed s very low. There is a total number of 150 seats for all these courses. 50 seats are there for B.com 50 seats are there for BSC and 50 seats are there for BA. Out of the 50 of BSC 25 is for Zoology and 25 is for physics. Out of 50 of BA 25 is forEnglish and 25 is for economics. The admission procedure was smooth and easy as the faculties were really helpful and friendly. Any student who wish to do this integrated teacher education program course can easily apply and get admission in Central University of Kerala

The composition of the institution is nice, because of the representation of almost all states of the country.

The infrastructure provided at department as well as hostels are of high quality.
The central university of Kerala has a very good academics, where students get a comprehensive knowledge about the industry.
