30 Aug, 2025 CU Himachal Pradesh has released the Fee Structure for AY 2025-26. The UG fees is ₹ 6,990 -₹ 4.58 Lakhs.

CU Himachal Pradesh has released its Fee Structure for the academic session 2025-26. The PG total fees is ₹ 11,500 -₹ 43,100 .

CU Himachal Pradesh has also released the Fee structure for AY 2025-26 for PG Diploma programs. The Academic Fee is ₹ 2,700 .

CU Himachal Pradesh Fee structure for AY 2025-26 for Doctorate program has been released. The Academic Fee is ₹ 8,460 -₹ 19,200 .

CUHP or Central University of Himachal Pradesh is a public university funded and regulated by the University Grants Commission (UGC). CUHP offers more than 45 courses across several disciplines including Science, Arts, Management, Technology, Education, etc. CUHP has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It is also approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

CUHP offers 7 undergraduate programmes and 23 post graduate programmes including 6 postgraduate Diploma courses as well as certificate courses. The undergraduate courses include B.Sc, B.A, B.Voc, B.Lib.ISc, and BFA. CUHP post graduate courses include M.Sc, M.A, MBA, M.Lib.ISc, MCA, and MSW. PhD courses are also offered at doctoral level.

Admissions to the UG, PG, and Certificate courses are merit-based. However, admissions for post graduate courses depend on the entrance exams (FEAT) conducted by CUHP. Students can apply for PG via the university’s official website. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a UGC recognized university with a minimum of 50 percent marks in total. The last date for registration, examination and results is September 2023(Tentative).

CUHP is located in the Kangra district of Dharamsala, in Himachal Pradesh. The construction work of the university campus is in process and CUHP will soon have 15 schools, 3 colleges, 62 departments, and 81 centers of study.

The university is in collaboration with various other organizations such as ICSI, IRCS, Center for North East Studies, etc. CUHP also has different student committees and groups that hone its students’ talents and soft skills. Some of these committees include the debating club, music club, photography club, etc.

CUHP Scholarship

Central University of Himachal Pradesh offers scholarships to its candidates who either qualify on merit or their families have a lower income than INR 2 LPA. Students with high scores in their examinations will be reimbursed with full tuition fees.

The scholarships offered by the university include Freeship/Fee concession and Jyoti Prakash Support scholarship. To avail the Freeship/Fee concession scholarship students must be studying in their first year of M.A History with a minimum of 50 percent marks in qualifying exams and the annual family income should be up to INR 5 Lakhs.

CUHP Placements

CUHP university has a dedicated cell for training and placement which aims at making quality placement opportunities available for its students. The cell conducts necessary programs throughout the year to prepare the students for placements. The placement is conducted on-campus. In the last two years CUHP has placed 50 out of 501 students through their placement programme. The median salary offered to the candidate in 2020 in the PG programme was INR 3.50 LPA.

Ques. Can I apply for distance education or correspondence course from here?

Ans. No, as of now the college only offers full-time academic programs. There are different streams available for UG, PG, and research courses. Also, there is accommodation available to outstation candidates. For details on available courses refer to the article above.

Ques. Are the courses here approved and affiliated?

Ans. All the courses at Central university are approved by AICTE for its conduct on campus. On successful course completion, a student is provided with a valid degree certificate which can be used for professional interviews and placements.

Ques. Are there any fee concessions or scholarships?

Ans. Last year, 4 undergraduate and 185 post-graduate students received full tuition fee reimbursement from Institution Funds. 2 undergraduate and 25 post-graduate students also received full tuition fee reimbursement from the State and/ or Central Government. The selection of such students is on the basis of merit.

Ques. Can I pursue a job while engaging in a full-time course at CUHP?

Ans. No, you will not be allowed to take up a job or any employment without prior approval of the university authorities. This approval will be provided to candidates who submit a NOC from the employer stating that they have been granted study leave for the duration of the program and are allowed to undertake obligatory work placement towards the fulfillment of the course requirement.

Affordable fees compared to most colleges across India offering same variety of courses.
Location of the University in the arms of snowcapped Dhauladhar ranges. Beautiful scenery around the campus.
Good and relevant syllabus structure upto industry standards.

Dislikes

faculty experience varied from great to awful.
Lack of placement opportunities as the university is extremely research oriented.
Lack of cultural fests and course related workshops or events(hackathons, coding camps etc)

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

I am BCA grad and so pursuing MCA was a natural choice. Mca is considered academically equivalent to B.tech so if you qant to sit for various companies with B.tech preference, this might be a good choice. The curriculum is relevant for real-world jobs as no SWE can survive without algo and development skills. Teaching methods can be vastly improved. The lack of will to have an engaging lecture and a love of a successful but stagnant life which the faculty has achieved(my assumption) needs to be changed. The frequency and timing of exams is at par with standards.

Fees structure of the course per semester

Fee per semester was ?9650/- which would make a total of ?19300/- per year. This included Tuition fees, registration fees, admission fees, lab development fees etc. in addition there was a one-time caution fees of ?3000/- submitted at the time of admission and refunded after completion of course.

Various fest, sports and library of the college

There are no fests held(sorry if i am forgetting any) at the campus. Maybe at Dharamshala campus but none at Shahpur campus(where i studied). The library is small but books are plenty for all the courses if the University. But, slighly outdated. The classes are below par in infrastructure. MCA class wee held in CR 12 where benches were below par and a laptop couldn't be used in a comfortable manner. The IT lab however, was upto standards with good systems in place. Sports and extracurricular activites were slim to none. There were no student groups but you could join student political groups(ABVP,NSUI) if you are into that. RSS was also there.

Faculty and learning experience in the campus

faculty-to-student ratio is good primarly because of lower number of batches taken in every year. A total of 38 students are granted admission every year. The faculties are approachable to the students and are extremely civil in their attitude. Mr. Manoj Dhiman is an extremely brilliant teacher who has the right knowledge and the ability to impart it to students in an excellent manner. Always loved his classes. Other teachers, although might be extremely knowledgable and intelligent in their fields, were not good teachers and failed to impart their knowledge to students, opting for easy way outs by turning entire syllabus into a PPT assignment for students, turning all lectures to student discussions.(my humble, personal opinion) There are around 7-8 exams inthe first two semesters which reduce to 3-4 in the last two primarily because of research subjects which don’t require exams. The exams were pretty easy as they were internally counducted and checked but off late difficulty has risen as they are now externally conducted and checked. Ocassionaly,10-20 percent of students fail to clear exams.

What is the admission process of the college?

I gave CUET(PG) which made me eligible for several Central Universities across India. i had got selected for MCA course in Central University of Tripura and Central University of Karnataka as well. I chose CUHP as it was close to my Hometown and the opoortuinites at all other place were more or less same.

Night Life

Nightlife is non-existent in campus area air nearby palces as most places shut down after dusk. It was a village area so it is understandable. There is a Rudra gym if you are interesed in exercising. you would find many dhabas aound campus. if you want to try something exotic, you should try Shahpur about 3kms from the university and main market in the region. It is not safe for girls/boys to roam around at night.

At Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Atmosphere was peaceful and amazing.

Admission:

I chose CUHP Dharamshala because there was international level study. I found some good reviews on internet about this University. No I did not get a rejection from other universities but CUHP was near to my hometown. Master of Arts in English admission process was smooth and easy. Eligibility-Any Grauduation Degree Cut off for admission was 80-90%.

Best 2 years of life and all the people met are helpful and genuine with providing support and local environment outside the university is also good

For B.Ed. admissions in Himachal Pradesh, candidates must apply through the Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), which conducts an entrance exam for this course. The HPU B.Ed. Entrance Test for the 2025 academic session was held on May 27, 2025, and the result was announced on June 10, 2025.

The test was an objective-type test, consisting of 150 multiple-choice questions across five sections, with a duration of two hours. The minimum qualifying marks were 35% (53 out of 150), with a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped candidates

CU Himachal Pradesh Admission 2025 is ongoing for UG programs for Non-CUET aspirants. The last date to apply is July 23, 2025. CU Himachal Pradesh PG Admission Registration against vacant seats is ongoing for the 2025 session. The last date to apply @cuhimachaladm.samarth.edu.in is July 23, 2025.

Admission to undergraduate programs is on the basis of academic merit in qualifying examination, i.e., HSC or 10+2. PG Degree admission is based on a national-level entrance test conducted by the university. The University conducts a separate entrance test, Himachal Pradesh Kendriya Vishwavidyalaya Shodh Patrata Pariksha (HPKVSPP) for Ph.D. as well as M. Phil. Admissions.

Students who have taken CUET PG 2022 can register and participate in the counseling process conducted by the Central University of Himachal Pradesh. The registration will begin on 7 October 2022 and the deadline to register for counseling is 16 October 2022. The first merit list will be released on 21 October 2022.
