CU Himachal Pradesh Course Admission 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

The MBA degree at CUHP is a full-time interdisciplinary program with an annual intake of 90 students. The students have the liberty of custom-designing their own program within set guidelines. 

Completion of MBA degree requires earning of 80 PG credits in 4 semesters. A student who opts to leave the program after successful completion of two semesters and 40 PG credits, is awarded an Advanced Diploma in Management.

CUHP also offers a MBA in Travel and Tourism Management through the Department of Tourism and Travel Management

Eligibility

• MBA applicants should have completed a Bachelor’s/ UG degree or equivalent from a recognized University.
• They should have scored a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade in the qualifying exam.
• Applicants are required to appear for the CUET (PG).

Selection Criteria

• CUHP admits students on the basis of merit in the composite score taking together academic record, Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PG) Score, and Group Discussion (GD)/ Personal Interview (PI).
• Three consequent selection lists are released after the declaration of the Admission Test results, on the basis of which students can register for admission

The four-semester M.Sc. degree at CUHP is offered in 

• Mathematics
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Botany
• Zoology
• Environmental Sciences and Computational Biology & Bioinformatics. 

Sanctioned annual intake for each specialization is 33 students. For successful completion of the M. Sc. degree, students need to earn 80 PG credits.

Eligibility

• For M.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics specializations, applicants need to have completed an undergraduate degree in a non-medical/ Engineering/ Technology stream from a recognized University.
• A Bachelor’s degree holder in Chemistry, Botany, or Zoology from a recognized university can opt for M.Sc. degree in either Chemistry, Botany, or Zoology specializations respectively.
• M.Sc. in Computational Biology & Bio-Informatics as well as M.Sc. in Environmental Science requires a Bachelor’s/ UG degree in Science discipline from a recognized university
• They should have scored a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade in the qualifying exam.
• Applicants have to qualify the respective subject in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PG).

Selection Criteria

• CUHP admits students on the basis of merit in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PG) Score.
• Three consequent selection lists are released after declaration of the Admission Test results, on the basis of which students can register for admission.

The MCA degree at CUHP is a six-semester program with an annual intake of 33 students.

Eligibility

• MCA applicants need to hold a Bachelor’s/ UG degree in science/ engineering/ technology stream from a recognized University
• They should have scored a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade in the qualifying exam.
• Applicants are required to appear for the CUHP conducted PG Entrance Test FEAT.

Selection Criteria

• CUHP admits students on the basis of merit in the Further Education Admission Test (FEAT) Score.
• The university releases three consecutive selection lists after declaration of the Admission Test results, on the basis of which students can register for admission.

CUHP offers four-semesters M.A. degree in

Eligibility

• Except for Hindi and Sanskrit, all other specializations in the M.A. program at CUHP requires the applicants to qualify any Bachelor’s/UG degree from a recognized University.
• M.A. in Hindi applicants need to hold an undergraduate degree in Hindi from a recognized university.
• For M.A. in Sanskrit, applicants are required to have completed either an undergraduate degree in Sanskrit or the Shastri examination from a recognized University. Applicants who hold a Shastri qualification will be given 10% weightage on their score, limited to the prescribed maximum marks.
• Applicants must have scored a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade in the qualifying exam.
• Applicants have to appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PG).

Selection Criteria

• CUHP admits students on the basis of merit in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PG) Score.
• The university releases three consecutive selection lists after the declaration of the Admission Test results, on the basis of which students can register for admission.

CUHP offers one-year PG Diploma in Deen Dayal Upadhyay Studies, Jammu and Kashmir Studies, Yoga Studies, Hindu Studies, Ambedkar Studies, and Tribal Studies. The programs, leading to 40 PG credits, have a sanctioned annual intake of 30 students each.

Eligibility

• PG Diploma applicants should have qualified any Bachelor’s/UG degree from a recognized University.
• Applicants have to appear for the Further Education Admission Test (FEAT).

Selection Criteria

• PG Diploma applicants are selected on the basis of academic merit in the qualifying examination.
• A single selection list will be released by the university after the declaration of the Admission Test results, on the basis of which students can register for admission.

CUHP conducts the B.Lib.I.Sc. and the M.Lib.I.Sc. degrees through its Department of Library and Information Science. Both programs are of 2 semester duration. Students have to earn a total of 40 PG credits to complete the degree requirement. The sanctioned annual intake for both programs is 33.[16]

Eligibility

• B.Lib.I.Sci applicants should hold a Bachelor’s/ UG degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
• Students applying for the M.Lib.I.Sci. program must have completed a B.Lib.I.Sc. degree from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification in the specified discipline.
• Applicants must have scored a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade in the qualifying exam.
• Applicants are required to appear for the CUHP conducted PG Entrance Test FEAT.

• CUHP admits students on the basis of merit in the Further Education Admission Test (FEAT) Score.
• The university releases three consecutive selection lists after declaration of the Admission Test results, on the basis of which students can register for admission.

At the undergraduate level, CUHP conducts B.Sc., B.A., BFA and B.Voc. degrees. Barring the BFA program which is delivered over eight semesters, all the other undergraduate programs are of 6 semester duration. The B.Sc. and B.A. courses requires 140 UG credits for degree completion. BFA program, on the other had requires 192 UG Credit and B.Voc. program needs the candidates to complete 180 UG Credit.

*Please note, candidates who have qualified the Prak-Shastri Part II or Visharad examination, will be given 10% weightage in their composite score limited to the prescribed maximum marks.

Selection Criteria

CUHP admits undergraduate students on the basis of academic merit in the qualifying examination.

CUHP offers the research-oriented full-time M.Phil. degree in 

• Deen Dayal Upadhyay Studies
• Jammu and Kashmir Studies
• Education
• Social Work
• Punjabi. 

The duration of the program varies from 1 to 2 years, leading to 60 RD credits. The sanctioned annual intake for M. Phil. is 10 students in each specialization.

Eligibility

• Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in relevant discipline from a recognized University.
• They should have scored a minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying examination.
• Applicants have to appear and qualify the CUHP conducted Entrance Test.
• Applicants who have qualified JRF/ NET/ SLET are exempted from the M. Phil. Admission test. Please note that JRF qualified candidates are deemed to have scored 100% marks in the CUHP admission test and NET/ SLET qualified candidates are considered to have scored marks equivalent to the top scorer of the year’s entrance test.
• Teacher Research Fellowship Awardees teaching in a higher education institution are considered at par with NET/ SLET qualifiers and are exempted from the admission test requirement, subject to meeting the basic eligibility conditions and other specified criteria.

Selection Criteria

• M.Phil. applicants are selected on the basis of admission test score and academic merit in the qualifying examination, subject to fulfillment of cut-off criteria as specified by the School Board from time-to-time.
• Applicants are called for a personal interview on the basis of admission test score. A single selection list will be released by the university after the declaration of the Admission Test results, on the basis of which students can register for admission.

CUHP offers the innovative research-oriented Ph.D. degree in several disciplines. For course completion, Ph.D. scholars need to earn 120 RD Credits in at least 3 years/ 6 semesters while the maximum duration allowed is 6 years/ 12 semesters. The university may consider granting a further extension of 2 semesters above the maximum time limit under special cases for the completion of the Ph.D. degree.

Candidates who have completed M.Phil. from CUHP, will be considered for lateral entry into Ph.D., provided they apply within three years of receiving the M. Phil. degree.

Eligibility

• Ph.D. Applicants should have completed a post-graduation degree from a UGC-recognized university or either a professional degree declared equivalent to the post-graduation degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body or a foreign degree accredited by an authorized Assessment and Accreditation Agency.
• They should have scored a minimum aggregate of 55% or an equivalent grade B in the UGC 7-point scale in the qualifying examination.
• Candidates who hold a regular Degree equivalent to M.Phil. from either an Indian or an accredited foreign institution will also be considered eligible to apply.
• Candidates who have completed M.Phil.(Regular) course work with at least 55% aggregate score or an equivalent grade B in the UGC 7-point scale, will be considered eligible to pursue research-work leading to Ph.D. Degree.
• Sponsored candidates employed with a higher education institution/ govt. department/ PSU/ R&D Organization/ private industry with at least three years of experience and relieved on study leave to pursue Ph.D. are also eligible to apply.
• Ph.D. applicants must have qualified either UGC-NET/CSIR/JRF/ICAR-NET/SLET/GATE/or the university conducted entrance test HPKVSPP.

Selection Criteria

• Ph.D. applicants should accompany a 1000-word research proposal and two recommendation letters.
• Candidates who score a minimum of 50% in the entrance test are called for Personal Interview.
• Admission is based on a composite score taking together academic merit, admission test score, and personal interview performance, with weightage distributed at the rate of 40%, 30% and 30% respectively.
