The library has various books and is fully air contioned and has systems/ pcs as well where one can easily study. there is a gym and various clubs as well like dance etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

the course curriculum is 50-50 as it has all the things needed for a student of bioinformatics should know but there's much more things to be added, more practical based and both the course curriculum and the method of teaching should be improved.

Course Curriculum Overview

As my field of study is new in life sciences in this area so it is developing day by day. The syllabus is composed by our Great head of the department based on the future requirements for research purposes and innovations. I wold like to express that i am learning so much good things. I should state that the improvement regarding to the curriculam, the department should organise webinars and research expo for having knowledge and ideas to students.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is 1:8. The relation between teacher and student is friend like. The best faculty here is Dr. Prashanth Sir and Dr. Nidheesh Sir. Their teaching method is quite practical which attracts more. Here, I don't like Sanjay Sir as he goes out of syllabus while teaching. Here exams are 2 mid sems and 2 semesters. Exams are moderate medium to difficult.

Course Curriculum Overview

Here the syllabus designed is quite unique and advanced. It makes us to understand real world problems and application based. It makes anyone to make and understand deep practical knowledge rather than theory. Difficulty level depends on student and timing of exams for mid sem is 2 hrs for 50 marks and 3 hrs for 100 marks

Campus Life

All annual hindu festivals like Krishna Jayanti, Onam etc are celebrated. The University's affiliation with Amma, Maata Amritanandamayee involves it in the Amrita Ashram's celebration but no one is forced to join and can join based on their choice. Amrita has it's own cultural event called Kalotsav and a sports event called Inter-Amrita Sports meet. The clubs here work under a central committee called Creatome. Which is extremely active and has six wings: Science, arts, sports, literature, mental well-being and singing and dancing. It also has a media team which is actively involved in documentation of events. The events conducted by them actively involve all students and serve as the perfect break amidst the laborious assignments and studious schedule of the college. The teachers are also very understanding and cooperative with the events conducted and ensure there is no clash between the events and assignments or tests as such. The library is well stocked and students have access tobthe main library at the main University as well. There are books covering all aspects of biology, computer science, programming languages and data science available. Every classroom has a projector and screen and e-resources are the way of teaching here. At the same time, faculty also encourage students to study from real books and are thorough in experimental teaching as well. There are two computer labs available for students use and are well equipped technologically. They are also well maintained and any problems are immediately met by the department's dedicated technical support. Amrita actively supports sports and participates in Inter-Amrita Sports meet. Many students get chances to participate based on their excellence in the field. The college takes care of students transport and accomodation for the sports meet and is extremely supportive.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio would be 2(faculty):15 students. Faculty student relationship is very amicable and encouraging. Students can approach any faculty to discuss any matter or problem, regardless of the time or it's relevance to the course. Dr. Geetha Kumar, who teaches Cellular Biology for Sem1 is extremely knowledgeable and pushes students to think like a researcher and analyse information rather than just blindly accepting it. Dr. Nidheesh, the head of student affairs along with being the faculty for some courses like database engineering, is also someone who pushes students to make the maximum of their course and inform on how to be more accountable for their actions and responsibilities that are soon to be taken. I have not disliked any faculties so far. Since all of them are extremely approachable and very supportive as well. There is a mid-semester exam and another end-semester exam. Both of them are quite tough and students cannot score easily without consistent preparation. The questions are not aimed at the memory power of the student but rather test their understanding of the concept and depth of learning in the subject. Atleast 10% of the students fail the midterms as that is extra hard.

Campus Life

Overall campus life is very great. As we know Banaras Hindu University offers a very big and spacious campus for students in every aspect. From little shops to and juice stops to Maggie points to places to hangout after classes make it so much better in every sense. The campus is lined with trees and make it much more cooler than the regular city which makes it so easier for the students to survive in the heat of summers. Apart from this aspect the campus offers an number of different courses that can be pursued apart from your main course in the freee timings. Like swimming, mountaineering, different social clubs and events keep happening time to time to bring out the best in students. The campus also offers the NCC program for students which gives the student to embrace the social part of our life. The campus hasbits very own hospital that offers us treatment for each and every possible ailment in free to the students and staff present thier . All this makes our campus life so good.

Faculty

There is very efficient and qualified faculty in BHU. Every faculty member is well established in his or her field of specialzation. Every course offers a very balanced amount of faculty for the number of students. Say if a batch has 60 students for zoology Hons. Their are almost 10-12 teachers teaching the same so their is good division of topics and attention over each student .

Course Curriculum Overview

the course is constructed very nice way like every semester is well suited according to the industrial requirement of our domain , bioinformatics , as we have ngs , python , machine learning , sql ,r , data analysis, all the required field of our interest. but the teacher's let us explore our way ot our course, that's good though but sometimes this become hectic when you think about your future like you are not doing anything, futhermore there is a ample amount of time you'll get so you can do and improve your skills as per your interest. improvements can be done like if all teachers teach us from very basics and some use to do, as we all are from differnt- different background.

Faculty

In our department, there is 3-4 teachers who use to teach us our core subjects, Hod ( head of department) is well qualified and he use to teach very well to us. he use to teach from very basics considering nobody knows anything, like that's the best thing he use to do while teaching, furthermore , we have faculty, who had post doc from foriegn, and she is having a lots of expierience from there, and she also always there to help out thier students, also we have phd scolars from seria , he is very nice guy and always there to help out us, whatever it is like form filling, guidence , internships etc.

Campus Life

The campus life is very amusing and nice. Various functions keep happening at all the time in the university. All the students from different states, religions that come here enjoy and celebrate their respective festivals and rituals and the university supports this. If we talk about availability of books that it consists of all kinds of books related to the subject, the issuing process is easy too in the library. The facilities in the classroom are good. Every classroom has AC in it and the furniture is good too. The projectors are available too in all classrooms. University conducts the sports events every year and students can participate in it as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

The complete cost of education here is not very much and can be paid . The charges university takes are appropriate as per the place. The scholarships are provided every year based on category as well as merit. Campus employment is not as such great in all departments but by the scheme of earn with learn the students can earn money as well as study in the university. The professor though can recommend and allow students to go out for internships.
