Course Curriculum Overview :

Bioinformatics is interdisciplinary field which includes computer science, biology, mathematics, physical science. Thus it's give a broad area to work on and gain more knowledge. The course curriculum is well designed from the very basic of Linux system and programming language, it goes to advance level till algorithm and machine learning, genomics, Drug Discovery etc.

Class Size : 55Course Fees : INR 16600 per year

Internships Opportunities :

In the final semester in M.sc. Bioinformatics course the internship is not available or is not permitted. The students are required to do their final year project in the department only and guides are allotted to each student under which they work

Placement Experience :

There is placement in the campus, various companies visit the campus for placement, placement are more in management department and economics department. Particularly in Bioinformatics there is very less placement but it's there and some students get recruited for bioinformatics company and most of students prefer going for research so placement is not a concern

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Tution fees is generally less , in first and third semester it's around 13k and in 2nd and 4th sem it's 3400. Also scholarship is provided to top 10 students based on CUET exam and every semester exam. scholarship depends on financial condition of students also.

Campus Life :

Regular fest happens. Many different clubs to join , many different games to be played, movie screening, acts , flashmob etc. Very happening regular bus service is provided for the students to facilitate to department and hostel.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel fees is very less 900 per month, which is free for girl students. 3 student reside in a room . rooms are in better condition with daily cleaning and proper water facility. Mess is just ok with average food, fee for mess is 74 per day and mess is compulsory

Hostel Fee : INR 900 per year

Admission :

The admission to M.sc. Bioinformatics course was through the CUET pg exam , particularly by the life sciences paper. Eligibility for the course is graduation in Biology, physics, chemistry, maths or computer sciences. The application forms can be found at NTA website and also on Pondicherry university website about the course fees and structure. Also bioinformatics department has its own website bicpu , where information about department can be obtained.

My Experience

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course I'm studying is Disaster Management. The course structure is perfect with knitting our knowledge in disasters both in scientific aspects as well as social aspects. The GIS course is really appreciative as this will be further useful fo us students as a future disaster manager. Though the field practices are less, we will be having a project only semester during our last sem.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is good, matching with international standards. NEP 2020 is also followed in this campus. As this is matching international standards mean that it is good for future also. Teacher will teach with power point presentations and you have to give power point presentation for internal assessment and monthly test evaluation will be done. Internal examination value is 40% and end semester value is 60%. If you studied well you will score good. Average marking is 8.2 CGPA in department of Biotechnology.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus is very light for applied psychology in this university. There are only 3 semesters which have written exams. The last semester is just project and viva.One factor i liked about the curriculum is that in the third semester we can choose our specialty based on our interests.there are 3 options counselling clinical and industrial psychology.
