Central University of Jammu (CUJ), Jammu, is a Central University which was established through the Central Universities Act, 2009 and is fully funded by the Central Government. The Central University of Jammu was established in the year 2011, sprawling in a campus covers an area of 600 Acres and is under construction at Village Bagla, Raya Suchani in District Samba. CUJ is envisioned to be a leading Centre of higher learning, integrating culture, knowledge, philosophy, science and value system of our heritage with modern and emerging concepts, skills, technology, and management practices. The university now offers five-year Integrated (UG/ PG) programs, various PG and Ph.D. programs in almost all schools. It offers Electronics and Communication Engineering and ECE (Avionics) mentored by IIST-ISRO at "School of Engineering" Central University of Jammu.

Central University of Jammu Courses and Admission

Under Central University of Jammu Admission 2024, the university provides many courses through the constituent schools and departments in many disciplines and their specializations. Admissions are done on the grounds of Common University Entrance Test (CUET) on all India basis. In some courses, the University may Conduct its own Entrance Test subject to the approval of Competent Bodies of the University after the conduction of CUET. Faculty Rooms and Cabins: Faculty has well equipped IT-enabled cubicles and workstations providing them all facilities for pursuing academic and research activities.
Seminar Hall: Well-equipped Seminar Hall in the TAB with a seating capacity of 170 has been created.
Healthcare: Medical facilities of in-house Doctor have been made available for the students, staff, and faculty of the University.

Infrastructure and landscape of that area is very well developed
scenery and weather of the location is well liked by all
faculty of the university is very friendly and guiding, and also very understanding.

Dislikes

transportation facilities of the university is very poor and is very frustrating very times
the security is very picky as they sometimes get annoyed if we didn't wear id card even they know us that we study in this university
air conditioning do not work even the central ac infrastructure is provided as it a central university and very less water coolers are available and the auditorium is very small

Student view on course curriculum

environmental sciences is a professional course as it is very important related to our future. the curriculum of our university is based on a 9 to 5 scheme. but sometimes when the professors are on leave the students get frustrated as they come from many kilometers away from the university, especially in winter. teachers should focus more on the practical part of the curriculum as it is more important for the real world than the theory. timing of the exams is relatively good as it is not very early in the morning or very late in the evening.

Internships Opportunities

I HAVE NOT DONE ANY INTERNSHIP SO I DO NOT KNOW THE DETAILS. BUT AS MY FRIENDS DID INTERNSHIPS AT VARIOUS INSTITUTIONS LIKE IIT ROORKEE, PANJAB UNIVERSITY. AS THEY DID THIS ONLY FOR EXPERIENCE NO STIPEND IS PAID TO THEM.

Placement provided by the college and package being offered

Placements at my college are average. If no campus placement is offered then students searchs for jobs on their own or get the help fron the elders or professors about the future. After 2nd semester completion, the students become eligible for the campus placements. I don't know the details of the companies that visited and made no offers. the highest average package as per company offered is 12lpa. The percentage is not the main criterion for getting placement it is based on the interviews. My plan after getting the degree is to further pursue studies as a PhD scholar.

THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD AND NORMAL AT THE UNIVERSITY, VARIOUS TYPES OF FUNCTIONS ARE ORGANIZED AT DIFFERENT TIME INTERVALS. VARIOUS FESTIVALS LIKE PONGAL, DIWALI, HOLI, CHRISTMAS AND OTHER FESTIVALS ARE CELEBRATED AT AROUND THEIR EXPECTED DATE ON THE CALENDER. NCC AND NSS ARE AVAILABLE AT OUR UNIVERSITY. SOCIAL CLUBS ARE THERE OF DIFFERENT TYPES THAT CONDUCT THE DIFFERENT PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. THE LIBRARY HOLDS VARIOUS BOOKS OF DIFFERENT SUBJECTS, ABOUT 2000-3000 OR MORE BOOKS AVAILABLE IN THE UNIVERSITY'S LIBRARY. CLASSROOMS ARE NORMALLY SIMPLE AND WELL-CLEANED. ANNUAL SPORTS MEET HELD AND SPAN OVER ONE OR TWO WEEKS, IN WHICH VARIOUS KINDS OF SPORTS ACTIVITIES ARE HELD. STUDENTS RUN A FOOD SHOP IN THE UNIVERSITY WHICH HELP IN STUDENTS GETTING VARIOUS FOOD ITEMS WHICH WERE NOT AVAILABLE IN HE UNIVERSITY CANTEEN.

Student views on the faculty and exams

our department has 3 professors and 3-4 assistant professors. examination time is not fixed as they take exams according to their needs. Marking is heavily influenced by the student's handwriting and gives more marks for that, and they teach mostly by showing low-quality presentations. course is structured into four semesters of 6 months each but still, our MSc is completed in one year and 5-6 months. exams are relatively difficult based on what they teach us. Subjects are selected based on the curriculum needs.

Admission process and eligibility criteria

the main reason is that this university is the first university that replied to my application for admission and also it is in the state in which I was residing at that time, which makes it more favorable for me to assess and reach. I got the confirmed admission form from the Central University of Punjab much later than this university. I did not get rejected from any university to which I applied as I applied to only 2 universities. Eligibility is to get the expected cutoff marks in the CUET exam by NTA & the procedure is to submit the required documents after the release of the list. overall experience is very good and normal.

Night life inside the campus

GYM IS AVAILABLE IN THE HOSTEL ONLY. THERE WAS NO NIGHTLIFE IN THE UNIVERSITY AS IT IS LOCATED NEAR A VILLAGE SO THE VILLAGE ELDERS DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION TO ROAM IN THE NIGHT. LIBRARY CLOSED AT 5:30 PM I WAS VERY PLEASED BY THE CAMPUS LIFE DUE TO THE GOOD FRIENDS I MADE THERE. FAMOUS HANGOUT PLACES INSIDE THE UNIVERSITY ARE ABHINAV TEELA, TAPRI,ECOPARK AND NEAR SURGAL DEV JI

An inside overview of Central University of Jammu

Dislikes

Transportation is quite a hassle and there is very less accessibility of transport nearby the institute
The university is still under construction

Admission:

The college chose me well i gave the exam and it was the first one to select also it was in my nearby place so it became a good choice and the faculty proved the decision right unlike other universities the faculties cannot be approached that easily but here are mentors provied to make it easy also the fee was affordable.

The second thing like in my college is campus area located in between mountain.
Firstally i like in my college is hostel it is located in college campus .

Dislikes

The last thing is not a proper medical facielities
The first thing i do not like is transport in my college it is the major problem in my college.

Admission:

When i deciding on my college , i applied to several reputed institution including IIITs, GFTIs and few privates universities. However, I chose my current college because it focus on cyber security, modern facilities,and a curriculum designed with industry collaboration.

Likes

scenery and weather of the location is well liked by all
Infrastructure and landscape of that area is very well developed

Dislikes

air conditioning do not work even the central ac infrastructure is provided as it a central university and very less water coolers are available and the auditorium is very small
transportation facilities of the university is very poor and is very frustrating very times
the security is very picky as they sometimes get annoyed if we didn't wear id card even they know us that we study in this university

The Central University of Jammu does not offer a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Nursing program. However, The basic eligibility for the BSc in Nursing is that the candidates should have completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects.

It is compulsory that each candidate should apply and appear for CUCET to get admission into the university. The CUCET application form is made available in online mode only on the website. But the application fee can be remitted in both online and offline modes. In online mode, candidates have to pay via Credit/Debit Card, and in offline mode, the application fee may be paid through Bank Challan. Candidates belonging to the General and OBC Category are required to pay INR 800 and INR 400 will be charged to reserved category candidates

The hostel details of the Central University of Jammu are given below:

There are 5 hostels at the Central University of Jammu (3 for girls and 2 for boys).
The hostels are at a walkable distance from teaching departments and the central library.
Most of the rooms are double seated and very few rooms are sing.
Hostels are attached with Tv, telephone, sports facilities, television etc.
