Fees and Financial Aid

First of all i clear that the fee structure of all the department are different .I can elaborate it for my department of physics as there will be fluctuations for every year like in my first year i paid 28500 rupees. For the second year i paid 30500 after that for the third year i paid 32000 and according to new education policy for the admission in fourth year we have to pay 34500.It includes all fees like tution fee, lab fee ,library fee also and so on.Except general student thay provide scholarship also . My batchmates from other department like bcom, bba they pay more fee then us like 45000per year. Scholarship available for students through ekalayan which we can fill with the help of college bonafied these scholarship are only available for st,sc and obcs students. Thankyou

Course Curriculum Overview

Like everyone knows in which carriculum they are interested ,similarly i know i have a keen interest in my subject i.e. physics . We can't see physics as a theoretical and mathematical aspect but in our daily Life we use to experienc it . Like if something is fell down there is a reason behind that is gravity .we use to experience physics in our daily life . Some teacher use to make us feel for that subject but someone make us bore sometime. It happens rarely but sometime it happens. So i suggest them to change some activity Like teach with more energyso tha we can't get bored. Sometime we get very lengthy paper in the exams so everyone have to prepare before the examination with high speed.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is quite good because there is only 25 students in our department so it is really easy for us to ask questions to our teachers. Student faculty relationships are also good but accept some teachers rest of them are very good as always there are some teachers and every school and colleges whose behaviours are not acceptable the faculty is or approachable except some as I said earlier and I like most of the teachers I cannot name only one the marking schemes are divided into one marks to marks 3 marks 4 marks and 5 marks as well

Course Curriculum Overview

My courses BSc honours in physics I like the Physics subject very much therefore I am pursuing this course in this college and the teaching is good but somehow things should be made easy for students to understand and if a topic is being started it should be started from the very beginning so that everyone can understand not from the middle of the topic and there are two exams in one semester one is sessional exam and the other one is final exam

Campus Life

The festivals are celebrated within the campus and all of them with batchmates and with quite fun and stage performances are organised by the different clubs in the college and once must say they are a treat to be in. Though, I have spoken about the the quality of library we have and I would mention here that there is no such books of someone's particular department and study requires that would not be available in the liaberies, there is an ipad system where you can search witht he book name or author name or title and find the where the book is available and locate it too. The classrooms are equipped with smart boards and projectors, the labs have computers with all necessary software that the course of the student demands and can be used by the students anytime. The sporting facilities are greatz there are 6 fields in the campus with one professional cricket and one professional footbal ground where you will find the College team practices and I can say as a member of the college cricket team that if you are really keen to make any sport as your careerz the institution is there to provide you the best possible ways and coaches to do so. There are many clubs, I was a member of the music group where we had weekly jamming session and had organised several fest and programs

Faculty

The faculty-to student ratio in our department was very high and each individual student is alsoel designated a mentor that would track the overall growth of the student, who should be among the one who teaches them although the professors are always generally available and are very happy to help, the mentor are different through conversation they become like family and when you are far away from home, at times, it is necessary, The exams are taken in semester basis two semester each year, we had mid sem and end exams for semester so 4 exams in a year. The mid sems are 30 marks test ( though it varies department to department) and end sems are of 50 and 20 marks for laboratory work in internal assessment. They are generally pass but tricky to score good although a student attending classes regularly and doing assignments will be able to good marks easily.

College has a lots of different societies, so events happening almost every month. The annual fest normally happens in January, it's called Xavotsav. And there is other events also. There is a vast collection of books in the library, and we can access almost every single one, also we can borrow it for 2 weeks. Teachers uses projectors for teaching. There is a lots of societies so we can do a lot of extracurricular activities according to our choice. College has a indoor gaming room and also provides us sports equipment for playing. And if you are a sports person you are well appreciated.

Fees and Financial Aid

Every year we've to pay roughly about ?60,000. We've to pay this in 4 installment, roughly ?15,000 in every 4 month. In every installment there is ?1,500 tution fees, ?4,800 development fees and ?4,800 additional fee compulsory. But in some installments there is additional lab fees of ?1,700 and exam fees of ?2000. And if we fail to pay the fees in time college charges ?300 fine per month. Also when I first took admission I paid ?40,000 total as first installment and then the rest 3 installments were as usual. And college provides scholarships but I don't have much idea about this.

Faculty

Faculties in my department are really helpful they are all good and all of them are PHD holders so their teachings is also great. They are really helpful so you don't have to worry about it. you can ask for help anytime. Exam system is also good like you can score good with decent efforts you don't have to stress yourself too much just focus on improving your skills and put minimal efforts and you would do well just attend the lectures and refer your notes properly you are good to go. Sometimes you might face struggles on completion of assignments I mean your core subjects you will be fine but the extra subjects have quite a lot of assignments

Course Curriculum Overview

Well I chose this particular subject as I want to pursue my career in data science with astronomical data so I took the physics subject As for providing helps in this the faculties make sure that they are giving us opportunities to different different conferences guest lecturs so they don't lack over there. Overall They train you for most of the challenges you might face later on.

The fee is not so high. the fee is 5000rs. If you are having an income certificate or a ration card, you can avail the free addmission scheme. This college is under Assam University, Silchar(AUS). Students have to take addmission in a Bachelor's course by merit based through their senior secondary marks.

Faculty

You just need to pass in senior secondary examination to admit in the college. Also you have to seat in the CUET exam. In this institution the exams are not so tough. My interaction to the faculty is very bad. As faculties also didn't notice you.

Ques. How is the integrated MSc in physics at NIT Rourkela?

● Top Answer By Sriparna Banerjee on 14 Aug 23

Ans. I am well aware of the situation of NIT Rourkela Integrated MSc in Physics since my sister is a student there. She shared her horrible experience and does not recommend it to anyone at all. The faculty pool comprises underqualified professors with zero experience and will to reach. They are unapproachable and don’t pay heed to the students' doubts. The curriculum is very rigid and students are offered no flexibility in choosing their electives. Rather they are forced to choose subjects that are only relevant to experimental physics. Students are required to get the signature of the Faculty Advisor, HOD, Asst. Registrar, and Dean even for the smallest official work.  The place limits your talents and ambitions so much that all your dreams and talents will be crushed. My sister regrets wasting 5 precious years on this course and advises everyone to refrain from joining it.Read more

● Top Answer By SHRUTI RAUTELA on 18 Jul 23

Ans. I was a science student and was very much interested in physics so I opted to choose a career in the same. The faculty-student ratio is about 1: 3 Most of the faculty have done their phd and are doctors, while there might be some in the lab to help you out through experiments who are phd scholars. Exams were always on schedule and they were mostly from the syllabus we were taught in the classes hence the mark is clearly not tough you just have to present physically and mentally in your class.Read more
