Course Curriculum Overview

5

The main reason for me to choose the course was physics, i love the subject personally. There is other subjects also except physics, like minors, language, environment, religion, mds etc. The curriculum teaches the academics as well as skills to improve oneself. I don't think there is something in my course to improve, it's amazing. The exams are held frequently and it's little difficult.

Internships Opportunities

4

The collage provides frequent internships. Sometimes mentorship programs are also organised by the departments. One can do internships in any fields as there is lots of options. I didn't face any difficulty till now.

Placement Experience

3

I currently in 2nd year, so I don't have much idea about placements that college offers. But have a brief idea on the besis of the seniors. My collage provides internships, and the average package is also good. From the sixth semester one can become eligible for internships. My plan is to study further, Msc and PhD.

Fees and Financial Aid

The addmission fees for my course was approximately 40000 and the semester fees are around 30000. So the first year fees was around 1 lakh for my course. But from the second year I have to pay around 50000 per year. There is obviously scholarship options based on your family background and your results also. I don't think there is any difference in fees in different categories. 5000 is given if you top in the examination and there is another scholarship or discount in fees if your family income is low.

Campus Life

5

St Xavier's provides a joyful nature. There are many things rather than just study. There is lots of societies. Anyone can join them and engage with other students. College provides a beautiful infrastructure, it consists almost everything. There are lots of festivals going on almost every time of the year. Including sports and many things.

Hostel Facilities

3

The addmission fees of the hostel is around 40 thousand, and the rent per month is between 8500 to 9500. The hostel provides almost every facility, except the rooms are not air conditioned and the same meals are repeated every week. Meal is hygienic and good though, veg and non veg options are also there. But pg rooms around the college costs more than the hostel as I noticed.

Admission

I applied in 3 or 4 colleges but they were not as good as St. Xavier's. At first I wanted to study in iit, but I wasn't able to get one so I decided to study in Xavier's and I take admission as soon as I was selected. I couldn't make in iit because I was sick at that time. There is nothing special in the addmission process of my collage it's like the other colleges out there and it's quite simple. I got selected in abn seal college. it is also a good college, but I found Xavier's better. In my current college I was selected on the besis of the class 12 board exam.

Faculty

5

There is very less things in the faculties that one probably dislike, they're phenomenal as a teacher and as a person. They try to help us every way possible. The course structure is simple as the other colleges out there. There is a mid sem that is held middle of every semester and semester exams are also there. In our department the faculty to student ratio is around 3 students per faculty. It's very easy to approach any faculty member. I like S Ghosh, Ic, Kb etc. i dislike Src, i don't like her teaching style. The exams are little difficult and the course curriculum is relevant.

Night Life

4

In Xavier's some classes are also held in evening. So many students has to attend classes at night. I noticed that I college campus looks more beautiful at night because of the lights. There is a gym, a good cafeteria, a great library and green benches for students to hangout. The hostel timing is very strict though, if you don't have classes then you can't go outside after 5:30 PM but you can go outside between 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.
