To gain admission to this course, candidates need a minimum of 55% in their graduation and must apply online. Admission is based on the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) rank. The course fee totals Rs. 11,715 over four semesters: Rs. 4,290 for the first, Rs. 2,310 for the second, Rs. 2,585 for the third, and Rs. 2,530 for the fourth semester, covering various academic charges. Currently, there are about 40 students enrolled, and the number is expected to grow. Each year, 2-3 students secure internships at renowned science institutions, and students often pass national exams like CSIR NET and GATE, with many pursuing research careers.
The department hosts an annual national-level chemistry conference. In geology, notable placements include 10 out of 30 graduates securing jobs at ISRO, with the highest salary package reaching approximately 10 Lacs. Other job opportunities are available at OIL, Hutti Mines, and Kolar Mines.
