Pondicherry University has extended the application deadline for its Ph.D. Admissions 2026–27 (Entrance Examination category), giving aspirants extra time to complete the online form. Candidates seeking admission through the university’s computer-based entrance test can now submit applications till February 28, 2026 on the official portal.

The admission process includes an entrance exam, followed by interview and academic record evaluation. Interested students must check eligibility, fees, and schedule carefully before applying.

The Pondicherry University has revised the final submission date to February 28, 2026 for candidates applying under the entrance exam mode. All applications must be submitted online only through the official website.

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories). Final-year PG students awaiting results can also apply provisionally.

Incomplete or incorrect applications may be rejected. Candidates applying for Ph.D. admission at Pondicherry University must first pay the application fee of ₹750 for SC/ST/PH/Transgender categories and ₹1,500 for General/OBC/EWS candidates per programme.

After selection, students are required to pay course fees based on their stream and mode of study. For full-time or part-time internal Ph.D., the initial payment is ₹19,430 for Humanities and ₹26,430 for Science, while the subsequent semester fee is ₹5,750 (Humanities) and ₹11,750 (Science).

For part-time external Ph.D., the initial fee is ₹18,250 for Humanities and ₹25,250 for Science, with the same semester charges of ₹5,750 and ₹11,750 respectively, as mentioned in the official brochure.

The entrance examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode at multiple centres across India, including Puducherry, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Lucknow, Vijayawada, Guwahati, and other cities, and candidates can choose their preferred centres during application, though the final allotment will be decided by the university.
