IIM Ahmedabad Releases CAT 2026 Cutoff at iima.ac.in; Check Admission Policy for PGP 2027-29

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has released the detailed admission policy and Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 cutoff for the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) 2027-29 batch. The official notification is available on the institute website at iima.ac.in. Aspirants must qualify through CAT 2026 to be considered for the shortlisting stage.

The two-year flagship PGP course and the PGP in Food and Agri-Business Management (PGP-FABM) will admit candidates through the same CAT-based selection framework. The policy specifies the minimum sectional and overall percentiles for each category. It also outlines the Application Rating (AR), Analytical Writing Test (AWT), and Personal Interview (PI) stages.

IIM Ahmedabad CAT 2026 Minimum Cutoff by Category

IIMA has fixed the minimum qualifying percentiles for all three CAT sections and the overall score. Candidates must clear both the sectional and overall cutoffs to become eligible for further selection stages.

These cutoffs represent the minimum qualifying percentiles for consideration. The actual percentile required to receive a shortlist call may be higher, particularly for the General category. IIMA reserves seats according to the Government of India reservation policy.

Selection Stages for IIMA PGP 2027-29

The admission process consists of two stages after the declaration of the CAT result. The first stage involves shortlisting candidates for the AWT and PI rounds, while the second stage determines the final merit list for admission.

Stage 1: Shortlisting for AWT and PI

Only candidates who meet the minimum sectional and overall CAT 2026 cutoffs will be considered for shortlisting. The composite score is calculated using the following components:

• CAT 2026 score: 65 percent
• Application Rating: 35 percent

The Application Rating (AR) is calculated using the candidate’s academic and profile details. These include Class 10 marks, Class 12 marks based on the academic stream, graduation performance, work experience, and gender diversity score.

Stage 2: Final Selection Weightage

Shortlisted candidates must appear for the Analytical Writing Test and Personal Interview. The final merit list will be prepared using the following weightage:

Eligibility for IIMA PGP 2027-29

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 50 percent marks or an equivalent CGPA. The minimum requirement is relaxed to 45 percent for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.

Candidates appearing in the final year of their qualifying degree are also eligible to apply. Such candidates must submit proof of degree completion by June 30, 2027. Failure to provide the required proof by the deadline may result in the cancellation of the admission offer.

How to Apply for IIM Ahmedabad PGP 2027-29?

Candidates must apply through the CAT 2026 application portal. IIM Ahmedabad does not require a separate application form from candidates applying through CAT.

1. Register for CAT 2026 at iimcat.ac.in during the registration window.
2. Select IIM Ahmedabad and the desired programme in the programme preference section.
3. Enter the Class 10, Class 12, and graduation details carefully.
4. Provide accurate work experience details, including the start and end dates.
5. Pay the CAT 2026 application fee online and submit the form.
6. Appear for CAT 2026 on November 29, 2026.
