I joined DTU in 2020, the year of lockdown. That time the fees was 2.05 lakhs and by 2024 it became 2.29 lakhs. The fees was not hefty at all given the standard that DTU has. One of the best engineering college in entire Delhi after IIT Delhi.

Yearly course fees is 125000 INR and as I am persuing M.Tech so i get Stipend of around 12500 INR for my teachning assistant role.
For our batch the fees has been reduced as the senior batch paid around 169200 INR yearly for the same course.

I started this course in 2024 and then the fees was around 236000 which is 2.36 lakh. The fees will go on to be 250000 which is 2.5 lakh this year,and every year it's going to be increased by 20000. There are fees relaxation for SC/ST students and obc students.

DTU is as good as many NITs and lower ranked IITs. So, fees is as per them as it is 2.6 lakhs a year. Also theres 10k as registration fees and some other additional charges and all make the yearly fees around 3 lakhs a year. However, for students who are in merit but have serious financial conditions are provided scholarships.

Should I opt for DTU mechanical or IIIT Delhi CSE?

The choice depends on what matters the most to you.
If placements, faculty and research opportunities are your top most priority, choose IIIT Delhi CSE. In this respect, IIITD CSE beats DTU Mechanical by a large margin. But if you want the best of campus, college environment, cultural fests and brand name, DTU Mechanical is a much better choice.
I would personally recommend IIIT Delhi, as it offers top notch placements. But if you’re truly passionate about Mechanical, choose that branch. Do not take your interest for granted while choosing your branch/degree.

Which is better, a CSE at IIIT Delhi or an MCE at DTU?

As a third year student of MCE at DTU, I can only tell you about my college and branch-
- The curriculum of MCE is a mixture of Mathematics, Computer Science and Finance.
- This branch will equip you for a career in three fields.
- The focus is more on Mathematics, but CS is an important part.
- MCE offers good placements. Graduates get job offers from top brands like Amazon, Flipkart, etc. MCE gives competition to well-established branches like CoE, IT, SE, etc. in this aspect.
- DTU is a well-recognized institution with a strong alumni network. More than 250 companies visit the campus every year during the placement season.
- Mathematics faculty is top-notch, while CS faculty is average.
If you want to focus solely on programming, choose CSE at IIIT Delhi. MCE offers programming knowledge alongside advanced Mathematical studies. It will help you design and understand really complex solutions.
At the end, the choice must be based on your personal preference.

The choice between CSE from IGDTUW and ECE from NSIT/DTU/IIIT depends on the goals of your daughter. If she is planning to pursue higher studies like MS or a Ph.D., then IIIT Delhi is a decent choice as it’s a research-oriented college. But if she is looking for a job, then IIIT Delhi will offer limited opportunities. This is because getting a job in Core ECE companies like Western Digital and Qualcomm is not easy, as these companies prioritize master students. A few talented students do get placed in Software firms.
In IIIT Delhi first year is the same for both CSE and ECE during which the students are taught Introduction to Programming, System Management, Computer Organisation, Data Structure, and Digital Circuits. Your chances of placement also depend on your CGPA which should be preferably above 7. IIIT Delhi offers the flexibility to choose the CSE courses, provided that you complete the minimum credits requirement in the last two years of B.Tech for the degree.
In all, I feel, that NSIT and DTU will offer great job opportunities because of their brand name but IIIT Delhi will teach you new things and also offer research opportunities
So it’s best to go for NSIT or DTU or IIIT Delhi. Choose wisely.

The admission process is expected to start in August 2024. Admission to the BBA program at DTU will be offered on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination and score in CUET. The seat allocation will be done through the Common Management Admission Committee (CMAC) counseling. The minimum eligibility required to apply for the program is 50% marks in Class 10+2. The total fee for the MBA course at the Delhi Technical University is INR 4.5 lakhs. The hostel fee is INR 60000 for single-seaters, INR 56000 for double seater, and for triple seater is INR 52000.
