Ques. What is the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) concerning SGTB Khalsa College?

Under this system, candidates appear for the CUET-UG exam and then fill in their preferences for colleges and courses online. SGTB Khalsa College participates in this process, and seat allotments are made based on CUET scores, category, and preference order. Once a seat is allotted, students must accept the offer, upload documents, and pay the fee to secure admission to SGTB Khalsa College.

Ques. Is there a provision for reserved categories?

Also, the college does not conduct any examinations except for the case of interviews or practical examinations, if the students are admitted under the music or sports quota.

AI-Generated Summary based on 106 Reviews

For admission into the Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com] {Hons.} program at Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, candidates must appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The application process requires candidates to fill out both the CUET form and the CSAS form for Delhi University, specifying their course preferences. Eligibility requires passing the 12th grade, preferably from a commerce background, though mathematics is not compulsory.

Sikh minority candidates benefit from a 50% reservation. General category students typically needed a CUET score between 740 to 755 out of 800 for admission in 2023-24, with North Campus admissions frequently requiring scores above 750. The CUET exam, based on the 12th-grade NCERT syllabus, assesses proficiency in core commerce subjects like accounts, business studies, and economics. Key stages include the CUET exam, DU registration, and the counseling process. The admission process is relatively smooth, facilitated by straightforward guidelines from Delhi University.

While many students aim for colleges like SRCC, Hansraj, and Hindu, the competitive cutoffs often make SGTB Khalsa College a prominent choice due to its strong reputation within North Campus, particularly for students with moderate CUET scores or those utilizing the Sikh reservation.

I had applied for other colleges like SRCC, Hansraj, Hindu, Sri Venkateshwara, etc. This college was my last resort to stay in the famous north campus of the Delhi University (as I couldn't match the cutoff for other colleges). The admission takes place on the basis of marks scored in CUET.

Admission:

I chose this college over other options primary because of CUET score and the admission process I appeared for the CUET exam and secured an average score which limited my chances of getting into the top tier colleges, however, in the first round of admissions I was allotted this college, which is located in North campus given that north campus colleges generally have better academic exposure, campus, life, and networking opportunities compared to South campus colleges I decided to go with it initially I also tried for the second round of counseling, hoping to secure admission in higher ranked college but unfortunately, I didn't get any other allotment since my CUET score wasn't high enough for the more prestigious colleges I had to settle for this one however I consider myself fortunate because with my score I was more likely to end up in the south campus college thanks to my sikh minority Certificate i was able to secure admission here which worked in my favor

Admission:

The college is purely based on merit list except for the seat reserved for Sikh minority. However the crowd here is very mindful and cohesive. People you start getting along with will greet you wherever they see you and always up to help u with anything u want/need. The staff is equally active and works for students through students. The management tries their level best to tackle any situation that arises and help the students out. They never run away from their duty.

Admission:

During the admission process I had initially applied to Janki Devi Memorial College, New Delhi in the first merit round for Economics Hons. I was not able to land any college in North Campus on merit in 2021 because of the competitive scores everyone got in boards. However that year I had given DUJAT and that is how I got Khalsa in the first round of admission itself. Since it was the only college in North Campus that offered admission through DUJAT I locked my seat and never looked back. I did regret making this decision initially but looking back I think I make the right choice. Talking about DUJAT it was a competitive exam back then to get admission in professional courses like BMS, Business Economics and BBA. It was a very tough paper but it is only because of it that I could enjoy the famous North Campus life. The admission process is a lot different now and much more competitive. Now everyone has to go through CUET UG exams to get admission in any course in any college of DU. The merit system is no longer there for admission to UG programs in DU. I honestly think it is worth all the hard work to get into a good college in North Campus. The experience and fun is unparalleled.
